Unlike most large and crowded day tours, enjoy your guide’s undivided attention for questions and conversation. The first stop on the tour is Tlatelolco, Aztec ruins preserved in downtown Mexico City. At the nearby Basilica de Guadalupe, a major Catholic place of pilgrimage, your guide explains the importance of the Virgin Mary in Mexican history and culture. At Teotihuacan, the ancient “City of the Gods,” a guide is essential to provide context to the unmarked ruins and pyramids. As your guide explains each landmark, learn about the mystery of who may have built the ancient city—and why its population suddenly disappeared. If you’ve opted for the package with lunch, you’ll cap off the tour with a meal at a traditional eatery. You’ll bid your guide goodbye on arrival at your Mexico City address.

Our day was wonderful! Veronika was an excellent and delightful guide. We would have liked to get closer to the mosaic at the university.

          Great tour
A great tour with Marta and Monserrat. Marta had great knowledge and explained a lot of the history and culture to us. The tour was punctual and perfectly timed. The schedule order was changed due to traffic which made sense. Would highlight recommend this tour.

Amazing private tour only way to go
Private tour is the way to go!!! We had a great driver Augustine and an amazing tour guide Ramon. Ramon English was perfect n he had so much interesting information. My wife n I both speak Spanish but it was great for me that his English was so good that I didn’t need to ask my wife to explain anything. The tour group was easy to contact thru WhatsApp and they even accommodated our request to start earlier. On the site it only had 7 n 8 AM but we were able to leave at 6:30 so we beat all the traffic out of the city I would recommend leaving even at 6 AM if you are adjusted to the time. We had just gotten here from Hawaii so we said 6:30. The colonial city was very nice and the history interesting. The vehicle was comfortable as there were only two of us but it fit 6 or 7 I believe. It was great we could stop when we wanted, stay as long or as little in locations I would give the entire experience a top rating all around. The company, the guide and the driver Hope this helps you to decide that for a few more dollars you can have a much more comfortable experience. We also tipped driver n guide but it was still worth it Aloha

          Excellent, informative, lovely tour!
Our tour with Mariana was excellent! She taught us so much about the history of CDMX, Xochimilco, Coyoacán, Frida Kahlo and the artwork at UNAM. She also was flexible with the itinerary and helped fit in coffee and taco breaks at our request :) Casa azul was impressive, as expected, but our unexpected highlight of the day was seeing the incredible murals on the UNAM campus, and hearing Mariana’s detailed interpretations. She spoke slowly and clearly in Spanish, which was perfect for our skill level. All in all, a really lovely day!

Great day at both Tula and Teotihuacan.
Our day with Jorge (guide) and Arturo (driver) was excellent. Jorge studies history and was extremely knowledgeable not only about Tula and Teotihuacan but also anything else you are curious about. And if he doesn't know he'll look it up so as not to misinform you. He's very passionate and loves his job and history, making the tour even more fun. It seems many people miss Tula but I highly recommend it along with Teotihuacan. The lunch portion was pretty touristy but enjoyable enough.

Amazing tour with Jorge, our guide, and Danil, our super driver. Had 2 excellent days. Highly recommended!
Absolutely loved our tour. Our guide Jorge was super knowledgeable and excited to share the stories with us. We originally booked this tour, but ended up going back the next day to do another with this incredible team. Amazing sites and history that came to life for us. Thank you.

Had the best tour with a Jorge as our increadible guide and Danil as our excellent driver.
We started with one day and then booked a second one. Jorge was excellent in telling us about stories and the history both pre Hispanic as well as more recent. He was super entertaining as well. We absolutely loved our 2 days. Highly recommend these guys and the tours if you want to learn and have a great time at the same time.

Viator/ Amigo Two-day tour of Teotihuacan, Guadalupe Basilica, Xochimilco, Coayacan, & Frida Kahlo
We had a wonderful experience on our two-day tour of Teotihuacan, Basilica Shrine of Guadalupe and Xochimilco, Coyoacan, Frida Kahlo museum and UNAM with Amigo Tours. The drivers and guides were very knowledgeable and understandable. Leticia was good but Emmanuel was excellent. Herson was okay. He needs to hold the microphone away from his mouth and does not need to shout into the mike. We needed an earlier lunch hour. Overall, the experience was worthwhile and informative. Muchas gracias.

          Very good tour. Recommend it
I highly recommend this tour. Cholula and Puebla are very beautiful cities, with stunning churches. Our driver Charlie was great. Our guide Maximo was really enthusiastic about his subject. He was helpful and nice. He did his best to share as much information with us as he could. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because we had a little bit of language barrier. But the effort our tour guide put was great and this trip was overall really good.

An excellent tour and a day full of art and culture
This was an excellent private tour. They showed up early, and they had plenty of bottled water for the whole day. We had Bruno as the the tour guide and Arturo as the driver, and they provided two excellent days of touring. (We also did the Teotihaucán/Basílica de Guadalupe tour with them the previous day.) Bruno is very knowledgeable about history, and he did a great job explaining the sites that we visited. My son, a recent college graduate in history, talked non-stop with Bruno about history and archeology. We also had some great discussions about politics, religion, art, and food. I personally really enjoyed ALL the art on this tour-UNAM and Juan O'Gorman, the Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum, and of course the Frida Kahlo Museum. We enjoyed eating lunch in the Coyoacán market. This tour was awesome because we never felt rushed or pressured to move to the next site. In my opinion, it's worth the extra money to have the personalized attention and detailed information, and I would highly recommend this tour and this tour group.

We had an absolutely amazing day with our tour guide George and driver Arturo. They picked us up right on time at our Airbnb and took us to a fantastic bakery for a special Día de los Muertos pastry as the first stop on our day long trip to Teotihuacán
and the Shrine of the Guadelupe.

George was engaging, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the history and culture Teotihuacán and the shrine. He welcomed our questions, going above and beyond to make our day a fun, informative, five star experience.

The restaurant chosen for lunch, the shops made available, and the overall ease and comfort of the day made it relaxing and memorable.

We highly recommend this tour company, and this guide and driver in particular.

It was not clear from description that it is private your. Guide was good but difficult to understand sometimes. I would have taken a regular bus tour which was 1/4 cost and May be slightly better Guide. Car and drivers were descent Made a customary stop at restaurant which was attached to high priced shop.

Marcos, guide, and Helberto, driver, were fantastic.
Marcos spoke excellent English and with his degrees from University in MesoAmerican History it added to the quality of the information provided.

Our trip was almost 11 hours due to traffic in and out of the city as well as a family of 8 that were "late" to the meeting points by 5-15 minutes. They were very apologetic and nice. Our entire crew was from CA, OH, AZ and CO. Everyone got along and shared travel experiences throughout the day.

Pick up was at our hotel at 8:30am. Drop off was at 7:10pm. A long day but worth the time and having someone else drive and navigate the crazy traffic.

Wayak Tour from 8:30am - 7:10pm but well worth it!

~ Plaza de las Tres Culturas: the center for Aztec, pre-Colombian, and Catholics dating back before 1325 AD. Every 52 years the sacred area was built upon for hundreds of years.

~ Drove to Arresanias fina el Sol to learn about the mining of obsidian and the uses of the agave! Tasted 5 tequila and mescals. Fascinating!

~ Drove to Teotihuacan Temples. Walked the ancient, abandoned, and holy city for people dating back to 1500 BC.

~ Drove to lunch at TLAXKO for shrimp tacos! Really good! Traditional Mayan drum dance.

~ Finally we visited the 3 churches dedicated to Santa Maria de Guadalupe with whom is said to have been discovered by Juan Diego.

1st Church finished in 1531 on Tepayac Hill.

2nd Church finished in 1709 and was blessed as a Basilica. Pope John Paul II visited this location 5 times in his tenure and is beloved by the people.

3rd Church finished in 1973 and can host 16 services at one time for hundreds of people daily.

The prayer candles at this location are collected every evening so the wax can be recycled to create the enormous candles lit for every service so the prayers can linger as long as possible.

Wonderful history about the development of Mexico City and its melting pot of cultures, religion, people, science, math, architecture, and commerce!

Great experience, would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Mexico City who prefers to do a private tour over a group. Veronica was very professional and kind. She shared so many interesting historical/cultural facts, made us feel comfortable the whole time, and took some great photos for us. We booked the 8am slot and definitely recommend going no later than that. We were able to get to the pyramids before the crowd and get back into CDMX before the traffic got too bad. They provided a few water bottles for free which was great. My only tip for improvement would be the lunch we had in Teotihuacan (it was a little bland), but this was made up for by the view (you can see both pyramids!) and fun vibes of the rooftop.

We (wife and I) private tour with Bruno. He was extremely knowledgeable and deeply interested in conveying the history and archaeology of the 3 sites we visited. We spent an incredible 6 hours with him and his driver (Mr. Carlos). The extra cost of the private tour is well worth it- no rush, no being herded with a crowd, and basically spend a day having a conversation with an expert while you take in the incredible history and architecture of this area. Plus we learned more about current Mexican society and politics from Bruno which made it even more informative about our entire Mexico City vacation.

It was my first time getting a private tour, and I recommend Mexico Tour Freelance services. The interaction with the operator is simple and easy (I highly recommend installing WhatsApp on your phone).
Our guide, Bruno, was an expert in Mexican history and explained to us in detail the pre-Hispanic part and 20th-century history (this one at our request). The tour to Teotihuacan was impressive. Bruno showed and explained to us all the highlights of the pyramids allowing us time to take photos and ask questions.
The tour included lunch at a great place where we tried pulque and tequila and learned about maguey.
In the afternoon, we visited Villa Guadalupe and the magnificent shrine. Our guide showed us all the buildings that are part of the shrine and answered our questions.
Our driver Carlos was spectacular and very friendly.
During the entire day, we never felt rushed and saw everything at our pace.

We could have rented a car and visited these sites ourselves but I’m so glad we paid for the guided tour! Arturo was the best guide we could have hoped for - personable, knowledgeable, witty, accommodating and just a stellar person. Enrique was a great driver and the collective shop at the end of the tour was informative, welcoming and not at all pushy about purchasing. But we did buy a few things because the items were beautiful and we wanted to have objects to remember the trip. Thanks all for a fantastic experience. Oh and lunch at the restaurant near the pyramids was delicious with excellent service.

We had a great time with Veronika our guide who I highly recommend to anyone else doing this tour if she’s available and we had a very nice driver as well. There was a lot of information shared on the way to the sites to prepare us for what we were going to see and we had a good time once we got there, doing some exploring on our own and doing some things with the guide. The trip is flexible so you can stay as long or as little as you want at each side depending on what you’re interest level is, but the time is fixed, of course. We opted for the lunch, which was very basic but fine for us just to have a quick bite to eat, and we were given a little tour of an obsidian makers shop, and some local producers of tequila and other spirits made in the area, which was fun without any pressure to buy. I would definitely recommend this to other travellers and the 8 o’clock start time I thought work perfectly As the day progresses the sites get much more crowded.

I can not recommend this tour enough!

        The People/Tour Company:
Our driver was Arturo (and he was a very skilled / professional driver) but Luigi (our tour guide) really stole the show. Luigi has been doing this for many years - and it showed. He has perfected the art of giving tours. They arrived right on time at 9am to pick us up from our airbnb. We ended up having to change to a larger vehicle last minute because we had someone else that wanted to come, and they were able to accommodate. Whatsapp chat is a great way to get in contact with them. Also, they had already taken care of all of the tolls/gas/admission prices so we didn't have to worry about tickets or any of that.

        The Tour:
We first went to Teotihuacan and spent a few hours there. Luigi took us around and imparted a plethora of meaningful and interesting wisdom. He answered all of our questions and made us feel at ease. He also gave us time to roam on our own, which was great. It was a very beautiful, spiritual stop that I highly recommend.

After this tour we went to a delicious lunch with a rooftop view of the pyramids and several cultural performances. We weren't expecting that and really enjoyed it. We ended up getting back to the airbnb later than expected because we hadn't accounted for the longer lunch, but it was definitely worth it and we were glad for a break to sit down and have drinks/food.

Following lunch (right outside of the restaurant) there was a brief (but interesting) tour by a local tour guide / artist. She showed us how various plants and minerals are used for art and other uses in this region. We had a chance to walk around the store there and shop a bit. We even got to taste some local tequilas.

Lastly, we stopped at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Luigi knew a lot about this, as well. He answered our questions and explained the history of the place. He gave us time to spend alone, as well.

We really enjoyed this tour. Would definitely book them again for another tour the next time we're in Mexico. They have several options.
