Fun, Quick & Delicious
Jan 2020
The Mayan Cacao Company was combined with another tour that we booked through our cruise ship. We really enjoyed the quick tour and it was very organized, as a lot of people were coming through. After the chocolate making demonstration, we got to taste it, delicious. Then inside the store, you can taste all of the many flavors and not a bad one in the bunch! A few that I especially liked: lime & coconut, banana & cardamom, chipotle chile.

There is a nice gift shop where you can buy the chocolate bars, they are a little expensive but a good size and worth taking home! You can go to the store without having to take the tour (which you have to pay for).

There are also other shops located here but our tour did not have enough time to visit those. This is a nice way to spend an hour or two and it is close to the town and port area. It is also close to the many beach clubs and resorts.

Amazing Chocolate & History!
Dec 2019
The history of the chocolate is very interesting. The staff did a great job of teaching us about the cocoa. After tasting it with no sugar, I wanted to buy every bar in the visitor's center. Purchased the chocolate margarita...Fabulous! Loved Cozumel & would certainly do this tour again. Have already recommended the tour to all of my friends & told them they have to buy the chocolate.

Fun stop!
Jan 2020
We went to the Mayan Cacao Company as part of the excursion we booked through Carnival. The ride to get there from our pier wasn't bad. Our group was the first there for the day, so we have no wait and also did not feel rushed. It was interesting to learn the history and we enjoyed the demonstration. They also had a very nice gift shop with samples.

Mayan Chocolate
This was part of a shore excursion in Cozumel and our second stop of the day consisted of Mayan Prayer, chocolate making, chocolate drinks, tacos and chocolate martinis..
The tour started with a Mayan Prayer by the entrance then off to the chocolate making workshop. It was a fun way of learning how the Mayans made chocolate, got to make some of our own, and sampled several different flavours. Bought a few chocolate bars to bring home too. We were given some spicy tacos to taste too.

AMAZING FUN EXPERIENCE
Dec 2019 • Couples
All the staff was super friendly, enthusiastic and accommodating! It wasn’t super long and dragged out it was such a perfect length with just enough information! Our tour guide was fantastic! I believe his name was Rolando. He share stories with us from his childhood and helped us make our own chocolate! 10/10 would highly recommend to anyone visiting Cozumel!
