There is no pyramid climbing - Beware of false advertisement
Apr 2021
I want to start by saying that our tour guide, Sofia, was great and this is was not her fault - I would give her service 5 stars alone. But beware, if you book this trip to climb the Mui Pyramid as falsely advertised in their pictures as seen here and on Expedia and as mentioned in their highlights, you will be disappointed.

Upon arrival, the pyramid was roped off due to Covid (which is nonsensical, as if you don't catch Covid being around other travelers all day but will while climbing up to the pyramid's summit). I had booked this excursion solely for that.

I then filed a written and verbal complaint to Sofia as well as Expedia, but so far this tour company refused to acknowledge this falsification, nor provide any refund or compensation.

Meanwhile, they have since removed the climbing activity from their highlights, but I attached a screenshot of the Expedia page where they mentioned that in writing as proof below.

Great tour, learned a lot about Mayan history and culture
Jan 2021 • Couples
Adei and Javier were fantastic. Adei was so knowledgeable about the sites and history, it made for a fantastic tour and we really learned a lot about Mayan history and culture. The cenote they took us to was beautiful and we got to taste the honey made from the stingerless bees. It was a lot of walking but it was totally worth it and we had a really great day. We were disappointed that we couldn't climb the Coba pyramid (but that is not their fault, COVID has made it not possible at this time).

Easy way to check off the bucket list
My expectations were not too high, as this is a long van ride from my hotel in Cancun, and there are 3 stops, so not time for much exploration at any one spot. But I have wanted to climb a pyramid for years, so I grabbed the opportunity for a reasonable price. Pyramid was great, ask someone to take your picture at the top!
The vehicle was new and air conditioning worked really well.
There were the obligatory souvenir sales pitches.
The buffet was cheap but filling after climbing 120 ancient stone steps.
The time allotted to swim was so short I didn’t bother suiting up.
The 20 minutes allotted to climb the pyramid seemed stressful. 30 would be better.
The cenote is not one of the impressive underground caves. It is an open air swimming hole resembling a lazy river.
The Tulum tour was self guided and considering it was a 20 min walk to the van, I only got to spend 40 minutes looking at the ruins. Since there was no guide or map I was worried I would get lost. The beach at Tulum is beautiful but I only had time to look at it from the top of the cliff.

Action Packed Day with a great team!
Nov 2019
Luis (our guide) and Martin (driver) were a great duo for my first Mayan historical experience. Luis is very passionate and knowledgeable about what he does. He's also quite comical and made our trip so much better, especially because he spoke interchangeably between our English/Spanish speaking group. This in itself was quite a feat. We were learning a lot, even during the drives between sites so we had a better idea of what to expect next. Here's a quick summary:
*Coba - there's a tunnel in the ruins where you'll experience some ancient lighting and acoustic 'magic' that only the Mayans knew how to create. rikshaw type trip back to the entrance to save a walk back from the main ruins
*Buffet lunch - some traditional dishes to try out (you should)
*The cenote - includes a shaman purification ritual, optional Mayan astrological chart (which is extra, but worth it because I'm spinning out reading mine), swim and spot some turtles
*The archaeological site at Tulum -amazing ruins next to the sea, so take plenty of photos
The whole trip was made better by our guide through all the little details and explanations.
Highly recommend this trip to everyone and make sure you request this duo to maximise your experience!

Good evening. Thank you for your kind comments. Luis is one of my favorite guides too. Did you know that the turtles you spotted are peacok sliders? they are very prolific living with us.

Luis Estrella was our guide. He was incredible and very knowledgeable. He answered our many questions. Glad I was able to see Tulum, climb the steps at Coba, see a Mayan village and swim in the cenote . The buffet for lunch was good.
Not sure how to access the group pictures that Luis took of us.

AMAZING tour
Oct 2019 • Couples
We took this tour on 10/30/2019. Diego was our tour guide. He was so informative and knowledgeable. His bilingual skills were on point.

The trip started with Cobá. It was amazing to climb the pyramid. Diego did a brief run though then set us free from an hour to climb. Beautiful experience.

Next, we visited a small Mayan village. We were blessed by a shaman. We ate at the buffet there. And then we were able to swim in the cenote. SO BEAUTIFUL. Dzonot Wayak was the name of the site/cenote.

Finally, we were off to Tulum. Diego set us on our own for an hour. I can’t even describe how beautiful Tulum is.

Diego gave us the perfect amount of time at each location. He gave us ample information. The tour was extremely well run and planned.

Do this tour!!!

I will be booking my next adventure with them!
Jul 2019
Before booking, I contacted them with my million questions. Erick was able to answer ALL of my inquiries the same day. The day of the tour started off a bit rough. Since my group of 8 was staying in Isla Mujeres, we were supposed to cross to Cancun and meet EKNX at 7:00am. My worst nightmare came true when we missed our ferry! I immediately called EKNX and they worked with me the entire time to get us back on schedule. I am not from Cancun, so they were very helpful in helping me find a new meeting point for the van to pick us up. Once we were back on schedule, I was surprised to see how clean and new the van was. Our guide was Carlos and he did absolutely great. He is very knowledgeable and is fluent in English. We started off with Coba, lunch, Maya traditions, Cenote swim and Tulum. Coba was super exciting. Lunch was delicious as everything was super fresh. Maya traditions were interesting. They have a small shop to purchase souvenirs. If you don’t want to buy anything, no big deal as they won’t bother tourists. The Cenote swim was exactly what we needed. The water was so refreshing and beautiful. Tulum was okay, unfortunately we were not able to swim due to the ongoing seaweed problem. The tour was EXCELLENT. I am not the person to sit down and write a review, but these guys definitely deserve it as they put all their time and dedication. From Erick, to the operator who helped me find a new meeting point, to Carlos and the driver, they all provide great customer service.

Wonderful time, great tour guide!
May 2019 • Couples
This was a wonderful day! We had a small van, so there were only about 10 of us. Carlos was our guide, of Mayan descent, and he was wonderful, informative, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. We toured Tulum first and had about half an hour to explore on our own. Afterward, we visited a Mayan cocoa and honey farm, where we were greeted by a Mayan priest with a traditional ceremony. Then Carlos showed us how to make chocolate. Having explained (on the ride) about Mayan astronomy and astrology, we had an opportunity to get our personal astrology chart and purchase some beautiful handmade items that supported the local Mayan community. We had about an hour and a half to cool off with a swim in the cenote on the property (absolutely gorgeous!) and enjoy a buffet meal. Then it was off to Coba for another well guided tour.
