Mexico City tours and Lake Xochimilco
We had the best time! Our tour guide Sergio was AMAZING! He really made the experience special for us. The city tour was fun and informative and we stopped for lots of delicious snacks along the way. Sergio knows the best spots and also gave us so many recommendations for bars, restaurants and things to see. 10 outa 10!

Look for another tour this is not worth it
Hi the tour was not what we expected The guide just took us to cuernavaca to one street of the city , no explanations where given In Taxco they just immediately took us to a shop instead of taking us to sight seen in the city Again they did not have any info or knowledge regarding the place At the time of lunch they forgot to include us in the list of those who paid for it so we had to contact them after we were forced to pay , so that they could reimburse us. They did But simply it is not what they advertised. Look for another option !!!

It is a place where mostly Catholic people attend, during the dates of July and December there are quite a few people since there are pilgrimages and the mornings to the Virgin of Guadalupe, it is a very central place because it is located in Mexico City. outside it there is a souvenir and food market

          Great places but some issues
We enjoyed going to both places but only had 30 minutes at the shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe and I was thinking we would have at least an hour there. As a person of faith, I felt that the guide brought his anti Roman Catholic views to the tour and it was distracting and sometimes inappropriate. The pick up and drop off was extremely disorganized.

          Poor organisation and timing
We spent an owful time in pickup times and waiting’s. Arriving eventually at Taxco at 2pm (including 20mn no more in Cuernavaca). People just seemed not to know who was going and where and when. The lunch was shameful The two stars are for Taxco only. A beautiful city that we saw too quickly

Good if you are limited for time
Would have preferred more time at Xochimilco and to not be pressured by jewellery seller which meant we missed things we wanted to see

Beautiful churches and views, tour not all I was led to believe
I appreciated the hotel pickup. It's a 2+ hour drive to the first stop, with a gas station stop on the way. My voucher said the tour would be in English but it seemed I was the only English speaker on the tour. At first she presented in both English and Spanish but by the time we reached Cholula, it was all Spanish the rest of the day. My friend translated for me some. I enjoyed seeing all that we saw, the decor on some of the churches is mind-boggling, the view at Cholula worth the climb. Puebla was full of people/cars, which made short distance from Cholula to Puebla a slow drive. Lunch was a buffet near the center of Puebla. We had about 30 minutes of free time in a market in Puebla (not worth it). The driver was excellent.

          Not good.
Very bad experience we left behind schedule and had to skip Cuernavac because guide said that all the places that are go-to places to see were closed for renovations? the drive was chaotic at best, there were times we all thought we were going to crash, very fast in and out of traffic just a horrible experience all around, Taxco was a delight but the trip over is something I hope nobody expiereces.

We took Mexitours. Ask for Vincente and David. They made the trip fun. Each stop had enough time to enjoy the sights. It is about 278 steps to the top. Worth the view. Guadalupe has beautigul painting in the old Cathedral and Mass is about every 30 minutes.

          What a disappointment
The guide never introduced himself or the driver to the group. We had to fill the van with gas before leaving Mexico City. He spoke softly and his command of the English language was poor. There was very little time given for shopping. There was no explanation of cities along the way. What a disappointment!

          Welcome to the Silver Mountain!
Taxco is just an amazing little town full of jewelry, history and kind people. We really enjoyed our tour there, the ride was excellent, the guide was always pending on whatever you might need… highly recommended!

Take these guys if you want to be ripped off and have your merchandise stolen.
My tour guide's name was Sammy. He must have been some guy they found who they could teach three things to about every site. He started off by telling us some facts about the city, mainly how it was sinking, and then sat down and chatted with the driver in Spanish the rest of the time. He took us to a high-end store and told us not to buy anywhere else as it would be fake. He took us to a restaurant for lunch and disappeared. My lunch was 3x the price of my dinner at a local excellent restaurant. He took us to Teotihuacan and told us he'd be back to get us in 2 hours. He tried to get out of taking us to the Basilica. He ran us around the Basilica for about 10 minutes and told us about 3 facts about it. When dropped me off - my suitcase was in the back of the van with a handicraft I had purchased. I had my luggage since I was picked up at one hotel and dropped at another. The valet took my suitcase and then I realized that my purchase wasn't there, but he had already driven off. I had the concierge call first thing the next morning, and the tour company knew nothing about it and said there was nothing in the back of the van. Thieves.

Great introduction to main attractions in Mexico City. Our guide Jorge was extremely knowledgeable. I would have liked more time to see more at the anthropological museum.

I purchased two tickets to the tour and was then informed that the Frida Kahlo Museum was not included in the tour. At that point, tickets to the Frida Kahlo house were sold out and I was not able to receive a refund. If purchasing the tour, be sure to double check that you will get everything you are promised. I ended up cancelling and never received a refund.

The description of the tour sadly did not match the reality. First our pickup time was changed the day before from 9:00 to 10:30, changing the timing of the whole day. Yes, the actual places visited were worth seeing and experiencing, but from the moment we met our tour guide, it was more about him than about the places we had come to see. Yes, he has some knowledge about Mexican history that was interesting to hear, and about the artists whose works we viewed, but he took too many opportunities to turn the conversation to himself, what a great guide he was, his political views, etc. Beyond that, he kept up a high-pressure push for big tips for himself that put an uncomfortable edge on the day. The description of the boat ride in Xochimilco as a relaxing and beautiful experience was again marred by the high pressure sales efforts to buy extras while on the boat, and to make sure to appreciate the superior skill of our guide. The late start of our tour also made the day feel rushed; we ended up with only 20 minutes to find lunch near the Frida Kahlo Museum, which our guide handled by taking up to a less crowded but very expensive restaurant and tacking a huge tip onto the tab for fast service. The full hour ride back to our airbnb involved more of listening to our guide's opinions, some of which were not that well informed, and more high pressure sales pitch for a great tip at the end. He gave us a hand written "evaluation form" to fill out for his employer, because he had forgotten the actual forms. The kicker was the next day when we were on a delightful tour of Teotihuacan with an amateur guide (booked through airbnb) who had a genuine interest in the history and the astronomy associated with the temples/pyramids, and we ran into a tour group with our guide from the previous day. (He had told us that other guides would rip us off at Teotihuacan, and that all of the "theories" about the place were "lies".) He greeted us loudly and tried to grab us to say great things about him to the group he was leading, but I couldn't get away quickly enough. For what was supposed to be an economical tour, all of the extras and high pressure for tips made it more expensive than expected. The jaded attitude of the guide and his need to be the main focus of everything didn't help, either. Lesson learned. No more "economical tours".

Coyoacan and the Frida Kahlo house were great. Very interesting information about Cortes and the early days of the Spanish in Coyoacan, also beautiful church interior. Frida’s home also was very interesting and beautiful. A lot of art work and memorabilia. Loved this part of the tour. Xochimilco was a bit of a let down for me. You just ride down the main canal and back along with many other boats. Another boat sells you a meal and drinks which is good. I was hoping that we would take a short trip on the side canals and see a little more. Then University tour was not much to see but basically on the way back not that much out of the way. I’m glad that I took this tour .

Dear Pichlers, We are sorry that you had a bad experience, unfortunately, is the logistic of the tour, as the pick-up places are not near each other and also Mexico city has a lot of traffic we can not control, I will advise the operator to see if we can make an improvement on route to avoid to much time on the van for further services. Thank you for your comments since they help us improve. Thank you

Dear Carmen L, Thank you. Your comments help us to improve our services. We have 2 options to buy this tour with Frida's tickets or if you prefer without tickets, we recommend to buy the tickets to avoid lines in the museum, otherwise, it makes take around 1 and a half hour. I hope your stay in Mexico has been pleasant.
