About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- A8658YGericag0 contributionsRUN AWAY. Do not go on this excursion. There was no part of this excursion that was accurate with the booking. They went to the wrong pick up point. The snorkling was for 20 minutes at best. The tour leader had no idea where the mini bus and the beach club were (we paid extra for that). We had to wait over an hour for a ride back. They tried to charge us an extra $40.00 for a dock fee that was included in our deal. Horrible rip off!Written 18 February 2025
- claudiauS6319ZD0 contributionsNo explanation givenThe experience was okay. The only issue I had is that my tickets were changed last minute. I had paid for an upgrade experience all inclusive. The boat that was assigned to us initially was nicer and bigger. While waiting to embark all of the sudden my tickets were changed and I was assigned to a less nicer boat. No explanation. It was very hard to communicate with someone to ask for an explanation. Definitely a bummerWritten 17 February 2025
- 292gabriell0 contributionsfun timesstaff of induna was the best! expect to pay extra $20 for dock fee. pick up location and time was precise but required a quick message to clarify hotel location. meal was satisfying. drop off was convenient.Written 15 February 2025
- Mariusz P0 contributionsVery good value for the (discounted) priceWe booked the trip for two adults and two children (ages 6 and 8) at a 50% discount. As others have mentioned, it was worth that price—I don’t think I would pay full price. The catamaran was very spacious, with plenty of seating both in the open air and shaded areas. There were about 70 people on board, and even at full capacity (100 people), there would still be ample space. The open bar had plenty of alcohol for those who enjoy day drinking, and we were taken to a buffet on the island. The buffet was quite average, but that was expected given the price. However, the location was fantastic, as we were right on the beach. One downside was that the itinerary description on TripAdvisor seemed inaccurate, as it listed more beaches than we actually visited. Still, at this price, the trip was a great deal—it included transportation, the catamaran ride, drinks, and food. I would definitely go again for the discounted rate.Written 14 February 2025
- bbarri00 contributionsWorth the price - a really fun, casual way to see Isla Mujeres and the underwater sculptures. This was a highlight of our trip to Cancun. We booked the premium catamaran so it would be a little less crowded on the boat. Crew was incredibly friendly and accommodating, they certainly made sure your cup was full the whole time. The boat was really comfortable and clean, the drinks/food were nothing fancy, but perfectly fine for the price. Snorkeling in a large group is a either a plus (you certainly feel safe surrounded by people) or a minus (you are simply moving with the crowd, not free to explore on your own) but we saw sea turtles, beautiful fish, and the underwater sculptures, which were really cool. On the island, we had a drink or two with our fellow passengers, then haggled for a golf cart and explored the whole island, including finding a great little taco place in the middle of the island for a beer and shrimp tacos overlooking the boats in the harbor. I see some moderately negative reviews and they seem to all be on the same theme - the food and drinks are not going to be what you're getting at your 4 star hotel in the hotel zone. Which...should be expected since this is an all-you-can eat/drink experience from a local small business. It was all fine, and the point was the beautiful boat ride, the snorkeling, and getting to experience Isla Mujeres. We loved it, was super fun and glad we did it.Written 13 February 2025
- E3164HMavab0 contributionsHorribleI would give zero stars if possible. We booked this in January and confirmed the pickup time with the hotel. We arrived at our lobby 20 mins before the pickup time of 8:20am. By 8:30am I contacted the company as no one had come yet and our concierge heard nothing. They finally replied at 9:10am (photo attached) saying that their shuttle came but got held up at hotel security and now they wanted us to reschedule for tomorrow. They made no attempts to contact us or the hotel lobby when the shuttle was here to fix this issue which is absurd because every hotel has a security entrance so I can’t imagine how many others this happens to. They took no responsibility. We had planned to meet our friends who were coming from another hotel on the boat so this never happened. I am thankful Viator gave me a refund!Written 13 February 2025
- chloex7230 contributionsSuper fun trip and great crew! The trip was so fun and the view was breathtaking. Peter and his team took really good care of our family and friends. My mom was not familiar with snorkelling and Peter’s crew was with her the whole time. They also made sure everyone had drinks in their hands all the time. Our group including kids really enjoyed the trip and felt safe.Written 12 February 2025

The snorkel activity was beautiful and we all felt safe and informed after receiving a thorough breifing. They were patient and attentive to all of our guests. We had a great time and would highle recommend Cancun Sailings to others.Written 12 February 2025
- Tracii B0 contributionsPerfect excursionWe were on the catamaran experience. I chose it because it was smaller… about 20-25 people. The drinks were free flowing on the way there. The snorkeling was great. It was a little rough but a lot of fish to see. We arrived and had a great lunch. Then we rented two chairs for $20 and swam a little. We walked and rented a golf cart! The point of the island has beautiful views. Our only issue was there was an accident/heart attack, and they blocked off the road to return the cart. That was stressful! But we got back and they were super understanding! I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a nice, not crowded, relaxing trip over and back to do this! There was even a photographer onboard that took amazing pics!Written 11 February 2025
- Marti F0 contributionsGood but only worth 50 usd not 100 per person.Price was discounted which made this better. The crew was polite and attentive. The cleanliness of snorkel and drinking glasses is questionable. They literally rinsed the cups in front of us and reused them. Snorkels were not sanitized. We watched a woman throw up in her cup..gross. hope that one was thrown away. Lunch was plentiful and delicious. Snorkeling was refreshing but no actual reef. Some people struggled with current. Overall we enjoyed it. Next time I'll bring my own snorkel gear and cup!Written 10 February 2025

Thanks to Daniel and the entire team of boat #40 Tuesday December 5th for a superb day at sea and on the island Isla Mujeres.
This company is well established in Cancun and offers a professional and dynamic service. The prices are competitive and the quality of the equipment shows that things are taken seriously.
The boats are clean. The rules are well explained from the start and remembered to allow passengers a safe excursion. We appreciated that the bathrooms were separate for men and women.
The snorkling part was well supervised and prepared. We were accompanied and guided during this.
Arriving at our destination we had access to a beach club buffet for a period of 90 minutes and then we left with the boat to another section of the island for a free period of 120 minutes.
You must visit the island by golf cart. Prices are around $35 but you need a driver's license to rent.
The island is very touristy and crowded with shops for souvenir shopping. Be patient and don’t forget to negotiate.
The return was very lively with the open bar and entertainment. Music, dancing and laughter were there.
We purchased our excursion at our hotel with our Air Canada representative and the shuttle that took us back to the hotel was new and the driver was very careful on the road.
It’s a great excursion to do. We had the pleasure of seeing a few varieties of fish but nothing more since there are many boats that go to this reef with tourists.
Having seen other boats at the reef we were very happy with our choice. We were safe with dedicated employees and equipment in excellent condition.

I came to Cancun with some of my closest friends for 4 days. On the 3rd day we booked this trip to Isla De Mujeres and it was Amazing! Upon arrival , we got checked in and paid the 20 dock fee and then waited, no more than 8 minutes, for the boat to be set up (Heads Up: don’t put on sunscreen if you plan to go snorkeling as it damages the reef). After boarding , we were on the Maines Boat (pronounced “Minus”) and the crew was so attentive, fun, full of energy, and pleasant in every way. We traveled for about 12-15 minutes before stopping for snorkeling. They give you everything you need and give you an option to snorkel the whole distance or jump in and get back on which I thought was so nice for folks who are nervous. I highly recommend snorkeling as we saw: beautiful fish, vibrant coral , sea turtles , ancient under water ruins , and more. The swim is guided and we go as a group so you never feel lost. After the snorkel we get back on the boat and head to Isla De Mujeres. Our first stop was a buffet lunch which was perfect and came with an open bar (Heads Up: Bring cash as there are tons of extras like churros, ice cream and even an ice bar!). After the lunch we board the boat and make our way to the beach and town for a few hours. The island is great! Highly recommend getting a golf cart to explore and then chilling at the beach for the last hour. We boarded the boat and headed back home. Transpiration was flawless. Overall, this was worth every penny and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

The service from start to finish was slick, easy, and fuss free. I felt looked after and part of a team straight away, my partner, on an intense hangover also managed to perk up immediately after meeting Rena and his absolutely amazing crew. The boat itself was called ‘Amazing’ and did not disappoint. It must be hard to be attentive and present with a large group of people, but all the crew managed to make everyone feel really special and this was one of the best trips I have been on. It made my whole holiday. I would do it all over again! Thank you so much to Rena and the whole fabulous crew on the Amazing.

We booked the "Full Experiences" package for myself, my wife, my son and my daughter in law whom we were vacationing with through Lomas Travel. The Catamaran took us to the snorkeling "location" but was about 150 yards away from the actual reef. My son and daughter-in-law that were allowed to snorkel saw no reef or fish. The captain told my wife and I both that we were not allowed to get in the water because we were "too old." We are both in our 60's, but active and work out multiple times a week. They said that there was a snorkeling ban due to conditions caused by bad weather, but somehow this only affected my wife and I, and not the 60 other people on the boat. It felt and came across as blatant age discrimination, if snorkeling was "banned" at the time, none of the rest of the people on the excursion or the people on the 20 or so other catamarans that were actually on the reef a hundred yards or so away would have been able to snorkel either. This excursion was an absolute waste of time and money; the staff were not concerned at all with helping or accommodating us, but rather herding everyone through the "excursion" as quickly as possible to get us off their boat. How this is the "highest rated" snorkeling experience Lomas Travel has to offer is utterly baffling, I would advise everyone to stay away from Cancun Sailing Catamarans and book with literally any other snorkeling excursion.

This trip was not the “Luxury cruise” advertised. It was chaotic and not very enjoyable. From chaos at the marina (where do we check in? What boat? Why did we leave at 12:45 and not 12?) to unclear directions (Tinka needs to slow down and speak Spanish, then English separately, because it all ran together), it was not a great experience. We had rough water, which was not their fault. But directions on how to get equipment were not clear, and when I was trying to wait for my daughter to finish getting her equipment, I was rushed into the water separately. The water was choppy, and the directions on what to do were not clear. Actually, everyone was rushed into the water, and my daughter and 5 others who were last got in, but then were so far separated from the main group that they turned around to swim back to the boat. On a day with rough water, one guide for 30 people in the water is not enough. (For reference, I am an experienced scuba diver and I’ve been in rough water before.).
The beach club for lunch was not what I expect of a beach club on an excursion. No toilet seats (seriously), restroom doors that didn’t work, no toilet paper, and the food was mediocre. I did not expect the buffet staff to start going around with baskets to get tips. It was not a good look when one guy tried to tell me I hadn’t left enough tip in my basket.
Isla Mujeres was nice enough, although touristy. But we were definitely ready to go (the boat was 1/2 hour late). On the boat several youths were overserved and spilling drinks all over the deck. This was followed by the boat staff walking around with a jar asking for tips. Every other cruise like this I’ve been on has a tip jar by the exit for voluntary tips. Nothing like pressuring your clients.
The most bizarre ending to this 9 hour day trip (it ran from 11:15-8:15 by the time we were back at our hotel, not the 4:30 on the flyer) was the woman who got off the boat and just started peeing on the sidewalk on the way to the vans.
We will be looking for a different excursion experience next time.

We were very excited for our catamaran experience but ended up not being at all what we thought/hoped. Unfortunately the day seemed very unorganized which resulted in as missing out on a lot of awesome things.
Getting to the marina transportation wise was fine, but when you got to the marina it was pure chaos. The people in your party were split up - one to check in and one to fill the waiver. The line moves very slow even though everyone in line already had a reservation. When we got on the catamaran it was good to start. We sailed to a location where we were going to snorkel but I drink water been nice for the hour ride or so. When snorkeling it was not what I expected… Usually snorkeling takes place in a specific area but our tour guide had us swimming around a lot and not staying in one area. He said if you started the swimming you had to finish it so it seemed like we were on a tour swimming rather than staying in one area and just calmly snorkeling.
After snorkeling we were supposed to go to Playa Del Norte. It seems like we must’ve been on the slowest catamaran of all because after leaving the dock around 1045 and snorkeling, we skipped Playa Del Norte All together (they didn’t tell us they were skipping it) and did not get to the lunch buffet until 130. We had an hour to eat lunch at this buffet area which was actually very scary looking. We were so hungry at that point that we would’ve eaten anything but the food did not look good/edible/you somewhat didn’t know what you were eating because I had no sign. After leaving at 2:30 (meanwhile we were told we were going to be back at the marina at 5:30) we sailed off to Isla mujeros. The excursion description said that we were going to get two hours on the island but when we pulled in and got off the boat we only had 55 minutes which was VERY disappointing. The whole reason we did the catamaran was to do the island and enjoy what it had to offer. after we got back to the boat the tour guide said we would be back in an hour as we left at 4:30. We came back very late, and didn’t get to the marina until 630. it was 7 PM by the time the transportation left with us and we did not get back to our resort now sapphire until almost 9 after dropping people off on the way. We were also told that the boat would be open bar with snacks but they did not start serving drinks until after snorkeling… Around 12/1230. It was not open bar as I expected… You had to ask for what you want and it took five-ten minutes to get the drinks.
While the tour guide was wonderful and I know it was not their fault I believe the entire excursion needs to be reworked and times/experiences need to be figured out and locked in. It was very disappointing to take a 12 hour day that should’ve only been eight hours, and have so many hiccups in this excursion.
I would NOT Recommend doing this catamaran trip. Instead I would take the ferry over to the island and you can explore for as long as you want.

Don't waste your money on this excursion. Not worth it! The snorkeling was maybe 15 mins and then they herded everyone back onto the boat. I think they let on more people than they should have. The boat was overcrowded. Most people spoke Spanish so the staff mostly spoke Spanish. The trip should have included the spinnaker... there was no mention of this.
The food was okay, the beach was crowded.
The best part was what we did with our free time. We rented a golf cart to drive around the island which was beautiful.
The worst for me was they walked around the boat towards the end holding a tip box in front of you expecting to be tipped. I didn't like that at all. The waiter on the island did the same thing, left a container on the table at the end of the service even though I had already tipped him when he brought us drinks.
They took pictures of our family. There was no obligation to buy but they print the pictures and bring them to you at the end and push you to buy. I would not do this again, nor should anyone waste their money doing this. This is the worse excursion we've been on over the year. Anything else has got to be better than this.

Excellent!!! starting with the boat "Mauka" which was in excellent condition, needless to say the service of its crew who were attentive at all times to what we needed, towels, drinks and food. Grace undoubtedly made the experience unforgettable.

The crew on this trip was so amazing! They were all so quick, very professional, and personable. Oscar the main host was the life of the party! The trip it self was incredible! Snorkeling and seeing all the beautiful fish, coral, and statues in the water was breath taking.
Isla Mujeres was a nice relaxing island with beautiful beaches and plenty of places to relax by the water.
And to end the day with a sunset ride back was GORGEOUS!
I will definitely be coming back to so it all again!
