- 1Holbox Island in Mexico has become the dream of travelers who love alternative tourism, nature and non-mainstream destinations. Start early in the morning and we will take you to Chiquila on a comfortable air-conditioned transport. Once at Chiquila jump on a boat to get the adventure going. You can swim in cenote Yalahau, which is hidden in the mangrove, visit Isla Pasion to watch some beautiful birds. In Isla Holbox have options to have lunch at a private beach club and after eating we will get on a golf cart to see the main tourist attractions of the island. Flamingos, pelicans and herons… incredible! Isla Holbox is prized by bird scholars for its population of exotic avian life. Located close to the Yucatan Peninsula, the island is also a popular spot for whale shark sightings and kiteboarders love the shallow waters and long beaches. The white sand streets are practically untouched since most tourists prefer to go to have fun in Cancun which is very close.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- F9763POsharonh0 contributionsDo not book this trip. They cancelled on us 20 minutes before we were supposed to leave. Other tour operators in the area told us this excursion is charging $50usd more than most in the area. Do not recommend booking through trip advisor. We lost out on visiting Chichén Itzá, Valladolid, and cenote hubiku on our last day. There was no time to reschedule anything else so our time was wasted thanks to TripAdvisor. Wait until you get to playa and then book with companies there that have reps all over town. That is what I’m going to do next time. Not have my valuable time wasted by trip advisor.Written 4 February 2025
- jamisons5020 contributionsGreat service, private van, Ruins & Cenotes tourWe were very pleased with their service! They provided us with a private van for eight adults, and took us to the Mayan runs in Tulum, swimming at 4 Cenotes and a buffet taco lunch at Casa Tortuga, and then to see the Mother Earth statue south of Tulum —- all for $150 per person. (If you are in Cancun its cheaper without the private van) We were picked up at 9am in a very nice van and the driver stayed with us all day until he brought us home at 6 PM. We spent as much time at each stop as we wanted, it was great! The driver even stopped at gas station so we could fill up our cooler with drinks for the day. Overall I would highly recommend MyCancunTours for everything from Cancun to Tulum and all areas in between.Written 1 February 2025
- Explorer402593722080 contributionsA meh tourI messaged the tour company directly but no one replied or addressed our issues. So I’ll post it here. we only got to our first stop at 12:30pm which is a long time since pick up was 7:20am. We returned to the hotel 11pm as we were the last stop. However our group encountered major issues with Ivan the tour guide. (I think that’s his name) honestly we didn’t even know his name. He lacked communication. In almost all of the stops he failed to give us a return time, therefore other guests on the bus with us were asking each other return time etc and no one knew because he didn’t say. This lead to a lot of scrambling. I know there’s a no water bottle policy at tulum however it would have been helpful if this information was provided before, meaning on the tour write up so we would have been prepared with the proper water. The sun was extremely hot and the walk was long, completely unbearable without water. Tulum was the most anticipated stop for me and I was highlight disappointed. Our tour guide looked rushed and uninterested. We were NOT given any free time in tulum. He brought us to the exit and told us to walk back or take the carts. I did not know that was the end of the tour and didn’t even get to explore properly or get good pictures. We were all disappointed. Coba and playa del Carmen were enjoyable. Altogether I think it’s a lot of a tour in one day but our guide kept saying “we have to run if we want to see” “there’s not enough time” “we need to rush” etc which just demotivated us entirely. Either the company needs to cut down on the length of time spent during pick up/ drop offs- and allocate set pick up/ drop off spots, or shorten the stops on this tour.Written 10 January 2025
- YuliaV620 contributionsGood tripYou have to be ready for a long day. The only thing I did not like that they do not do pick up at all of the resorts. We had to pay extra $100 for taxi to get to the pick up location and back. Also, the drop of time was around 9.30 pm, and after that we had to look for taxi with the kid and that was very uncomfortable. Other then that the trip was good.Written 24 December 2024
- Travel5158410 contributionsNo pink beach at las coloradasYou will be truly dissapointed when you get there after hours driving from Merida, Cancun or whenever you get there from, the truth is the pink water are square ponds that the the company that industrializes salt made for pink salt, there is not a beach there, once you get close by a bunch of men in motorcycles tells you you have to go with them paying 350 pesos per person and they walk you in front of the pink ponds 😳 a walk you can do by yourself, they are a union so you can’t go to the beach which is across those square ponds! Not worth it at all!Written 7 September 2024
- Gh0stDrag0n10 contributionsLong day, but worth it!Amazing tour, packed full of activities the whole day. Tour guide was witty and pleasant and made sure everyone knew where to go and where to be at what times. Loved that they picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. Was closer to a 14 hour day then 10 hours.Written 21 March 2024
- Slawomir20140 contributionsLack of organization and lost money. It was my second tour with the MycancunTour. The first few years ago was very good. This time on 14th.03.2024 the trip to Tulum, Coba...was terrible. We were taken at 6.40 from our hotel, transferem to Cancun and waited for the bus. The trip to Tulum should 90 minute as program said. We got to Tulum at 12.00!! Rest of the trip We spent in a hurry. There were 2 groups. English and Spanish. So the tourist guide in Tulum said almost nothing and he offered us a 40 minute free time. We learned nothing!! Visiting Coba? We were told. Just go and see... No historical info... The most of the day we spent in the bus and running in effort to see anything. Totally lack of organization. Lost moneyWritten 15 March 2024
- katiehE1063OO0 contributionsCanceled with no notificationThis experience was absolutely horrible. We paid $125 per person for a catamaran cruise. The catamaran was canceled due to weather. Understandable for sure! But, we didn't know until we have already bussed 1 hour to Cancun that the excursion was canceled. They gave us options. But, we had to make a decision without truly understanding what was included. We got no drinks, food or adventure included with that $125. If we would have had some sort of notification that the cruise had been canceled, we would have made other arrangements. It was a huge disappointment and I will be contacting TripAdvisor about our "excursion"Written 9 March 2024
- RLEiting0 contributionsMisleading advertising! We did the Isla Mujeres with lunch & hotel pick up tour. The advertising and website are very misleading. The boat was very large with a lot of people. (It would have been nice to have the max number of people allowed put on the website, as this would have affected our decision to book with this company). They state the guides are bilingual, however, the English was very limited. It seemed 3-4 sentences in Spanish to one sentence in English, and the English was very difficult to understand. Thus, the communication was not clear as to instructions, etc. They advertise lunch at the "beach club" and then tour the Island. They took us to the Island BEFORE lunch so everyone was starving by the time we actually got to the lunch. They did not tell us we needed an ID to rent a golf cart on the island. The "beach club" was not the beach club as expected, but was actually a "Dolphin Discovery", which they pushed for us to buy (extra) the entire time we were on the boat. The lunch at the Dolphin Discovery was ok. The open bar and area to relax were nice. Overall, we were quite disappointed with this tour and would not use this company again.Written 8 February 2024
- KtC3140 contributionsPrivate tour: perfect for Family with special needsTulum, Coba, cenotes swim, Chococacao Maya making chocolate, honey & soap. Family of 10 in a private van. Our family Our has a person with a special need, (military veteran), so we could not just go on one of the big buses with 40 people. Thus private van tour was perfect: small, safe, clean, flexible and could accommodate our special need. Our tour guide, Esther, was fabulous! She was very friendly, enthusiastic about Mayan culture. Esther went the extra mile with visual props (leather painted scrolls, wooden mask), photos (of historical figures and the ruins) maps, and even her Mayan horoscope which she shared and passed around for us. Our driver, Fernando, did a great job getting us safely to all the different locations. He had good humour. Huge fan of the family who run Chococacao Maya. (Sorry, can’t remember their names) The husband showed us the stingless Mexican honey bees, let us taste the unique honey and how to make soap. He let us grind cocoa beans on his grandmother’s antique stone, assisted by his son. Meanwhile, his wife in the kitchen cooked up the tastiest mole I’ve ever had (from a secret old family recipe) The cenote at Chococacao was simply beautiful, with well maintained access steps & ramp, as well as a railing and rope for safety. The bathrooms were clean, spacious and had a (cold) shower. We purchased honey and soap. This small family venue was perfect for our veteran to enjoy the cenote without the crowds. The only improvement I would make would be if Esther could have taught us all that interesting Mayan history and culture in the van drive to Tulum, instead of in Tulum grounds. This would have given more time to wander around the ruins before we got too hot. She did the background education in the car on the way to Coba, so we had more time there. Esther was a real brave soul at Coba, continuing her tour talk despite the sudden tropical rain. It’s ok, we all dried off when the sun returned. Thank you, Esther , for the great tour. We really appreciated the insight into Mayan culture, both historical and current.Written 24 January 2024

- 832carmelam0 contributionsWorst tour everAwful! As any other tour I tried to do with them. The guide hut on me and cancelled the bike tour without even asking us. The cenote was ugly and dirty. The guide barely spoke English. Don’t book with them.Written 6 December 2023

- 832carmelam0 contributionsAbsolutely awfukAbsolutely awful. The guide didn’t even look for me or shouted my name. I was right in front of the hotel and he left without me. The costumer service was absolutely awful. Kept not replying to me and I ended up waiting almost an hour for a bus that had left.Written 6 December 2023

Loved the tour overall , visit 3 islands and boat was fine getting there. Transportation to and from hotel very disorganized. Huge bus with lots of people. Also once in Hoblox the restaurant not so great and they give you 3 hours free time. Your not familiar with place or where to go, I went with kids and just went straight to beach. Wanted to get seats or umbrella to rent but not available and expensive. There was no golf cart to rent so couldn’t explore island. They should have those reserved in case people want them.

Wonderfully beautiful place. Fun and relaxation guaranteed.
Far from the world of luxury like Cancun or Tulum.
Recommendation to young people to get lost in this lost paradise.

The description was not accurate. Once arriving at Holbox there was no golf cart and no driving around any tourist attractions like the descriptions says. This was basically here is Holbox here is your lunch please be back on boat in 3 hours. There is cheaper option to travel Holbox. The guide was helpful and tried his best get us a golf cart but could not get approved by the travel company. PLEASE USE A DIFFERENT OPTION
