About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- askousen0 contributionsMisled, very long shuttle ride involved. The reason I booked this trip was because it said they left out of Playa del Carmen but they did not. They bus you all the way to Cancun where you meet up with a lot more people. It was a double decker boat not a catamaran. The island of Contoy was beautiful and got to see much wild life! Big giant storm came and everyone was scared and freezing. All life jackets were on top. The crew was very attentive. Left at 750am from hotel and got back at 8 pm. Very long day. Also take towels and rain gear. Even though we did not get to snorkel because of high waves if you wanted to use a snorkel you needed ID which none of us had. So in review misled as to where boat leaves from make sure you take your own towels and an ID and money and credit cards. All things I have never taken on a snorkeling trip.Written 27 December 2024
- Happiness209492530120 contributionsCancun not playaThis trip does not leave from playa, it’s a car trip to Cancun. Advertised as a trip from playa however the day of we were informed it would be from Cancun. We continued to pick up the rest of the group on a school bus type schedule.Written 26 December 2024
- vallucci0 contributionsMost romantic tourWhat can I say but just wow. We were so blown away by the whole experience. First of all the boat was lovely, the staff very friendly and funny, they kept the atmosphere so tranquil and we felt is was all about us. Great food, attentive staff, great host. Is recommend this experience to anyone who want to truly celebrate their love.Written 11 October 2024
- francisn4380 contributionsNice to experience the Maya way of lifeThe guide is good and the experience of really fantastic. The huge issue is the mode of transport. The vehicle is not suitable for such long journey. Very tight and we are just packed like sardine fish in a can. The tour operator should look for a better vehicle that is suitable for such journeyWritten 22 September 2024
- 735rogert0 contributionsSome of the staff that helped my wife and I celebrate our 52nd AnniversaryMy wife and I just returned from Secrets Playa Mujeres a week ago and we were very pleased with the attention from the entire staff to help us celebrate our 52nd anniversary. Everyone was very attentive and would go out of their way to make our stay memorable. Listed below are just some of the staff that I was able to remember. There were so many more that I just didn't have the time to get their names. - TinaLRivera0 contributionsWonderful! The beach is pristine and GORGEOUS! The staff was funny, entertaining, and accommodating. I highly recommend!5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So worth it. Loved every minute!! Staff was amazing but the Island of Contoy! Staff was great also. Hopefully, I will get to come back again.Written 24 July 2024
- laumi790 contributionsSlow start but entertained.Enjoyed the entertainment however, the beginning of the trip was slow, hot and we were packed in Ike sardines! I purchased for my family and I couldn’t change menu without having to purchase our tickets separately. Things started to get better during dinner. If I had a choice, I would’ve upgraded my children to sit in the balcony so they can get some breeze and not being squeezed. Fireworks should be longer instead of just three big cannon explosion. Overall, great show!Written 20 July 2024
- renskeegberts0 contributionsAmazing and yet not..You get to see the things they say you will see, so that's of course absolutely awesome. But to start off, the trip is not 100% as it is advertised. You have to meet at 7:00h at the Super Aki in Tulum (not 7:30h), so be prepared to leave your homes around 6:30h. They really emphasize you have to be ON TIME (early) for the pick up time at the Super Aki, so we felt really pressured to be even earlier (we left at 6:20h, even though it was only a 5 min drive). In the end we were picked up around exactly 7:00h. When being picked up, the "guide" said nothing, just asked for our names and ushered us into the van. We had to drive around picking up people in Puerto Aventuras and Playa del Carmen at their hotels first for 1.5 hours, before finally heading off to Ria Lagartos/Las Coloradas. Only then did the supposed 3h drive start.. We ware pretty annoyed at that point. The drive back was exactly the same, but reversed. In the end, I think the trip was more like 15h, so be ware of this if you need to plan around this. Las Coloradas is beautiful, but the worst tourist spot I've ever been to. Literally the whole thing is just designed for Instagram (IG) pictures. I am not exaggerating one bit. The whole tour is designed for JUST IG pictures.. It became quite annoying at some point when the guides just kept asking us if we wanted to have our pictures taken everywhere.. We were there to learn about the site, the coloured lakes, algae, etc. Oh and yeah, you have to pay an extra ~ 30 USD admission for just this (lame IG pics..). Ria Lagartos was the one amazing part about this trip. Yes, you will see flamingos, pelicans, crocs, and an assortment of other birds in their natural habitat :) I did not care for the "crocodile rescue" place we went to afterwards.. I'm sure they actually do save, breed and let the crocs out into the wild again, but the whole thing was mainly focused on taking pictures with the crocs. They bind their mouths with rope, and slam their mouths with wooden sticks so us tourists get to take nice pictures. I'm not here for it.Written 26 May 2024
- Unibod130 contributionsFantastic NightI had researched trips before our holiday and liked the look of this. it wasn't talked about by the rep in resort, which is a shame. However they did offer the tour. We were picked up from the hotel by Julio, who was our guide for the night. We were taken to Xoximilco and upon arrival were met at the 'Hacienda' by a Mariachi band who were excellent! As more people arrived a real party atmosphere was created. The boats are amazing! there was an assortment of Mexican cuisine which was lovely and it was explained with some history by Julio, who it has to be said was absolutely fantastic as a host, especially as we were the only English people on the boat, but this just added to the magic of the trip! The person steering the boat was Rolando who was just as fabulous and made a great double act with Julio, both dancing and making sure everyone was ok and having a great time. Meeting other boats was incredible especially stopping to join in with the Mariachi bands on route. The games were fun especially as communication was by gestures and lots of smiles! I cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you Julio & Rolando for making one of our nights in Mexico all the more special :)Written 23 May 2024
- roxannemoon10 contributionsgreat fun!Awesome tour!! Well organized and fun. i would recommend to anyone. not able to snorkel due to weather. great time swimming in aqua blue water and walking on a white sandy beach. special placeWritten 29 April 2024
- jkS8640AW0 contributionsWorst tour in Mexico, dirty, unsafe, a lot of waiting and rude staffonly malek was nice all other staff very rude, short and passive aggressive. very bad safety measures on zip lines, I have never seen such bases and lack of safety. Terrible equipment - very rude and bad service from the main guide,(short guy) so rude and condescending when asking about why we were waiting for an hour after we got there. The wait was half the time spend there to both leave and to start. The facilities were filthy and disgusting. Not worth your money, so many better operators out there that will give you good service and a more fun experience. The cenote was the most boring one I’ve seen with no information about it given. Better off doing xplore. Avoid this place like the plague, worst day of our honeymoon.!!!Written 22 April 2024
- U6929PXtammyh0 contributionsGreat evening out, fun music, good foodWe were a group of 4, great night out, was fun floating down the canal and having the captain guide us around to all the music stops was great. We really enjoyed our night. Food was good but it's more like an authentic Mexican meal with different flavors and tastes. We enjoyed the food. Lots of alcohol included, we enjoyed the Mexican music and culture. Our only complaint would have been was that as a group of 4 English speaking people, the rest of the boat were all Spanish speaking people and the tour guide was not very accommodating to us when it came to translating the information on the tour in English. We missed alot of the information because the guide was kind of ignoring us as we were sitting at the very back of the boat so we missed alot of what was taking place and and he didn't seem interested in translating to English for us and was just spending all his time catering to all the Spanish speaking people on the boat. I would do this tour again if I knew that we could be placed on a boat with a majority of English speaking people. We did enjoy our time and I would recommend it to others, just need to have guides that spend equal time with all tourists.Written 14 April 2024
- kevin K0 contributionsWay too many stopsThe bus made way too many stops I knew we were going to stop at many places in Cancun but the bus made many stops on the way to Playa del Carmen and many other towns. A trip that should take 2-1/2 hours each way took more than 5 hours each way. The sites were great, the transportation was terribleWritten 27 March 2024
- Mirlene G0 contributionsOutstanding tour bus pickup driver.. the greatest pickup driverOur driver for the tour was excellent. He was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend the driver. The day was full of Adventures. The only frustrating aspect was they do not allow you to keep your phone with you which was quite an inconvenience. Because I have business matters and family calls I was expecting. Which dampered the day. Not being able to use my phone was really frustrating. As a result it made it hard to focus and really enjoy But overall it was a great experience. The zip line is a true adrenaline rush. And the sinkhole diving board is truly a memorable experience. The horse experience was very unique. ATV was very thrillingWritten 21 March 2024
- N2778AFchristopherc0 contributionsAmazing experience! The activities planned were very fun. The pink lakes are beautiful, the lagoon tour was so peaceful and we got to see flamingos and so other wildlife in their natural habitats! Our guide was very fun, sociable, and kept things alive and interesting. Be aware that it takes a long time (3h) to reach the destination which leads to very long day. I left Cancun around 6 am and returned 14 hours later but it was worth it! I would definitely recommend this excursionWritten 2 March 2024
