About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Compass563661691830 contributionsGreat combo ATV CenoteExcellent combination, we did quad biking and cenote. There was also a complimentary lunch. The staff were knowledgeable and we felt safe and reassured. My partner is a skilled ATV driver and had great fun taking the backend out round the course, our group was mixed and the guide made sure everyone was ok in their own ability range. The extra insurance was a surprise but only 15dollars. Israel was our Cenote guide, such a beautiful experience, he made it really interesting, amazing to be in such a tranquil natural beauty place, again thanks to Israel we felt safe , my husband is not a confident swimmer but we had life jackets and Israel was very reassuring. Would definitely recommend. We didnt do the zip lines but those who did looked like they had lots of fun, our trip was a half day and we were picked up and dropped off at our hotel. There are also photos of your experience should you wish to purchaseWritten 11 October 2024
- Vanessa B0 contributionsChichen Itza Deluxe AV Mayas - Aventuras Mayas TourChichen Itza Deluxe AV Mayas - Aventuras Mayas Tour Great tour in a minibus with 12 passengers, unfortunately there was a mix of Spanish and English speakers; the guide, Marco, would speak for a considerable time in one language then swap to the other. Marco was very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about his history and the Mayan culture and calendar however some of the information provided was very long winded and complex, he talked for most of the 2-hour journey from Playacar to Chichen Itza. We would have preferred a slightly abridged version. Alone time enabling us to take photos was also limited at Chichen Itza following the guided tour, again, we would have preferred that to be longer as it’s such an amazing place. It was extremely hot and humid, the umbrella provided to us along with the numerous bottles cold water was much appreciated. The enclosed cenote was amazing, the zip wire was fun and it was great that the life jackets and locker key were included as well as the buffet, which was ok. Not a lot to see around the square in Valladolid, hence only 30 min stop.Written 11 October 2024
- 852mitchelf0 contributionsMayan Adventure - HARDLY - waste of $We took this tour from Bahia PrĂncipe Tulum. To give it one star is generous . And I’m not just grinding an axe here. We were rushed. Our tour guide’ was disinterested, not nearly as knowledgeable as he should be about where we were and what we were seeing , seemed like he didn’t want to be there. Like that. We saw….nothing. The zip line was lame. The lunch that was included would have been better if it came from McDonalds. There were few fish - tropical or otherwise. We spent almost as much time in the transport van as we did for the entire outing which was supposed to be from 7:40am to 3:30pm. We were back at the hotel by 1:30pm. Waste of time. Waste of money. Bienvenio a Mexico. 🇲🇽Written 2 October 2024
- moisah0 contributionsAmazing!!I usually do not book excursions but I wanted to zip line and this was the most amazing excursion. The bus ride was long but worth it. Aaron was the person showing us everything and he was sooooo great! He was nice and personable. The food was great I just recommend catching breakfast in the morning. The gifts are kind of expensive but it is a business. The time and money was well spent! I would book this trip again…Written 2 October 2024

- tiffanybH4714PJ0 contributionsAbsolutely horrendousWhere do I even begin? First, we were told this was a 20-30 minute drive from our resort. Wrong! Try an hour and a half. And that was only to the Aventuras Maya’s “base camp” where we had to then get in another van that drove us another half hour to the first location. Upon arrival at the first location, we were quickly hearded like cattle (there had to be atleast 100 people there) to an outrageously crowded but tiny platform where you can either zip line or cliff jump into a Cenote. Me, being nervous and afraid to get hurt, opted to simply walk down the stairs into the frigid and murky waters. I made it down two steps before realizing that the rubber mat on the 3rd step was missing which then caused me to slip on the algae covered step and slice my foot open in two spots on a jagged piece of metal petruding from the step. I got out of the water, in pain and bleeding everywhere, and the first thing my tour guide said to me was “this is not refundable” I ignored that statement and asked for a first aid kit so I could wash my foot out. She begrudgingly came back with a tiny cup of ice water to pour on it and 1 singular bandaid that was toddler sized. She insisted on putting the bandaid on me and put it in the completely wrong spot and hurt me more while doing so. My tour guide then found me again and handed me a paper and forced me to sign it saying I am aware it is non refundable. And as crazy as I am, I am certainly not crazy enough to argue in the middle of the jungle over money in Mexico with strangers. So I reluctantly signed the paper. I was forced to sit out on the rest of the excursion and so was my poor husband who didn’t want to leave me alone to go snorkeling in the very gray, dull, and underwhelming waters of the glorified rain puddles they charged us $200 to take us to. The food they provided was barely edible as well, but that was the least of my worries. I read a few reviews on here saying these people don’t know the first thing about first-aid god forbid of an emergency, but I wrote it off. Thank god I was not more seriously injured because they didn’t even have a basic first-aid kit. All in all, it took almost 2 hours of travel to go to 2 different spots and do 30 min of each activity. It was SO rushed and there were SO MANY people. It was NOT enjoyable in the slightest even if I didn’t hurt myself. There is more stuff that happened, but this alone should be enough to deter someone from booking this. I urge you, reader, to find a better excursion to spend your money on. This one is NOT IT.Written 25 July 2024
- stephencS8242WI0 contributionsGreat experience! We very much enjoyed this activity. Maldo - our guide was great and the snorkeling in the cenote and cave were such a different and great experience. Snorkeling in the cove was also great, and there were a surprising number of fish! It can get a bit crowded, and many folks stir up the sediment, and it can get a little cloudy. This did not detract from our experience. We would definitely do it again!Written 11 July 2024
- efustok0 contributionsTruly a Mayan adventureDear readers, this was an adventure…first of all “our boy Johnathon” was a fantastic guide…he made it so much more fun…he’s so affable, and a jokester! We started at the cenote where we got to free fall or zip line into it…it’s chilly water so be prepared. Then we went to the cave, where the stalagmites were amazing..this was incredible…water was cold, but I tried ignoring it since it was truly magical. There are bats flying around as well, added to the atmosphere. Then we had lunch, it was delicious, watch out for the spicy sauce, it’s a killer…then we headed to the lagoon..it was beautiful…we saw so many fish, crabs, and natural beauty. I highly recommend water shoes…and bring a change of clothes. Even with the rain we had a wonderful time.Written 9 July 2024
- P7774TBstacyr0 contributionsAmazing excursion! We loved this excursion. Luis F. was our guide - he is knowledgeable and friendly. He went above and beyond to make our day enjoyable. We went to Tulum, then enjoyed a Mexican lunch, followed by zip lining, repelling, and swimming in a cenote. Luis was with us for it all, and we enjoyed his company.Written 5 July 2024
- CaraSW0 contributionsGorgeous waters from underground riversThis was an amazing experience. The water in inlet was what you would expect if you have snorkeled in the ocean before. But the cenote and the cave were spectacular. The cave in particular was my favorite. Such beauty. Jonathan was our very experienced guide and he made the day fun, informative, and full of wonder. I highly recommend this. Don't forget to lather up the sunscreen before you leave your resort in the morning, you will not be allowed to put any on at the snorkeling locations because of the damage that it can do to the eco systems.Written 2 July 2024
- 916erikm0 contributionsDecent tour but too much road time. Be prepared for the hard sell to purchase additional insurance! My family consisting of myself, my wife, and three children ages 16-21 decided on this tour because it provided a variety of activities that appealed to each member of the family. Pickup at our hotel was timely at promptly 8:00 am. After a 30 minute van ride south we arrived at a type of depot where we met up with other people participating in the same activities. From there it was about another 30 minute van ride to the cenote. There were lots of groups from the tour company so we had to wait our turn to go into the cenote. Once inside it was about a 50 yard swim to a spot where they had you pose for a photo opportunity, then you swam back outside and waited for someone to try to sell you the photo. Another 30-45 minute drive to Yal-ku Lagoon where we snorkeled. This stop lasted about 30 minutes and we were able to see plenty of tropical fish. My main complaint about this portion was we were only given face masks and not the full snorkel setup. This prevented us from simply keeping our faces in the water the entire time; rather, we had to pull our faces out of the water to take each breath. Another 30-45 minute van ride and we arrived at the ATV/zipline property. There was also a buffet lunch (with decent, basic food) served at this location. Our package included 3 of the 7 zipline stops, which was about right for us. The last activity was the ATV ride. While the ATV ride was decent, especially for someone with little ATV experience, what turned me off the most was the "hard sell" on the additional insurance for equipment damage. The safety demonstration was merely an opportunity to put the hard sell on you to purchase the additional insurance. As the ride was a simple follow the leader type ride on level terrain it seemed there was little chance for an accident provided a person used common sense. However, I bet it was mentioned at least 10 times that insurance was highly recommended. I almost felt like I was among a group of timeshare salesmen. Finally, we were driven back to our resort in Cancun, which was about a 3 hour trip after making a couple of stops on the way back to drop other off at their resorts. While overall a decent excursion I would not recommend this particular itinerary. While the variety of activities was appealing, the driving time between activities took a considerable portion out of the day. The vans were air conditioned and in very good condition; however, it was too much road time for my liking. I would have much preferred less road time and a little more time at each of the stops. A person almost felt rushed to get through the activity so you could drive another 30+ minutes to the next stop. While decent, I was not especially impressed with our guide. He seemed to be more of an usher rather than a guide. For example, I wish he would have given more commentary on what we were doing and seeing; possibly providing a little education along the way. The worst part of the tour was the hard sell on the insurance. I would have much rather paid an extra $20 to not to be hassled for the additional purchase.Written 21 June 2024
- U6192PYcarolynt0 contributionsFun day!ATV’s were great. It was raining and super muddy which made it even more fun! Zip lining was great, so much fun. Lots of memories created today! Papichulo (Jimmy) our guide was super fun too!Written 19 June 2024
- Macy S0 contributionsGood times with the amazing Laura! We had a great excursion with Laura. Our tour group was small, only 8 people and all couples. Laura had us all picked up early, snd rides were coordinated so the hotel stops were all close to eachother. Not a huge amount of time shuttling in between hotels. We were the first tour group for the company to the cenotes that day. She kept us moving, while allowing us enough time to enjoy, so that we the first people able to enjoy each place - open cenotes, cavern cenotes, and snorkeling in Ya-Kul. As other review say, no additional hidden fees or taxes required by the tour. And the cenotes and lagoon were private for the tour company so not overly crowded. Thank you Laura for your energy and enthusiasm!! We enjoyed exploring the natural beauty of Riviera Maya!!Written 19 June 2024

- M6498QGnicoleh0 contributionsWonderful tour and amazing tour guideWe did the snorkeling, cenote and zip line half day tour. We got picked up at our resort and the drive was great. Lots to look at. Our guide (Laura) was top notch. She made the day so much fun for our entire family. She was accommodating (we had a five year old with us so needed a little extra TLC). The snorkeling was in a secluded area. It was a little murky but that's because it wasn't out in the ocean. The cenote was amazing. The kids loved the zip line and jumping off the cliffs. Highly recommend this adventure.Written 15 June 2024

They oversold the tours so we had to wait over 2 hours for our ATV ride. We paid for 2 ATVS but they only had one available after our long wait. I emailed Adventura Maya to at least get a refund but received no response. We left our hotel in Cancun at 8AM and did not get back until after 8PM due to the 2+ hour bus trip (one way) and the delay in riding the ATVs.
One a positive note, the Cenote was an excellent experience and the food was good.
Adventura Maya, vacation time is precious and limited, don't over sell your tours to maximize your profit and rob your customers of their time.

Beware booking this through Amstar at your hotel. They tell you anything to book the tour and then when you arrive, nothing is as described. Our driver spoke nearly no English. Two of us have minimal Spanish and communication was difficult. We booked and paid for a private trip as there were 9 of us already. Instead, we made another stop to pick up additional people. On the front end that was not so bad, but on return added an additional hour to our already late arrival back and almost missed our dinner reservation. As there were 3 of us who did not need to go back to the room, they held our table ((they were already 10 minutes late) while the rest of us were about 20 minutes late. We were told we would be back at the hotel around 3. We were not back until 5:30. Before booking, we asked multiple questions and were assured that my son in law, who is missing an arm could drive the ATV as he has his own ATV and rides often at many different locations with no problem. This did not happen when we arrived at the ATV part. The tour guide refused to let him. As an ATV enthusiast, he was really mad. We were also warned to buy insurance, which was totally unneccesary. We spent an additonal $90 for this scam. We were also told that we could stay near the ramp at the cenote and that was not true. The life jackets we were given failed to hold air and we never received snorkle gear or fins. It is a rough kick through the river without them. Most of us turned back as the cenote was deep and the life jackets were useless. Of the nine of us, only two completed the entire cenote experience. Our tour guide at Tulum was only there for the first building and then left. This is easily a 10 hour trip., closer to 11 hours. Given the opportunity, we would not do this again.

Loved everything. Had a lot of fun, lunch was good ATVs were awesome. My fiance loved the cenotes One minor thing was the driver gave us a hard time about using a mobile ticket which was strange since he had our names on his paperwork. Otherwise everything was perfect.

Fun experience overall time was 12 hours not seven so that stretched a little long. Only 40 minutes a TV so that was slightly disappointing as that is what I wanted to do most. Overall good experience and value

This was a perfect blend for my husband and I. Our tour guide Erica was both knowledgeable and pleasantly hilarious. The three activities: Tulum, jungle ATV ride, and cenotes swim did not disappoint. The buffet lunch was tasty, the shredded pork was cooked and seasoned to perfection. When I changed into my flip flops for the cenote swim I mistakenly left my brand new $130 running shoes. Erica went above and beyond by finding them and returning them promptly the following morning.

Booked through Trip Advisor (recommended). Some others on our trip booked with their hotel and were uninformed on additional pricing.
They emailed us about a week prior to our tour date with logistics and we had a 7:45 am call time. We had to call at 7:50 to make sure we didn't miss our bus and they insured us 10 more minutes. Sure enough, a van pull up about 5 minutes later with another couple in the van. We picked up one additional couple and was then off to our meeting point.
The drive is about an hour long and we stopped at their "hub" like meeting point since our driver was not our tour guide for the day. They offered restrooms, coffee, seating (hammocks and benches), and a foosball table. About 5-10 minutes later Amet Garcia called us to join his tour. Amet explains our schedule for the day as well as passes out wristbands for Tulum.
Of we go to Tulum Archaeological Zone (20-minute ride). We were greeted by another gentleman who is our tour guide for the site. He gave around an hour tour and then let us explore and take pictures for an additional hour. In the provided wristbands was a bus ride from the parking lot to the site. Would recommend that you give yourself around 20 minutes to make it from the Archaeological Zone to the parking lot. It's about .5 miles. The bus will wait until it's more full to take off. You also have the option to walk.
We then proceeded back north to the Aventuras Mayas campsite. Amet was great and took us on a roller coaster ride in the van with "Welcome to the Jungle" playing as we drove through the rough terrain with speed.
They gave us lockers to store our stuff while we were there for the rest of the excursion.
Lunch consisted of roasted chicken and pork, rice, beans, mashed potatoes, and a mini salad bar. The food alone was 5 stars!
The ATVs we're amazing. This was our 5th time ATVing and we never experienced a trail like this. ATVs are fully automatic with an available hand break for all 4 wheels. Honey and I chose the single rider option but there was an option for doubles. The ATV insurance is an extra $15 USD per ATV or $25 USD for 1 ATV with 2 drivers. You must be at least 16 to drive and 8 to ride as a passenger. Would recommend purchasing insurance as our ATVs scrapped a few times on the rough terrain.
When we finished with the ATVs we went back to change to get in the cenote. Would recommend water shoes as the walk there and back is gravel and there are some sharp rocks in the cenote. They provided mini snorkel gear and a small life vest for advanced swimmers or a larger "floating" life jacket for beginners or inexperienced swimmers. Advanced swimmers can use their snorkel gear to view more of the cave that is underwater. Amet was a great guide taking us through the cenote and explaining the history and type of rocks. You have to watch your feet and head in these things the rocks creep up on you. The tour was short ( ~10 minutes) and you will have a limited time to swim and explore the cenote yourself.
We changed clothes in their changing stations and went and looked at our pictures. Pictures are 2 for 25 or they email you the whole album for $45 within 24 hours of purchase. The album consisted of 20+ pictures therefore we opted for that whole album option.
From there we were bussed back to our respective hotels.
Overall would recommend. They do kind of rush you by giving you only 5 minutes to change or switch activities.

My boyfriend and I had such an incredible experience with Aventuras Mayas! We were recommended the excursion by a Transat representative and we are so glad we decided to do it! We did the Tulum Ruins, ATV and Cenote combination. Our day started off when our guide, Memo, picked us up from our resort and then from there we picked up another couple from a nearby resort. Then we stopped off at their headquarters to pick up two other couples. Once we had our group (4 couples), we headed off to the Aventuras Mayas property where we were provided a locker to store personal belongings while we rode the ATVs and swam in the Cenotes. We were then provided a lunch before heading off the the Tulum ruins. At the ruins, we were handed off to a different guide who provided us a history of the Tulum ruins before letting us explore on our own. At the end, we met back with Memo who drove us back to our respective resorts. I cannot thank Memo enough for providing such a great experience! He made sure that every person was comfortable during the ATV and Cenotes experience. Definitely deserves a raise! I definitely recommend everyone to book an experience with Aventuras Mayas.

This was such a great excursion. We started with the ruins in Tulum which was extremely beautiful the energy was peaceful on the grounds and David our guide, was so cool, very informative. After we went Atving which was awesome the trails were fun. And Israel was really great and sooo kind to let me tag along with him in the Cenote after I told him I wasn't a strong swimmer. He kept me safe and the rest of the tour while giving the history about the Cenote. And our lunch was soo good that day. I still think about the mash potatoes with the chicken ooooo so good! Definitely recommending this to my friends. Thank you to David and Israel for making my trip even more memorable!

Is there any way to add the ziplines to this package or would there not be enough time?
