      The highlight of our vacation
Gris (pronounced Greece) has excellent English and led the tour. Chis (pronounced crease) brought up the rear and helped people who had mechanical trouble or with learning to operate the e-bikes. The Beach Bum store is next to a Oxxo store and within walking distance of the cruise terminal. We started out slow so everyone could get used to the e-bike operation. I had no trouble and the seats were very comfortable compared with standard bicycle seats. I really enjoyed Gris's explanation of Cozumel at every stop. We visited a church and a black coral jewelry shop and met the artisan. Like elsewhere in Cozumel, goods were offered with no high-pressure sales pitches. Sales staff were attentive but not pushy. We visited two Mayan-themed parks and saw a breath-taking fire dance with Mayans dressed in traditional regalia. At the second park, we saw a statue of a fertility god. Gris told us about her own Mayan heritage and gave personal examples of her family's connection to this god. We arrived at a taco restaurant and Gris helped with translating the menu. The waitress forgot my daughter's order and Gris intervened and made sure we got it right away. The food was tasty and for the first time, I tried and loved a horchata drink. Cozumel and the E-bike tour was the best excursion of our cruise and the highlight of our vacation.

      Great way to see Cozumel!
We had a great time on this tour. We were in Cozumel on a cruise stop and booked this directly with Viator and not through the cruise line. Our guide, Gris, was really knowledgable about the island. We saw some spectacular sites, had wonderful delicious authentic tacos and had a great time on the bikes. The bikes were really nice and in great shape. Our guide gave a great overview and orientation of the trip. I would highly recommend.

      We enjoy E-biking on Cozumel
Each year when we stay on Cozumel, we rent E- Bikes from Beach Bum Cozumel. Griz remembers us & makes sure we have bikes that are comfortable and in good repair. We really enjoy e-biking Cozumel.

      E-bike tour was very fun.
We really enjoyed this tour. The e-bikes were well maintained and easy to ride. We drove about 15 minutes to a bike path and rode about 18 miles with our guide, Griza. We stopped at an outdoor restaurant and enjoyed fajitas. We were hoping to swim there, but the day we went the surf was too strong. I highly recommend this tour if you want to avoid crowds, see great views and get some exercise.

Bikes and tacos in the Caribbean
This was our excursion while in port on October 1, 2024. We were the only 2 people scheduled that day, and had a great tour of the city sites and learned much about the culture and history of Mayans. I’m sorry I dont remember the name of the lady that was our guide, but she was great as well as the young guys she was training that rode along as well. The bikes are easy once you get use to the weight of the bike. She was very considerate of us being comfortable and understanding the bike motor. We went to an authentic Mexican taco joint and enjoyed carne asada! Great adventure and I felt very safe in an unknown country.

      Great Excursion in Cozumel!
We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise that made a stop in Cozumel, and after seeing the reviews of the excursions offered by the cruise ship, I decided to find something else - and reviews led me to the Punta Sur Eco Beach Park Electric Bike Tour! The meeting point was a short less than 10 minute walk from the port, easily found. We met Gris - our wonderful tour guide for the excursion. There were only two of us on this tour, so we drove with Gris in an air conditioned pickup truck to the park - the bikes were in the back. Gris supplied us with water and sunblock - I had forgotten to put it on my face back at the ship (!) - and off we went! 30 minutes later, we were at the park. After a quick tutorial on the electric bike, we were off to tour around the park. We stopped at a small Mayan ruin, an area where crocodiles live (and a climb up a treehouse of sorts), a lighthouse and then the beach, where we had lunch and then went in the water. Not going to lie - Cozumel is HOT - but the breeze from the bike was pleasant, and the water at the beach was just heavenly. We could have snorkeled, but neither of us felt like it. Gris was lovely and personable, and a wonderful guide. The food was delicious, but know if you buy an alcoholic beverage, you'll have to pay extra. Also, if they offer you guacamole, that is also extra, even though on the "what's included" section of the tour information it says a "guacamole entree" is included. It's not. A few folks did come to the table to try and get us to buy some of the trinkets they were selling, but they always asked Gris's permission first and when we declined, they left without complaint. A note - bring towels from the cruise ship...I forgot to bring some, and they do not provide any (it was in the directions for the excursion, I just forgot). Also, we got fairly dirty from the water-filled potholes on the dirt road (it had just rained) so don't wear anything white or new. The road you drive on with the ebike is riddled with potholes so the ride was bumpy at times, but super fun. I had never ridden on an ebike and am pretty risk averse and I had a blast. I highly recommend this tour if you want a combination of something active and something relaxing. We were a small group (2 plus the guide) but Gris told us that they keep the tours small, with no more than 15 in a group. Bathrooms - there is a bathroom at the meeting spot, which Gris suggested we use before we left. There is also a bathroom at the lighthouse (maybe an hour into the tour), and again at the beach club/restaurant. So if you have an active bladder and worry about proximity to a bathroom, there is really no need to be concerned!

      Peaceful fun
We totally loved Johnny our tour guide. He was courteous, personable and professional with a lot of local knowledge. We had lunch at the turn around sport and it was fantastic. We had the steak fajitas even the rice here was excellent.

Jonny was a great tour guide and took excellent care of us. The e-bikes are a great way to experience the island and the stops on the tour were really interesting. Couldn’t be happier with our tour, thank you!

Viator do not refund fully even if they cancel
I booked through Viator (never again). They took payment without checking if the tour was going ahead. They cancelled without telling me., so I incurred costs getting to the operator site - only to be told it was cancelled. When the refund arrived I was $11 short due to changes in currency exchange since booking- The viator agent was arrogant: officious and defensive. All in all I will never use Viator ever again!

      Amazing Bike Tour! Family Fun!
My husband and I along with our four young adult children had a port stop in Cozumel as part of our Royal Caribbean cruise and booked an E bike tour. We’re so glad we did! The website gave us clear directions as to how to find the Beach Bum E bike company, and we were warmly greeted by Giselle and given a quick tutorial on how the e-bikes work. They had various bikes with different seats to accommodate most back sides comfortably! We were able to see the historical downtown area of Cozumel and a lot of stunning views as we rode along the ocean. Giselle was friendly, engaging and very helpful so we felt safe driving through the traffic of Cozumel. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the island and its people. We stopped in the most delicious local taco place - Giusados-for authentic blue corn tacos- water, soft drinks and horchata were included in the tour fee. Everything was fresh and delicious! The tour was a wonderful way to see a lot of the island in a few hours of time. We highly recommend this company and this tour!

      Considerate staff = excellent experience!
The employees were very nice, and especially helpful after we booked a similar tour with what turned out to be a scam. The staff at Beach Bum were empathetic and accommodating. The tour itself was great, although the day was quite hot. The lunch was excellent and so refreshing! Bring your sunscreen!!!

A few friends recommended this tour to us. We traveled to Cozumel on a cruise and was looking for something to get us away from all the crowds. My wife and I are avid cyclists but had never ridden an electric bike before. We booked the tour 2 weeks before, directly on their website and used a promo code our friends received from the company which gave us a nice discount. Our tour guide was Joss who was extremely fun and very helpful training us to use the bikes. The bike operates just like a regular bike, so If you can ride a bike, you will be fine. The difference is that these bikes have a throttle like a scooter which you can use to accelerate instead of having to pedal. They also have a pedal-assist system that generates a little extra push when you pedal. Unfortunately, the weather was not in our favor, and we could not go into the water to snorkel, which is fine, the company has no control over that. But the tour guide compensated by taking us to town after the regular tour was over, so we could see the downtown area of Cozumel which was actually my favorite part of the tour. I highly recommend this tour, it is something very unique on the island. we saw big herds of people going on the jeep tours, and others getting on bus tours, which had endless lines and a huge lack of organization. We are glad we chose this tour!

We had a great time riding the electric bikes! The weather changed our plans for the snorkeling portion, but the time was filled with more biking to areas where we wouldn't normally get to see. Sandy was a great guide, and she did everything she could to provide excellent service. You can tell that she enjoys living and working in Cozumel, which comes out in her telling of the area. Our only issue was that one of the bikes electric cabling kept coming loose, which means that the person riding that bike had to pedal. Sandy was great, and she offered her bike, if needed, so that she could pedal manually when it was needed. I think I actually enjoyed the tour more than if we had been able to snorkel. It was relaxing and enjoyable. Great experience in Cozumel!

Very safe and easy to find. Louis was our most excellent tour guide, my wife has done some other the other tours with them if you have the time to do those we would recommend them over this as they encompass more but this was a great choice too for those shorter on time. The bikes are well maintained (and pre-charged!) for you. After the long tour with a few stops we walked across the street to a dive beach where Louis went snorkelling with us showing us all the good spots etc. The tour ends at the snorkel/ dive location where there is a bar/restaurant on the beach if you so wish. Highly recommend Beach Bums.

Don't do the tours. They will take you to places that pay them to get traffic through the door. i.e. they get a kick back for taking you to places that want to sell you something you don't want at very high prices. They often partner with a Tequilla place that is a total rip off.

You don't want to spend your time in a sales pitch room being sold stuff you don't want. Find a better tour or just rent the bikes.

First the good. The ebike ride was actually fun and instruction was very good and Sandy the leader was very nice and pleasant. The beach we went to was nice and snorkeling was also nice. However the bottom was very unsteady hard rock. But you do see some fish and some basic coral. Now the bad We almost missed our ship. There was a difference of opinion on what time we needed to be back on the ship either 3:30 or 4pm. The employee receptionist went online and said 4pm and not too worry. "Plenty of time, we'll get you back at 3:15. Well 3:15 Mexican time became 3:30. We ran the 6 blocks to the ship and were the very last people on the ship. They didn’t get us back on time we barely made it and we got you scolded by the top security officer for being the last people on the ship and in fact the gangways had already been removed except for it when the security man called to tell us we were coming they let us in. They said they were going to have us back sooner and they did not.

This tour was excellent, my daughter & I thoroughly enjoyed every minute from the fun e-bike ride along the coast to our snorkeling spot. The snorkeling was beautiful & we saw many colourful fish, even an octopus. Our tour guide Milton made this a memorable experience, he was friendly, knowledgeable & prioritised our safety at all times. The e-bikes were like new & very well maintained. This tour was a highlight of our trip & we’d recommend it to everyone. Thank you Milton!

Be careful you your tour guide doesn’t take you to a tourist trap like the crappy tequila tour they wasted an hour of our time on.

It was clear the tour guide got a kickback from the tequila company because they celebrated after a purchase was made.

Worst part the tequila we tasted was not the same as the tequila that was purchased. The tequila that was purchased was pure garbage.

Hi there, We appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback and I am very sorry to hear about your experience. I would like to clarify Beach Bum Cozumel is NOT affiliated with this Tequila shop you mention and this stop is NOT included in our tours nor do we advertise this on our website. It is common sense that biking and drinking do NOT mix, and for that reason, we do not offer that activity. Please reach out directly to info@beachbumcozumel.com to help us locate your booking details and make this right. Best, David Owner

We were schedule for the east side tour, but the group from another ship was delayed adn there were only 2 of us. Grace offered us other options and we decided on the West side tour with stop for snorkel.

Jose was our guide and he was wonederful! We stopped at a couple of sites and he was willing to let us bike a little further than usual. The bikes were awesome! Easy to operate and so much fun. We stopped at a beach club where we had lunch and I was able to snorkel a little bit.

After the tour, we walked back to the ship (about 2 miles) but from the ship to their office we took a taxi.

If you like to bike, I highly recommend this.

David and his team are a great group. Very responsive and punctual to the needs of their customers. I'm a cyclist and rented a regular road bike to ride one loop of the island with my daughter. My wife and son rented Ebikes which were so much fun for them. Beach Bum's Ebikes are in excellent condition.
