  • Traditional Mexican food and drinks provided for lunch
  • Private tour ensures tailored, intimate experience
What to expect
Avoid the stress of navigating public transit on your own with a morning pickup from your hotel. Unlike most large and crowded day tours, enjoy a guide’s undivided attention for questions and conversation. The first stop on the tour is the Aztec ruins in the center of downtown Mexico City. At the nearby Basilica de Guadalupe, your guide explains the importance of Guadalupe to Mexican history and culture. At Teotihuacan, the ancient “City of the Gods,” a guide is essential to provide context to the unmarked ruins and pyramids. As your guide explains each landmark you pass, learn about the mystery of who may have built the ancient city and why its population suddenly disappeared. Climb the Sun Pyramid for panoramic views of the surrounding highlands. Cap off the tour with lunch at a traditional eatery, before parting ways with your guide on arrival at your Mexico City hotel.

Veronica (our guide) and Luis (driver) took great care of us.
They arrive early in the morning at the hotel for pickup. Veronica is very knowledgeable. We spent all day with her and she took time explaining the history of Mexico and places we visited. This private tour is really worth the money as we get to see Teotihuacan and the Basilica de Guadalupe with great lunch in between. One of our family member forgot a photo print in the van when we ended out tour. They managed to drop off the photo at our hotel the next day. We really appreciate their service and honesty. Highly recommend.

Carlos our Guide was excellent.

Pick up on time, Tour well arranged, including Lunch and travel with clean car, including drinking water for the trip and good driver who made sure Carlos could concentrate on giving us the answers to all question asked.

We clearly could experience how well Carlos knew all the historical elements of both the Azteken and Teotihuacan culture and History.
Highly recommend this guide and the trip to all of you who want to understand a bit more of the Mexican History.

Had a great time! Doing a private tour was definitely worth it! Our guide was super knowledgeable and our driver was always there on time when we needed him! We enjoyed walking and learning about the pyramids and got some great shots! We also learned about the obsidian mines before lunch, yes it’s probably a tourist trap but we really enjoyed it and even purchased two pieces. I like that they gave us certificates with our purchase authenticating the obsidian. Also, the lunch spot we went to had a view of the pyramids!!! We finished the day at the Guadalupe Shrine and it was breathtaking and I learned so much about the culture and religion of the indigenous and the Mexican people. Thank you!

Great tour guide, as a trained Archeologist Brenda was highly informative and friendly. First stop is Tlatelolco then about an hour to a stop at an artisanal spot near the pyramids. It was interesting to see the silver jewelry being made an mezcal agave. Tasting of pulque, tequila and mezcal. The obsidian sculptures and jewelry seemed to be priced fairly if you want to buy them on to the pyramids which are are a must see if in Mexico City. Back to the same artisanal spot for lunch in a nice restaurant The lunch provided is large so we took some food back with us in the cooler the driver ( Victor) provide for ample water. Note the waiter will want a tip as it’s not included. Then about 50 mins to the Guadalupe Basilica which is impressive

We are 2 couples (middle age), very mobile.
Our guide (Ramon) and driver (Arturo), picked us up at our hotel at 8 AM in a very comfortable air conditioned van - water and soft drinks provided. Ramon’s knowledge of ancient Mexican history is exceptional, he was very open to answering any questions we had and supplementing this with pictures from books. We learned so much!
The climb up the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon was steep, not for the faint of heart or obviously, those with mobility issues. The views from up top are incredible!
We also got to see some of the homes surrounding the pyramids, incredible early engineering. We spent about 2.5 hrs at the pyramids site, the whole time walking and climbing.
From Teotihuacan we were taken to a workshop where we saw silver and obsidian stone artisans at work. A wonderful 3 course lunch was provided at this site.
The tour ended at Our Lady of Guadalupe shrine and Basilica area where we visited the various churches and chapels. We had the option of visiting Plaza de las tres Culturas (square of the three cultures) but we were pooped out by then.
We were glad to have started our day early as it can get very hot and climbing the pyramids would be hard in the heat, and also fewer people the earlier you go.
All in all, a top notch tour with an excellent guide (Ramon), a great driver (Arturo), truly amazing sites and a wonderful lunch!

Make sure you book this tour with Veronica! She was knowledgeable and super friendly...very thorough at answering all the questions we had! We saw so many historic landmarks and Veronica educated us each step of the way. You can sense her passion and we appreciate her enthusiasm throughout the tour. She was the absolute best!

This tour is a great way to get a full day of learning about the rich history of the Teotihuacan and the old/new church of Santa Maria de Guadalupe. The Tlatelolco was just a nice bonus. A MUST DO if you are in Mexico City...we had no idea going in the tour just how deep and fascinating the culture and history are here.

Side note: we are glad we did the tour too BEFORE going to the anthropology museum...the museum ties everything you learn and see on the tour together with the artifacts and statues you will see and read about.

We've been lucky to have Jose Luis as our guide, he was very helpful and kind, sharing with us a lot of information regarding the places we've been and the history of Mexico.
Everything was perfect, from pick up to every attraction we've been visiting. Jose Luis knowledge about each place was excellent, we learn a lot about Mexico.
We also received a great support from Jose Luis and the agency in getting the passes to Frida Kahlo Museum (was sold out on all sites) in our last day in Mexico. The tour included also another spectacular attraction, the floating garden.

We are so happy that we chose this private tour, it was beyond our expectations! Carlos and Ana are a fantastic team as driver and guide. They accommodated our needs and gave us plenty of time to enjoy every stop. The little traditional restaurant chosen for lunch gave us a great taste of the local cuisine and live music. The knowledge Carlos has, not only about the places visited, but about world's history and culture is impressive and the friendliness and care shown are simply amazing! Highly reccommended, it was a fun, insightful and unforgetable experience!

Our trip to the pyramids and the Shrine of Guadalupe was one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico.
Carlos our guide was amiable, professional and a wealth of knowledge. Luis the driver
Was equally professional and pleasant .
Choosing this early morning time if 9am was perfect because there were less crowds in the Pyramids.
