They arranged an alternate meeting location to avoid the Day of the Dead parade traffic, then brought us to the Anahuacalli Museum and finally to Xochimilco! Having travelled extensively to over 35 countries, I can honestly say that this tour was one of our favorites. Ulysis and Alberto are outstanding guides with a vast knowledge on the history and culture of Mexico, and Cholula and Puebla in particular. Highlights of the tour include climbing to the top of the worlds largest pyramid in Cholula, an amazing authentic Mexican meal in Puebla, and seeing ash spew from the Popocatepetl volcano. Ulysis and Alberto both are just amazing people with a great passion for their country and life in general. Both were so kind and they really made the trip memorable. Highly recommend!Written 26 September 2023

We lucked out because we booked a shared tour to the Caves + Taxco, but it was only us so it turned into a private tour. :) We were stuck in traffic, but Ulysses was flexible and made sure we were able to see as much as possible. You can sense his passion for his country’s history and culture. He is very knowledgeable in this aspect and I enjoyed every bit of it! We all agreed that he went above and beyond to make our experience the best. Muchas gracias, Ulysses! Tu eres el mejor! 👍Written 22 September 2023

This trip was magnificent, the driver Mr. Javier showed exactly on time at the hotel, picked us up, very friendly, nice manners and professional and a good driver and good English. The trip in the caves was mind blowing for me, such an amazing experience, then the trip to Taxco, also very beautiful village, our tour guide there was Stefano, also super nice person with good English, the restaurant at the top of the mountain has a very beautiful view the food was also very tasty I had Mole Rosa.
The cable car was fun, I recommend that you get round trip on it. On the first leg, just enjoy the view, don't take out you camera yet. do it on the way back so you have better knowledge of what to shoot
Overall I absolutely recommend this trip

This was a very unique tour and definitely worth the 3 hour drive in the car. The tour guide, Ulises, was very friendly, a great guide, and translator. The city of Taxco had beautiful architecture and rich history. The caves were gorgeous, although a bit of a trek :) Highly recommend!

Our tour guide Francisco picked me and my husband at our Centro Historico hotel on time to begin our journey. He arrived in a nice and comfortable van. Francisco was polite but not talkative at all, which made for an odd trip to Guerrero.
On our way to the caves we passed many towns and even the City of Cuernavaca, Morelos. At no time did our guide point out any of the areas we we passing, including Cuernavaca. Whenever I would ask a question, he answered right away, but his responses were short and we went back to silence for most of the trip.
Although our guide drove very fast for most of the way, we for to the caves a few minutes past the first tour at 10:00 am, so the group had already left and my husband and I were told to run to catch up with the tour group, which was not nice, as it would have been nice to enjoy the nature walk on the way to the entrance of the cave, Francisco did not accompany us. He stayed at the covered shopping area by the parking lot. I speak Spanish, so I was able to translate the tour information to my husband, but please be advised that the facility tours are the caves are in Spanish only.
The caves are 2 kilometers in both directions, so be prepared for a good walk. However, the long walk, moisture and heat of cave are all worth the impressiveness of the caves. They really are majestic, and the whole path is paved and illuminated, so it feels very safe inside.
After we left the caves we head to Taxco, which I always wanted to visit. The town is beautiful, nested on the side of a mountain with all white houses, it reminded me a lot of Spain and the area of el Albacín in Granada. When we first arrived, we were taken to Hotel Montetaxco, for lunch, and after that headed to the center of the city where we would meet a "local tour guide", which was nothing but a five minute "tour" of the church and then took us to a silver shop for a mandatory sales pitch.
After that Francisco, our guide instructed us to meet him back at the plaza in one hour to head back. I thought one hour in Taxco was nothing. I would have much more enjoyed eating wherever I wanted and not have to go through the so called city tour. It would have been good if these details would have been mentioned in advance, specially since this was a private tour, but again, our guide just did not communicate at all. I would have appreciated more information about the history of the town, and its traditions. At one point we passed a statue of the masked procession on Holly Week, and I had to explain it to my husband from the little I know about it. Francisco said nothing.
On the way back to Mexico City, I talked to Francisco in Spanish about the economy and politics and he appeared more engaged, but still, there was no valuable information related to the tour or the sites we visited. He also drove extremely fast, to the point I tough he was going to flip the van on some of the curves.
In summary, both of the sites visited made it worth the trip. Both the caves and the city of Taxco as beautiful it their own way and that is the reason I am giving it four stars and recommend you see them. The tour itself lacks a lot. More than a tour, we had a chauffeur for the day.

Hello Delia
We apologize for the inconvenience during your tour and I respond to your observations.
I regret the confusion in the function of francisco, our driver, since his functions are to assist passengers in any contingency, support them in whatever they need and recommend activities and dishes to taste at lunch time, he is not the guide since The guides are local and they are held in two events, one in the caves and the other in the city of Taxco. He is the host driver and that is what he says in the instructions when you hire our tour, Certified and Local Guide
Regarding his handling, we will talk with him to take actions and prevent him from taking the laps very quickly when he arrives at the Cacahuamilpa caves, he surely did so to reach the entry time of 10 in the morning, but we must wait an hour to re-enter and that time can be used more in Taxco. He did not accompany them since he considered that as you were Mexican and you spoke perfectly Spanish you could do the tour as the guide gives it, but in those cases where people only speak English, our host enters with the guests and translates what they are saying the guides, so their function is not only to drive since they also participate in the activity together with the people who are going to know the caves.
Regarding the time given in Taxco, your comment is very good because it has made us redefine our logistics, we have guests who do not want more than half an hour and we have some others who want to stay until sunset, therefore we will make an initial assessment with the client to define mostly what activities they want to spend more time on and adjust to thire needs and desires of each of the people participating in this tour.
Without the desire to offend you, I think you only noticed more negative things than positive ones, for example the food with a view of the city is something that you increidibly did not mention and it is something that our passengers like most about this tour and the descent of the funicular is simply spectacular and you did not mention it either, and these are two activities that you simply cannot find on a regular tour, because I assure you that the bus does not go up to the top of where this hotel is located and that is what has made it different from this tour.
Thank you very much and we appreciate all your comments

It was great to see the caves, and this was one of the only options I could find to go there. However, the tour overall was just okay and it ended up costing us more than anticipated with the extra charges throughout the day.
I have been on many tours with energetic and engaging guides, but this tour did not have an overall tour guide, and we were with only the driver for most of the day. On most tours where there is a long drive, there is commentary on the surrounding area and culture (like was stated in the inclusions). The driver barely spoke during the entire trip and didn't communicate what to do once we arrived in a place. We only found out how long we had in certain places and when to meet back at the van when we asked him.
We left right on time from the Sheraton at 8 am, but were still 10 minutes late to the 10 am guided tour of the caves, so we had to pay an extra 450 pesos for another guide or wait until 11 am and have a shorter time in Taxco. In Taxco, we had to buy our own tickets for the gondola ride. With tipping the 3 guides (driver, cave guide and Taxco guide), the price of lunch, the extra cost for the tour at the caves and the gondola ride, the tour ended up costing us more than expected.

Hello, if somehow to compensate for the loss of time that occurred due to being late, the driver offered to pay for the private tour in the caves, since if not the delay of the tour would be worse, I think that at the end was better because you entered in a small group and the difference in payment was no more than 15 USD in total for the 6 people who went.
The tour does not include an explanation during the tour because it is a high-speed road and an area with dangerous curves, that is why we do not want to put you at risk in case the driver gets distracted giving explanations along the way, that is why there are guides provided for explain inside the caves as well as in the magical town of Taxco.
The appointment was at 7:30 and you arrived at 8 am, we lost half the time and that is why we did not manage to arrive at 10 am as originally planned, in addition to the fact that the extra cost was shared with the other couple that went with you, therefore those 22.5 USD were not paid in full by you. We do not include the cable car because there are passengers who are afraid of heights and that is why we leave it to the decision of the passenger when they are in the place.
I understand that it could have been a little more expensive, however, as you have noticed, we offer personalized services, it is obvious that the cost increases a little bit because they do not go on a bus with 50 people and where they visit all the sites very quickly, our tours are designed so that your travel experience is complete even if we end up costing a little more than the tours offered by other providers. Thank you very much for your review and we will continue working to be better every tour.

An exceptional tour - as a single traveller, I initially couldn't book this trip, but by contacting and keeping in touch with Francisco from Travis Adventures, we were able to sort out a date whereby I could join another group. The caves are astonishing and Taxco is a little gem of a place, albeit very busy at this time of the year. Ulises, our guide for the day, was extremely courteous, very knowledgeable and we felt completely at ease with him. A big part of the day is the driving, but that shouldn't be a deterrent to booking this trip. An excellent trip all round.

Enormous caves that are interesting to walk through. Guides are knowledgeable but check they have one that speaks English. Zipline to entrance was fun too.

The Good:
You get curb to curb service and a very courteous, efficient, and attentive English speaking driver/guide. We were one of two groups picked up and transported by van for a headcount of five American gringos. These two destinations are 111 miles (2.5hr) south of CDMX (a third of the way to Acapulco). Accordingly, you get a full dose of the wonderful mountainous countryside that you may otherwise never get to see. The Cacahuamilpa caverns are huge and extensive and quite beautiful. They have fewer remarkable mineral deposits than some caves, but make up for it in sheer scale. Emerging from this extensive tour, you proceed to nearby Taxco. Taxco is very impressive topographically, architecturally, and culturally. You begin with lunch at the hilltop Hotel Montetaxco, with its panoramic view of the town and then proceed down the (optional) cable car to the other side of the valley. This is a blast and not to be missed. There you are collected and taken to the beautiful church of Santa Prisca de Taxco. A terse English language tour is provided by a local guide, where after you are loosed on the Plaza Borda for a short while. Soon you are collected for the journey home.
The Not So Good:
The caverns: The facilities there are more rural than the modern standard in CDMX. I got no cell service in the valley. The caves are also (surprisingly) quite moist and warm. While our driver/guide stayed with us, we were assigned to the very large Spanish language tour run by the park. These were apparently very funny, but quite opaque to those of use stranded in English. We looked and marveled, but did not laugh. Arguably the caves really do speak for themselves.
In Taxco, the locals seem to confine the tourist trains to designated roads and areas. These areas of Taxco were pretty tourist-choked when I was there. The amount of free time you have in central Taxco is minimal, maybe 30 minutes after the church tour. This was disappointing as I could have consumed any amount of time walking the streets. I can just imagine how wonderful and overnight there would be, after the hordes pull out. (I had the same reaction to Toledo, daytripper afflicted before evening, magical by night.) But this was a day trip and already a lengthy one at that, so my expectations should perhaps be more muted.
Overall, I’m very pleased with the value, but wish I had better options. The expectations game is very important here. If it wasn't for this trip’s availability, I would likely have passed on both sites, and that would have been a serious mistake. These were amazing places and I and very grateful I got to experience them.

The second tour for my parents that we booked. They were very happy and satisfied, especially with their guide Ulysis. Thank you for taking good care of them and allowing them to have this experience!

I am looking for a private guide who can put together a three day private tour package for us. We are staying Dorado’s convention center with my son who is competing in wrestling on different days. Therefore we would like to tour on the days he’s not competing. We would need someone to pick us up at our hotel. We are thinking on 10/21 we tour Taxco, 10/23 we tour Teotihuacan, then on 10/25 we tour Mexico City. I am not sure if any guide does all those three of these. Please let contact me if you can do this. If there are other tour guides you know who might do this please refer them to us. Thanks.

Puedo tomar este tour, ustedes nos recogen en hotel de ciudad de México df? y además, hacerlo más prolongado. Es decir, hospedarnos un día y noche en taxco, y luego regresar a la ciudad d e México?

The tour was on foot from the mouth of the caverns, deep inside and then backout. This takes a long while and is impressive. The terrain outside the caverns is beautiful but there was no opportunity to explore it. Accordingly, cascadas/waterfalls and similar above-ground attractions were not part of the tour. I'm sure these would warrant a day all to themselves.
