Seamless and well-organized private tour to Teotihuacan & Basilica
Everything went smooth and generally was well organized. Really enjoyed the private tour for 2 of us, getting full attention of the guide and driver. Pick-up was convenient, directly from our hotel. Guide was telling really interesting facts about Teotihuacan and answered our questions. After Pyramids driver dropped us next to Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, where we walked on our own and enjoyed the area. Then driver brought us back to the hotel. Overall tour took around 6 hours.

Personal tour with Jaime was exceptional and beyond expectations!
Jaime really knocked it out the park! He was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I learned so much about the sites we visited, including lesser known pearls about the history. I particularly appreciated his insider connections with the vendors at the local markets and the trajineros in Xochimilco! Everything went smoothly and according to plan, and we packed in more than I could ever hope to do on my own.

We had the best experience with our very knowledgeable historian tour guide, Armando! Couldn’t have been better! Also gave us great tips on other areas of Mexico City worth visiting. Good playlist and sense of humor. Highly recommend

Amazing visit to the Teotihuacan Pyramids
First of all, I have to thank both our driver Jaime Fernandez and our local guide Israel Alva for making our visit of the Pyramids so exceptional. They were both very friendly, attentive, kind and knowledgeable about the area. The pyramid visit was autstanding and Israel patiently answered all my questions. They then brought us to Pueblo Magico, a boutique where I found all the authentic handicrafts I was looking for. It was great! The owner was very generous. And then Jaime drove us safely back to the hotel among really busy traffic. Thank you to all for a memorable adventure!!!!!

          Personal and amazing tour
From start to finish Patricia was AMAZING and went above and beyond to show us Mexico City’s gems.. both known ones and tucked away ones. After hearing what we were interested in she pivoted our tour to include some amazing places like Museo Anahuacalli. She took us for the best tacos I’ve ever eaten. She even recommended and dropped us off at the artisan markets rather than our hotel so we could explore even more when our tour should have ended. I would love to hang out with Patricia again! She’s wonderful.

A dream come true tour of Mexico City by Jaime, our tour guide
Haime was an outstanding guide. He was very friendly and we loved his personality and company. I felt very comfortable with him. And safe. Great driver!!! He made this trip to Mexico City a most memorable experience that I will never forget. It was a full day but time went very quickly. He taught us many historical facts about Mexico, from the Aztecs to Spanish conquests. He pointed out highlights of the city, architectural sights, museum recommendations, and restaurants. He is by far the best tour guide ever and I have had many in my travels around the world. I will be recommending him to my friends and family, and when I come back, I will ask for him only. We went to mexico city and Armando was amazing! We had a great time in the Centro and Xochimilco. He had a lot of fantastic information, made sure we ate well, and saw all the important things. We highly recommend Armando for any tours in Mexico City.

          Absolutely worth it!
Jaime was an amazing guide for our day in Xochimilco and Coyoacan! This was a low-stress way to get to Xochimilco and hear about the history of the area. Jaime communicated clearly about where to meet for pick-up and was a safe driver (which we appreciated after a couple days with some wild Uber drivers). Xochimilco is truly special experience and one of the highlights of our CDMX trip. You could get to Xochimilco and do it on your own, but having a guide made it really enjoyable and easy. We learned a ton from Jaime. He provided plenty of information without overwhelming us - a perfect balance. Love that the day also included Coyoacan (super cute to walk around and loved the market there) and the Frida Kahlo house. Highly recommend, worth every penny!

Fantastic tour- catered to our family's needs!
Paola was amazing, very patient with our kids, asked them questions. Had a scavenger hunt for them while in the museum. It was well worth the money to not have to worry about driving and have the whole day taken care of! We loved her!

          Excellent ...with Jaime!!
Jaime was excellent as a guide and host. There were some wonderful history lessons. The Xochimilco boat ride was excellent and loved the food. And so was the history underlying Coyoacan as well as learnt a lot about Frida Kahlo. I would strongly recommend this private tour...very convenient, private..our family only. And ask for Jaime. He will take care of you.

Imagine meeting up with Alton Brown for a trip to the biggest farmer’s market ever, complete with explanations of all the foods and people there…and then he takes you to his friend Bobby Flay’s kitchen where he and Bobby teach you to make a classic meal—including sending you home with the recipes. Ricardo Bonilla and Luis Alfonso Garduño are leaders in the effort to recognize Mexican cuisine as a global heritage. They are wonderful teachers and hilarious guys. They even succeeded in teaching my husband to use an immersion blender. Our guide Jaime gave us unique insights into CDMX and gave us the scoop on which pan dulces to order for breakfast at El Cafe Popular. Highly recommend this experience and can’t wait to make these dishes at home!

This was one of the best experiences I have had traveling. Ricardo, Manolo, and Patricia made sure we had the most special day while also helping us to better understand and appreciate the history, complexity (and deliciousness!!!) of Mexican cooking. It felt like spending the day with your family, it was relaxed, fun, and I feel like I learned so much and am ready to cook at home. The fact you get to spend so much time with people so knowledgeable and so passionate is unmatched by any other experience like this i have done. Do not hesitate, book this experiece, it will make your time in Mexico City so much more rich.

Our culinary adventure with Stepping Mexico surpassed our expectations! You start at the Mercado. It's packed with local products and ingredients. Here you tour the market, with a stop at one of the establishments, getting a taste of what locals eat. Next you arrive at the cooking class, which is intimate and personal. We learned not just the recipes and about their ingredients but also about the history and origin of our meal. This is a hands on class where you will be part of the process in the kitchen. After preparing the food, we all shared our multi-course meal together. An immersive Mexican experience with our hosts Jamie, Ricardo and Chef Alfonso who were just amazing, we can’t say enough about them!

This was by far and away the best part of our trip. The history of food in Mexico, mini tour of Coyoacan and of course, making mole were amazing. This class is 100% worth the time and money you spend on it. Cannot recommend it enough.

What an amazing experience and when I can highly recommend! Jamie picked us up from our hotel and gave us a history lesson about Mexico City and their neighborhood. He was a joy and so easy going. Then we met Ricardo at the market and we were blown away by his experience w the history of Mexican food and the culture and his explanation of everything in the market , then we walked to our cooking class and again had a nice history lesson.

We met our amazing Chef and we started our cooking class. I travel all over the world and have attended many classes, but this one beats them all. What fun we had, and I picked up many cooking techniques to take back home w me. Food was amazing and I would highly recommend!!

Do not think twice about booking, great experience!

A friend, her daughter, and I had a fantastic day doing a Mexican cooking class. We were picked up at our hotel by Jaime, taken to the market in Coyoacán where we were joined by Ricardo, then to the class with the chef. We shopped together, learned some of the history of the food and the area, then cooked and ate together with the chef. These three guys were so generous and friendly and we really enjoyed our time with them. I would highly recommend this company.

Our cooking tour was fabulous. We chose an afternoon tour rather than breakfast. First our pickup driver and translator, Jaime, was charming and informative. On our first stop at el mercado de Coyoacan, we were met by Ricardo, a gastronomical expert and food critic whose breadth of knowledge was amazing. If it weren’t for the fact that our « Chef » awaited us we could have happily spent hours with him! Then an amazing cooking class and meal with Chef Alfonso. We chose to continue our evening by adding a specialty coffee tasting to our tour when we realized that Alfonso also had a passion for coffee as we do. But the best part was getting to know a bit about the lives of these three Mexicans and simply enjoy laughing and enjoying an afternoon and evening together.

Pick up was on time. Driver, Jaime, was knowledgeable and friendly. Took us to meet Ricardo at the market in Coyoacán. Ricardo was extremely knowledgeable with Mexican cuisine and made starting the day a pleasure. Guided us through the market explaining the food and it’s origins. Then went to meet Manolo, the chef, where we began the cooking experience. It was fun and Manolo made sure everyone was involved in the food preparation. Food and drinks were delicious. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommended.

The cooking class was wonderful and met the wildly diverse needs of a family with two adults and two young children: one academic who speaks Spanish and knows Mexico City really well, one passionate non-Spanish-speaking chef, a six-year-old who knows how to handle a knife, and a baby who isn't ready for a cooking class. All four of us had a blast. I am writing this review out of the sense of obligation that such stellar hosting and education should be praised, so others will take a chance on the day in the kitchen (starting at the market, of course). You could not ask for better fun than what this experience will give you. Completely worth it. A truly meaningful engagement with local thought and long-standing practices. If you are looking for an activity that kids and adults can do together, this one is great. Make sure your young child knows "claw hand" as a knife cutting skill before your day in the kitchen. Your child will rave about this class, and if you have a baby, you'll be out of the sun and able to take care of the infant while still looking on at the action. I give this experience my top recommendation. I would do it again, in fact.
