We love Juam and Kevin! Tour is def longer than 7 hours tho. Closer to 12 hours. My husband, 10YO and 13YO. At the center they do try to sell you every little thing. Make sure to negotiate down!

          Fun day
Our guide Carmen was excellent. The worst part of the day is all the time you spend on the bus. We left from Puerto Aventuras and I think we spent a total of 6 hours on the bus. It was a comfy bus. The itinerary is not exactly as advertised. We went to the cenote first and had lunch there. The lunch was a buffet and the food was decent. The cenote has a very steep, very long, rickety looking wooden staircase to get in and many people were nervous so they did not go down. They have changing rooms and lockers. The tequila tasting was also at the cenote and was interesting but the tequila itself was very expensive. We then drove to Valladolid which was a beautiful city but we only had about 30 minutes there. Finally we went to Chichen Itza. It can be very hot there but as it was toward the end of the day it wasn’t too bad. The tour advertises a local archeological guide but we just had Carmen although she did a great job. The worst part is that they allow hundreds of vendors on the site who are fairly aggressive about selling their items. There is not one bookshop or a gift shop offering any educational information or guide books. There is not much signage at the site so you are dependent on your guide. If you want more information, buy a guide book before you leave and bring it with you because there is nothing on site to buy. Overall very fun!

Not as expected. Food was not great. The day is closer to 13 hours. A very long, hot day.
A very long day and was not as expected. We were picked up from our hotel and driven to a gas station to wait for a bus. Valladolid was only 20 minutes. It was 3/4 Spanish people and the tour guide spoke so fast in English and Spanish it was hard to catch the details. The trip to the Cenote was not as expected. The food buffet was pasta and very little Mexican food. It would have been better just to have a trip to the ruins and back. The days was too hot and exhausting. 12 hours is too long. At Chichén Itzá we had the guides take us around, but we had very little time on our own to explore. We had to go to each stop together and would have liked to have more individual free time. I think a half day would have been better.

Terrible tour—unprofessional guide, freezing bus, no communication, disorganized, and begged for 5 stars.
Feedback on Our Tour with Amigo Tours – Worst Experience Ever Our experience with Amigo Tours in Mexico was an absolute disaster from start to finish. From the moment we met our guide, Juan, it was clear that professionalism and customer service were not priorities. He arrived half-asleep, visibly cleaning eye boogers before addressing us. There was no proper introduction—no greeting, no “good morning,” nothing. Instead, he mumbled something about our vouchers as if we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. The transportation was equally terrible. The minibus was freezing, and when we politely asked for the air conditioning to be adjusted, Juan dismissively refused, claiming the windows would fog up and that the sunrise would eventually warm us up. It was 6 AM—meaning we had to endure unbearable cold for hours. To make matters worse, the seating arrangement was absurd. Half of the minibus had seats with no legroom whatsoever, making it incredibly uncomfortable, especially for a long journey. For the first hour and a half of the trip, Juan remained completely silent. No explanation, no itinerary, nothing. It was only after I personally asked him to introduce himself and tell us where we were headed that he reluctantly spoke. Until then, we were left sitting in the cold, in the dark, with no idea what was going on. The tour itself was chaotic. We made three unexpected stops at gas stations with no explanation. Later, we realized it was due to a tire issue that they failed to inform us about. When we finally arrived at Chichén Itzá, Juan gave a brief explanation, but outside of that, he was either eating in the minibus or sitting in the shade, making minimal effort to engage with the group. Inside the bus, when he did speak, his voice was so low that only the first row could hear anything—completely useless for the rest of us. To top it all off, at the end of this miserable experience, Juan had the audacity to ask for a five-star review, not because he earned it, but because the agency was opening an office in Tokyo and he wanted to go there. This was, without a doubt, the worst tour experience I have ever had. The lack of professionalism, communication, and basic customer care was shocking. I strongly advise anyone considering Amigo Tours to look elsewhere. Avoid this agency at all costs, especially if Juan is your guide.

Must do tour while in Cancun
This tour was made solely by our guide Beto. He was so informative and had a genuine passion for Mayan history. We learned so much from him and he was a really lovely guy. Funny and brilliant at what he does. Would recommend this trip to anyone.

          Best experience of my life!
Manuel Tequila did an outstanding job as our tour guide! He seriously exceeded all of my expectations! Manuel did such a wonderful job explaining and teaching us about the Mayan culture and ways of life! You could tell Manuel is very passionate about sharing his culture and history with us! He took time to answer any questions we had through our tour but honestly he covered everything so well I didn't really find my self needing to ask any! He made the tour fun and interesting and I had the best time! It was Truly an experience I will remember for the rest of my life! This was better than any history class in school ever and I'm so thankful we chose Amigos Tours and had Manuel as our guide!

          Great, great experience
The trip was great, from the beginning to the end. Pastor and Salvador were outstanding. I love history, I read a lot and I am always looking forward to see new things or to learn a new prospective. I was impressed by the overall knowledge and fine details about archeological work done, people involved, exploration events and date accuracy. In addition the entire guidance through the Mayan culture and tradition nowadays was impressive. Not to mention the excellent support, recomandations, drive and punctuality. Great experience that I highly recommend!!!

          Over commercialized unfortunately
I read a lot and watched a lot about this very special place. In some guides this place is even described as mysterious, making you feel somewhat different as you may even lose sense of time here. In overall it must have been awe-inspiring sight which supposedly left you possibly even more motivated to continue being interested in Mayan's civilization... But it didn't. We arrived at the place at the opening time exactly 8:00am. The sun was up and there were already many people. So no place to feel any mystery. What was disappointing that this place is much more commercialized than I expected. It's full of street sellers of whom each and everyone asks you to buy a statue. The "pyramid" is interesting to look at but doesn't invoke any special feelings - maybe it's due to the crowd around that is buzzing and you really don't get a chance to connect with all this ancient legacy. I believe it's so much more if its the right time and the right attitude.

Great day trip with an early start. Highly recommended!
It was a great, small group (11 people) day trip in a minivan. The early start (pickup around 5am) gave us an advantage to avoid the crowd in Tulum. Our guide was Omar, a nice guy who gave us interesting insights about the places we visited and he was always there if we had any question. Our driver was José. We felt safe in the van during the whole journey. He never left the van unattended, so we could keep our valuables in there if we wanted to. This day trip was a great experience, 10/10 for the money. Locations were worth visiting and I would highly suggest anyone to choose it. If we had more time in Mexico we would definitely have checked in for another trip of Amigo tours! Our two notes for improvement would be to make the online itinerary accurate and maybe include some informations in the additional informations section. 1. The time spent at Coba and the cenote was different from the times mentioned in the online itinerary. Probably because they included the travel times in them. At the beginning of the trip our guide made clear how much time we will spend at each site, it was just the online tripadvisor tour description which was misleading. However, it was a 12 hour long day for us, even longer day for our driver and guide, so this was more than understandable and logical. Still, it would be nice to clarify this before the trip to manage expectations. Actual times at each location were. Tulum: around 90 minutes at the archeological site and 30 minutes free time for breakfast and coffee. (So this one was correct in the online description.) Coba: it was around 80 minutes, 10 minutes entering and briefing, 60 minutes free time, 10 minutes gathering. Cenote: about 60 minutes which included lunch time, this gave around 20-30 minutes for the cenote with cloth changing and everything. An extra 30 minutes at the cenote would have been very nice. But as I mentioned above, it was a very long day for our guides. This is just the nature of day trips with multiple locations in this area, due to long distances and travel times you can't spend too much time on each location. Regardless we really enjoyed the experience! 2. Additional informations, good to knows, tips and tricks: - Due to local regulations you can't bring one use plastics and water bottles into Tulum archeological site. If you want to bring water in there, bring a reusable flask or you can buy one in the shop before entering. We didn't had a flask, left our water in the van, but drank water before entering and after exiting the park and were fine with that. - Due to local regulations you cannot climb the stairs of Nohoch Mul in Coba. Still a great experience, just good to know before booking the trip. - The breakfast at Tulum is optional and on self cost. We just had a coffee, make sure to ask it for takeaway, as it could take up to 10-15 minutes to complete your order. - The included lunch is a late lunch at the end of the trip, around 14:30-15:00 at the cenote. It varies trip to trip if you'll have lunch first and swim later or the other way around. - The most part of the cenote is a cave without light. If you want to fully explore it, you'll better bring a waterproof flashlight. - If you decide to bring some sandwiches or other food with you for the ride then don't place it on the van's floor as it get's pretty hot. This is completely normal with these vehicles, we were just unaware of this. - Soma bug spray can come in handy at Coba.
