      Diving in Cancun
Amazing staff. Amazing boats. Loved diving in Cancun! Surprised by the wrecks and the rays. The underwater museum is interesting but one time is enough.

Snorkel with Thiago is 6/5 stars experience
Thiago was the kindest and most knowledgeable snorkeling instructor. He helped all us beginners feel safe and be able to enjoy the beauty of the ocean. If you get a chance to try it out I would highly recommend it!

      Deep Sea Fishing?
We booked deep sea fishing through our hotel in Cancun. We went out on the boat, and didn’t get to touch the poles to help catch bait fish, the guides would only let us reel in big fish they had already snagged. Out of the 6 hours we spent maybe 10 minutes (between me and my husband) with a pole in our hands. It was very frustrating just watching the guides fish the whole time. We spent good money on a fishing trip only to do little to no fishing at all. When we asked to use the pole, the guide told us no. Very frustrating experience.

      Snorkeling at Cancun Underwater Museum
We went snorkeling at the Cancun underwater museum or MUSO near Isla Mujeres with the statues in the water. The Caribbean water was so crystal clear. Amazing! Thanks to Thiago for taking care of us. He even talked to us about scuba diving. We could learn the same day and go down. Hope to do that next time. Great to see beautiful fish and wildlife.

Great crew, Fun dives in Cancun with Aquaworld!
I am a certified open water diver and it was my friend’s first dive 🙌🏽 but we both had the same thoughts on the experience. Great crew from Aqua world and our master diver guides Thiago and Estefani were so awesome, they were knowledgeable, fun and caring. We did two dives one was the underwater museum and the second was the reef. Saw beautiful sea life and diving through the statues was surprisingly stunning! Highly recommend the experience:)

      Amazing dives
If you want to have a great time at scuba diving, you must choose these guys. After first dive you just want to do more and more dives with them. I ended up doing 10 amazing dives, 2 at the Bull sharks. They know the good places for dives and you enjoy the moments on the boat.

      An ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS dive experience!
An ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC trip! The sharks were “right there” - literally immediately in front of us as soon as we got in the water with some even bumping into us once we were on the sea floor. An absolutely amazing experience run by true professionals (Hector and Lorenzo from Aqua World) and Hector from the dive boat). These men are highly respectful of nature and conservation and true diplomats of how we need to respect and protect nature. A very educational and exhilarating dive experience that every diver should experience at least once.

Don't waste your time, stay at your resort
We took the trip to Isla mujeres and really felt so like the tour was a waste of time. Snorkeling here was the worst I've ever experienced, no coral and few fish. Chaotic experience in Isla mujeres with terrible communication, then taken to a god awful "resort" with a pathetic buffet and unappealing beach and pool. Of the staff, the bartender was very nice, but our director either communicated too much or too little. It turned into a tequila shots experience at the end. Wouldn't recommend this horrible experience.

Driving speedboats looks really fun but apparently is more fun when you actually do it! Really enjoyed my experience at the Jungle tour. It was a cool adventure.

Booked this tour from our hotel for $102/person before tip which included a 35min drive x2 from our hotel to their main company, a 30min private speed boat ride x2, and a 30min snorkeling session. We had Cebe as our guide and he was fantastic! Clear instructions, and he swam with us and guided us through the reef. Saw a BUNCH of fish swimming in pools. Best part of it was driving the boat - it was 2 people per boat so my partner and I basically got to do it ourselves! One star down because I feel like we could've done more since it cost so much, but the reefs are small and we were able to see most of it. Still a great experience! Felt very safe the entire time.

My wife, 11 year old son, 8 year old daughter, and I had a great time at Aquaworld. We booked online and got the Full Day Pass for the family. The booking took some time because it was through email and there were discussions on what we could do in a day. This was the itinerary they set up for us:

    Tour Name: Jungle Tour

    Departure Time: 9am

    Tour Name: Waverunner (2)

    Departure Time: 11.30am

    Tour Name: Skyrider
    Departure Time: 12.30pm

    Tour Name: Aquabounce

    Departure Time: Open Time

    Tour Name: SubSee
    Departure Time: 3pm

It was a good balance of fun and chill time. The Jungle Tour with the speedboats were my favorite. My recommendation is to do this earlier in the day. Later in the day, there is too much traffic in the water which was noticeable doing the other activities and watching others do this during the day. You get to snorkel in the reef for a bit as well. My wife and son loved the Waverunner Jetskis. My daughter was too scared, so she and I decided to have lunch together at the outdoor restaurant. My daughter loved the Skyrunner Parasail activity. The kids had a good time at the Aquabounce, and to cap it off the Subsee experience was a nice way to dry off and wind down the day. We booked a roundtrip transfer from the hotel and back through Aquaworld and it cost $66. My family and I felt that this excursion to Aquaworld was well worth the money and we'd do it again.

Worth it. Best price if you bundle 3 activities together at Aqua world. For the jungle tour there really isn’t a jungle to tour. You go through a channel of the lagoon that has foliage on either side. The tour lasts two hours. You depart from the marina, have about a 20 minute boat ride. Boats have two people in them. One of the two of you drives. If it’s a windy day, you can expect to get wet driving from the marina to the area you snorkel. You get to snorkel for about 30-45 minutes. You pick up the flippers and a brand new snorkel you get to keep before leaving. The mask they give you when you get out there. After snorkeling, the guide offers you a bottle of water and you head back to the marina. The boat goes about 30mph. Would recommend this. The only reason I gave this 4 of 5 is because there isn’t a jungle per say. Ps if you’re traveling solo like I was, they pair you up with someone for the boat portion. To have your own boat you have to pay an additional fee.

Hi Andrew! The name "Jungle Tour" dates back to about 40 years ago, when there was less human activity around what is now the Cancun metropolitan area. The tourists taking the original Jungle Tours were able to see more movement from wildlife and vegetation present at that time. But as human populations grew the mangrove “jungle” diminished and more regulations were put into place; the tour now consists of what you experienced: admiring the mangroves and their respective trees and birds, and a pleasant snorkeling adventure in the turquoise waters of the Mexican Caribbean. Thank you for sending us your kind review, we always appreciate hearing from our clients upon their return from Cancun. It makes our day to see that our valued visitors have a great time! Kind regards

I found the tour very overpriced and not worth it. It cost 102 USA each so that’s 204 for a couple and another 50 dollars ( down from 88) for 30 minutes of ski do ( wave runner) we were told the tour will be around 4 hours, well we finished both activité sur was 10:30... so quite disappointing considering we paid over 300 Canadian dollars for 1.5 hour experience. If you look on Airbnb experiences you can reserve yours for 9 hours that are around 90
Dollars Canadian or less. Price wise just not worth it, there are a lot better tours for a lot less expensive. We departed hotel at 8:03 got to the place by 9 am left around 9:15 we drove the boat for a bit ( I got are sick as people in front of us kept switching back and forth and not really respecting the distance of 20 meters). We got to the little coral reaf. Snorkels for about 30 minutes and it was nice but not like wow then back we went to the main place. The guide emphasized 3 times on tips and while I understand tourism may be low, and tht probably staff is underpaid and we tip well wherever we travel ( in excellence we tipped for every drink and every meal and service) we didn’t appreciate being reminded 3 times to tip. We then did the ski do, which wasn’t that much fun to be honest and again the guide who helped to take the ski do out asked us to tip, we said we already tipped for the tour quite generously and he said that they don’t slit the tip for the tour and the wave runner so we tipped again. I understand tipping if we had a guide who explained and showed us around and gave us explanations or something but literally for 5 minutes of taking the ski do out being asked again to tip was quite irritating. So 350 Canadian dollars later we were done our experience which lasted 1.5 hours and to be honest quite dissapointed. Furthermore the photos were not even included they were an additional 40 US dollars! I mean 400 dollars for 1.5 hours is just not worth it I’m sorry! We ended up not taking the photos. Literally all my other tours through Airbnb experience are costing me 300 for two people for 4 days and they are es h 5 to 8 hour tours... I don’t recommend this tour at all. Go for an authentic experience with someone local and where you are not being over charged and constantly asked for tips ( I honestly don’t even know what we were tipping for this time, there wasn’t any real explanation it wasn’t a guided tour per say I do understand the pandemic affected tourism but we like to give tips for good service and good guidanace and explanation when it’s properly deserved not for assisting for 5 minutes to take out a ski do ...)

My wife wanted to snorkel and booked the Jungle Tour through our hotel at Panama Jack's. We took the excursion with our 2 kids who are young 6 & 8, but capable in the water. The current was too strong for the kids and the equipment provided was too big for the kids (especially the snorkel tubes. The water current was strong making it difficult for the kids. I ended up getting out after a few minutes to leave my wife and my eldest child to snorkel on their own. The guide (Machine) was unhelpful and didn't help us at all, just simply sat in the boat looking at us slightly amused. It was disappointing to pay US$ 210 to really not enjoy the experience very much.

If you are with kids, then I wouldn't recommend this at all. If someone at the center had informed us a little more, then we would probably have not done this and opted for something else.

After we finished the guide simply left us by the boats and walked off.

After buying photos we left Aquaworld to be told that we could wait for the bus to take us back to our hotel, and after 20 mins, the bus arrived and the rep on the bus told us that our group had already left and that he wouldn't take us back to the hotel. After complaining we were taken back to our hotel.

I think Aquaworld (and also the people selling their trips) could explain a little more about the timings, suitability for children, the equipment and we would have had a better experience or done something else!

We enjoyed the speedboats, but were dissapointed by the snorkeling as we didn't really get the experience we were hoping. The guide was average.

It was Ok, we were really hyped up but a little deflated after.
The boat ride was 2x longer than being able to snorkel, there were 10 different companies at the same spot, at the same time with 4-5 boats each.
It was scary to be snorkeling with no real spatial awareness and then BAM a boat.

We saw a few little fish.. that was it.

During the boat ride back, the guide that led us was just going in circles, probably letting us have “fun” with the boats (in a single file line, 100ft away from each other)… We would have preferred more snorkeling time 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also if coming from Riviera Maya, be prepared for a $100 USD Round Trip Taxi ride 🤯

We arrived with the expectation of doing the jungle tour, knowing 2 of our activities were likely cancelled due to weather. However, after spending 30usd in taxi fare, we were met with front desk personnel stating that our whole day had to be done in one day. We had to screw around to get them to honour the one activity that we came for. If I could score lower, I would, but that wouldn’t be fair to our guide. If I was scoring based on our guide, Machin, I would score a 10. He was wonderful, gregarious, knowledgeable and patient and he made up for the crap we had to deal with at the front desk. I will say that our refund confirmation for the cancelled activities was very quick. Thanks you, Machin, for giving us a wonderful and exciting morning on the Jungle tour!

With all 8 grandchildren in tow (ages 11-19), we made a trip to Cancun earlier this month (July, 2021). As with the trips we made with their parents (our own kids), starting in the late 80's, we booked them on the Jungle Tour. As with the trips with our kids, we chose Aqua World (known as Aquaray in 1988). Anyone who has been visiting Cancun for 37 years, as we have, can attest, it's uncommon for a business, there, to maintain this kind of continuity. As has always been the case for us, customer service was superb and everyone had a great time.

A note for your convenience: email Jenny Elliott (who has been with the company for almost as long as we have been visiting). She made it very easy to book our large group. (See below.)

Thank you for your words, for your trust, for continuing to bring that family that grows and grows and we will continue to be here to entertain your vacation always. If you’ve ever been to Mexico you know that they’re people all over offering cheap excursions. The reason we went with Aqua is because our hotel vouched for them and they made us feel safe. Me and my husband did the jungle tour, scuba dive, and parasail. The prices were a little higher than the others but the experience was amazing! I would say do not purchase the photo’s/videos because most of our pictures my husband’s eyes were closed and wasn’t worth the price. I will book with them again because our scuba dive experience was amazing! Our instructor was Adonis and he literally felt like family. He made us feel so comfortable and secure as far as Beginners. Me and my husband have decided to book another scuba diving excursión but we would like for him to be the person that goes down in the ocean with us.

Booked 2 trips whilst staying at Paradisus Cancun. We did the Island trip and Jungle tour, with snorkelling. Victor from Auqaworld, provided excellent advise and service. A top man, would highly recommend speaking to him or his team when booking a water based activity.
