        Amazing trip!
We absolutely LOVED our trip! It was one of the highlights of our holiday! From the start, the communication regarding pick up time and what we needed to bring was clear, the vehicle AC was wonderful, and our guide Noe (Noeh) was fantastic. He took great care to explain every little details at the start of our trip and gave us some wonderful history on the areas we were passing and visiting. I would recommend this trip time and time again. Las Coloradas is beautiful, we loved boating through the mangroves and the Mexican mud body mask was great - especially washing it off at a beautiful beach afterwards! The lunch was pretty good too, I had fish and my hsuband had the chicken and both came with fries, salad, rice and a delicious mango salsa! If you're in the area, definitely book this trip! The only downside, and it is minor, the life jackets on the mangrove trip were not fit for purpose, the clips did not remain fastened. Luckily we didn't need them, but it was pointless wearing them!

        Great Tulum tour!
My friends and I took their Riviera Maya: Tulum Ruins and 2 Cenotes Half-Day Tour. Booked through Get Your Guide site. Our tour was with the English tour guide, Jorje, he was great and very knowledgeable. Kept the tour interesting and gave time for pictures. The 2 cenotes were very cool to experience.

        Tour Tulum cenotes Akumal
The guide Mauricio was at all times very kind and explained us in detail about Mayan culture, the buffet was delicious, with variety and abundant (drinks not included but available there) the cenotes were amazing, the overall instalations were very clean, the staff very nice. Due to climate inconveniences we weren't able to swim with turtles but we were informed and got a refund. The driver José was very responsible. Overall it was a great experience, totally worth it!

This day trip was truly an incredible experience. The locations we visited were pure paradise. Our tour guide was great and the customer service over the phone were lifesavers helping us when we initially missed our bus pick-up.

Excellent balance of history, natural wonders and then there are the turtles …
The professional tour leaders Moo and Estrella plus Moises and Carlos the driver were amazing. Moo’s knowledge about Mayan history coupled with his language skills (moving effortlessly back and forth between English and Spanish) are all impressive. Estrella’s knowledge at the Cenotes about Mayan language and stones was well presented. Carlos navigated difficult dirt roads and Moises efficiently got me to the turtle swimming point and back to the rest of the tour. Transfers. The initial transfer to the main bus took longer than expected but I am sure the logistics of getting all of us from different hotels to the same place is a challenge. Patience. It is worth it and the team did a great job. Also going home they had to track down a lost passenger but they all did it with a lot of patience. This is a long day for us but even longer for all the staff. As for the tours. I don’t want to give away too much because some things are better left as part of your personal experience The Tulum Archeological site was my least favorite part because so many other tourists and construction going on. But we had a fabulous presentation by Moo before on the bus that continued on our walk in the ruins. Once we got to the cenotes that is when all the best things started to happen. Swimming, bats, buffet, Mayan artistry. Then swimming with turtles. Ecological, biological, magical.

        Turtles but no turtles
We booked this trip to visit the Tulum ruins and swim with the turtles as a special treat for my wife. And a cenote visit. The ruins were very interesting in a stunning location. Getting to the cenote was an "experience" but once there they were good. The coffee show was interesting as was the village healer section. But even tho we had paid Trip advisor for this excursion we had to pay 350 pesos each extra when we got on the coach for the day?? Didn't like that as we thought we'd already paid in full when booking the trip. Any way the guide was good and did his best. But we felt the day was getting on and after the healer section and we got back on the coach (at approx 3.30pm? ) the guide said he'd heard from the Turtle people that it was to rough seas to do their bit?? Shame but the guide did give back the 350 peso each he'd taken in the morning fair play. He arranged transport back to our hotels for those who wanted too. Others went to do some shopping in Playa Carmen. All in we'd give this a miss next time. Not worth the day out. Try something else maybe.

Administrative issue on Tulum and Cenotes half day tour
There was a mix up with the wrist bands for the ruins. We needed copper ones but half the group was given brown ones. This led us to get in line for purchasing tickets, but the cashier wouldn't let the guide buy 30 tickets with cash so we all had to purchase our own. We were reimbursed later however this issue took 1.5 hours to correct and was a massive mess. The good is that our guides tried their hardest to fix the mistake efficiently. Thanks to Luis and Fernando for how hard they tried to fix the issue and still make it a good experience. We also still got to enjoy the full tour and our time was not cut short. Luis was extremely informative on the tour, he gave lots of really interesting history on the Mayans and ruins. The cenotes were beautiful and refreshing. Tip: bring snacks. They provide a granola bar on the bus and a drink at the cenotes but because of our delay I personally was hangry by the time we got to the hotel. Even without the delay, the time between pick up and drop off you'll likely be hungry.

An unforgettable tour, for all great reasons!
Manny was a wonderful tour guide. I highly recommend the full day tour from Merida to Chichen Itza, followed by a visit to Valladolid, a charming colonial city, complemented with swimming in cenote chichikan. Everything was perfectly coordinated between Manny and Louis, our driver. An unforgettable day!

        Ek Balam with Jesus/Gerry/Fernando
This tour exceeded all our expectations. The guides were amazing. Jesus gave us so much knowledge on the Mayan both on the bus and once on site. This site was a step into the Mayan world different than Coba and Chichenitza. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to learn more on the culture and history.

Cudos to Ekinox Tours for a caring tour to Tulum and Coba helping with our special needs
We throughly enjoyed the private tour for six we arranged through Ekinox to Tulum and Coba in Mexico with lunch and a visit to a cenote. We arranged a private tour to accommodate my son who uses a wheelchair. Our guide, Angle, was knowledgeable and interesting, and he and our driver went above and beyond the call of duty to help us in and out of the van and through difficult terrain. My highest recommendation. It made the trip possible for us.

Great trip to Holbox and surrounding islands...
We booked the Ekinox Holbox tour for four people through Trip Advisor and it really was a great day out. A long day though, being collected from our Playa Mujeres hotel at 7am and returning around 9pm - but absolutely worth it. Noa was a brilliant guide from the off, his english was perfect and he was super funny and informative. Francisco and Maria the other two guides we really helpful and lovely too. We went to 2 islands before Holbox where you saw so much wildlife (including wild Flamingo's and eagles) and then 2.5 hrs on Holbox. This wasn't enough time really as the island of Holbox is total paradise.... Maybe plan a couple of nights stay on this island as it has so much to offer... The last island was the Yalahau Cenote (more open than the ones on the main land) in a mangrove area and it was a refreshing fresh water dip before we headed back to the main land. The 8 man boat you travel round in is basic - but ideal for the bombing around on the sea all day. They provide a nice lunch on board and drinks all day too. You're collected in small AC vans fro your hotel and then transferred to a larger coach to take you to the port to board your small boat for the day. I would say each way was around 2.5 hrs on the large coach. The 4 of us had a great day and we would all highly recommend this trip to Holbox....

The day started with one guide, Juan, accusing me of moving his backpack and sitting in a seat we shouldn't... and he was insistent despite the fact that he was wrong.

No free time to do our own photos as a couple at Chichen Itza, the guided your went on and on and a 5 min read of a pamphlet would have given the same info. I'm a fan of guided tours but this was ridiculous.

Lunch was to be provided at a cooperative which had a shop that was hugely commercialized and high pressure. After that it took forever to get food which was mediocre at best.

The cenote was fine enough, and Valladolid was charming.

The tour went way over time and our pickup driver chased our bus down to collect us before it went all the way to Cancun. Saved us over an hour... we were supposed to be back at the hotel at 630pm, it was after 8pm when we got back. We lost our dinner reservations, and the entire day was just a mess.

We have complained to our Sunwing rep and apparently other guests from other hotels have had similar experiences recently.

Let me start by saying the tour guides and the bus were wonderful, they did a great job. However, this tour is not what we expected. First of all, there were only four of us who spoke English on the tour. Therefore very little was in English was spoken and we felt that we should've known this up front. We had to stop several times at 15 mins each to wait for public buses of local people who were going on the tour to show up and get on our bus. Also, you are only allowed 2 hours at Chichen Itza. The Cenote stop was fun, but the other stops are only to get money to the locals from us "rich Americans." You can tell the tour company has a set up with the vendors in the "Mayan village" to buy souvenirs, which despite what they tell you, are the same as everywhere else. Ironically, we had all the time in the world to stop there to buy stuff. The stop in Villadolid was a complete waste of time, there is nothing to see there other than more street vendors who you have to refuse over and over again, would've been better just to come home earlier. All in all it was a 13 hour day which should've only been maybe 9 tops.

This tour operator is unethical in a variety of aspects. They have their guides lie and scam you repeatedly. We were told this would be a tour from 8am to 6pm, with lunch included, and stops at Chichen Itza, a cenote, and Valladolid.

The tour guide disparaged the vendors in Chichen Itza and encouraged the guests to wait to buy goods in the next market we'd visit afterwards. At Chichen Itza, the guides repeatedly said we needed to get back to the bus at 12:15pm and they'd leave stragglers behind immediately. In Chichen Itza, the guides were droning on while having guests just stand looking at one spot for ages, so my family broke away and looked around ourselves before returning to the bus at 12:12pm. We loved the ruins. The driver was shocked at "how early" we came back, and the tour guides returned with the rest of the groups at 12:45pm.

While riding to lunch, the guides try to sell you overpriced "personalized" horoscopes. The lunch is in a "factory town" the tour company has created, and is a poor buffet where you have to pay extra for any drinks, even water, and they won't let you bring water in. The drinks are outrageously priced. They claim that the food is traditional Mayan fare and then serve spaghetti in marinara sauce, and repeatedly demand tips. Then they take you to some pointless "activities" in the factory town before taking you to their market, which sells the same stuff as other vendors but at a ridiculously high markup "because their products are the only authentic ones.". All of this was not in the tour description.

We double back towards Chichen Itza to go to a cenote instead of continuing away, presumably because this particular cenote gives them the best kickback and/or because their"factory town" is in a suboptimal place. The cenote, too, prohibited bringing water inside. I did like swimming in the cenote a lot.

Then we had to go back through the "factory town" on our way to Valladolid. The stop at Valladolid was nice but really really short and then we headed back for good. Our tour actually returned at 9:30pm rather than at the promised 6pm, so we were starving because lunch was awful.

I'm glad I got to see Chichen Itza, swim in a cenote, and at least glimpse Valladolid. I'd recommend finding a better tour operator though.

Chichen Itza was amazing and our tour guide was kind and helpful. The logistics of picking up and dropping off from the bus were HORRIBLE. We had an extra 2.5 hours on the tour bus just because our resort was picked up first and dropped off last. The extra visit at the little city was pointless. We missed our dinner reservation because we were misled on how long the tour would be. I would recommend booking a shorter tour - they tried to fit too many things in with too little time.

Our pickup was slightly late (10 mins) but I didn’t mind. Our tour guide Carlos was amazing at communicating to the group in English and Spanish. I was seriously impressed! When we got to Chichen Itza we split into an English group, and a Spanish group. The other tour guide became our English guide, though unfortunately his English wasn’t as strong as Carlos so it was more difficult to follow along. I feel like we got enough time in Chichen Itza, and towards the end we went off on our own before having to meet at the bus.

The time spent on the bus was pretty long (~1h45 from Cancun to Chichen Itza) but Carlos made time pass with interesting info. Lunch was very good, I was impressed. The tacos 💕💕💕 I loved learning about the underground cooking process and Chaya.

Cenotes were amazing. Of course a bit crowded as it’s one of the more popular sink holes, but still really enjoyed it. Of course there wasn’t enough time, but unfortunately not enough hours in the day. Perhaps if they took 30 mins off from lunch stop (I didn’t care to shop for souvenirs for 20 mins), we could have had extra time in the cenotes?

Valladolid was cute and charming, though time is quite limited (as we were told ahead of time.) don’t get in any long lines because time goes fast and you won’t be able to see the pretty views!

Overall great day. I wish there were more hours in a day but since there’s not, this really gave me a glimpse into some Mayan culture. I’m in cancun for a limited time so i was happy to see all of these stops in one day.

Side note. Slightly regretting my decision to buy the Mayan calendar predicting your personality, etc. It seemed like a good idea in the moment but I don’t think it was worth 25$ USD.

My wife and I went on a tour last week in Cancun with Juan Carlos. He was fantastic! Passionate, informative, knowledgeable, friendly, and his ability to use his IPAD to show the tour group pictures and draw constellation designs was amazing. Best tour guide ever and he should be promoted and given a big raise.

My friends and I booked the 12 hour excursion that included a visit to Chichen Itza, lunch at a traditional Mayan restaurant, a dip in a cenote, and a stop in Valladolid. We were picked up on time and the ride was smooth and comfortable.
Ricardo and Carlos and were our guides. They were very knowledgeable, showed so much enthusiasm, kept us engaged and made sure we were comfortable during the entire experience. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip.

First, I need to say that this tour was booked through our resort, so there may be some variation.

There were incredible parts of this trip and parts that were not so good. Chichen Itza is amazing and definitely worth a visit. The cenote was also quite amazing. However poor time management and cramming too many things prevented these activities from being as great as they were.

The bus was late to pick us up and then it is a long 3-4 hours to Chichen Itza (it depends on what order they pick you up). While the bus guides were knowledgeable, they would switch between English and Spanish so quickly that it was often difficult to understand what they were saying. Everything at Chichen Itza was amazing. Our tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable and the ruins are incredible. Afterwards, we went to the the Mayan restaurant. Food was good but nothing special (and may have been the cause of our sickness afterwards). My wife and I personally felt we spent too much time there as they tried selling us things for about an hour. We then went to the cenote, which was beautiful but because of the late start and other wasted time, we barely got to swim for a half hour. The trip ended with a stop in Valladolid, which was brief but was more shopping.

All told, if we could do it over we would have preferred a tour that had less stops but spent more time at the places.

Started the day off by getting on the bus at 6:50am, it was 12:00 by the time we reached Chitzen-Itza.

Spent 2hrs at Chichen-Itza a long and drawn out tour.
Followed by a ‘traditional Mayan Village’ for lunch. It was a compound that was totally set up to look like it was traditional. Food was very average, followed by a tour around the compound where the food was cooked and then into an overpriced souvenir shop.
(We were told repeatedly not to buy souvenirs at the Chichen-Itza for this purpose)

By the time we reached Ik Kil Cenote we had one hour, by the time you queue up to get lockers and life vest the Cenote is closing, I only had time to jump in the Cenote once. An hour here isn’t long enough.

At this point, everyone was tired and wanted to go home, we stopped off at little town in the dark, where there was a church and a shop (that don’t take card).

On the bus, the tour guide spoke Spanish with the odd word in English so that was pretty irritating on a 9hr round trip when the trip stated it would be in English.

At the end of the tour we were given review forms and asked to fill out smily faces and if we had any problems to tell the tour guides.

When we were getting off the bus, the tour guide was very forceful in asking for tips. When I said I had no change he said he had no problem changing my money for me.

We were lucky we got a deal on the day out however some people on the tour paid US $130+ per person.
      Would definitely NOT recommend.

If you do decide to go, bring cash, nowhere took card.

We were picked up by our tour guide, Ricardo early to start the day. It is a long day so make sure you get rest the night before! He was very informative throughout the tour and was really sweet to everyone. He made sure that no one felt left out and teeter-tottered between Spanish and English. Chichen Itza is wonderful... like wow! We were handed off by Ricardo to the Mayan tour guides throughout our time there. It was truly amazing; then, we headed off to the local gastronomy part! Delicious food and drinks! You must try the Chaya (a green drink). Ricardo then takes us around to show us how they make their food, art, etc. It's really cool! The Ikkil Cenote and Valladolid are both beautiful places. I simply wish we had a longer time in these two places but I understand for the tour timing purposes. Highly recommend this tour! Gracias Ricardo!
