Avoid navigating Quintana Roo alone on a combined tour to Ik Kil cenote and the archaeological sites of Chichen Itza and Coba. Exploring the ruins with a guide is essential, as many are unmarked and warrant context. No need plan logistics on your own—admission tickets, meals, and transport from your Playa del Carmen hotel are included.
What to Expect
Start the tour with an early morning pickup from your Playa del Carmen hotel. Enjoy a light breakfast on the scenic drive to Chichen Itza.
On arrival, your guide provides necessary context about the often unmarked ruins. Learn more about the purposes of each ancient stone structure than you could on a self-guided tour.
Break up the day with a refreshing swim in a cenote—a cavernous sinkhole in limestone rock, full of freshwater and unique to the Yucatan.
After lunch, continue on to the ruins of Coba, a Mayan city that once covered 31 square miles. Your guide ensures you see points of interest that most visitors miss. Climb Nohoch Mul pyramid for panoramic views of the jungle, and then relax in the air-conditioned minivan on the return trip to your hotel.

Wonderful Day!

This was by far the most favorite thing we did on our vacation. The sites and history are fascinating and our tour guide Carmen was fabulous. It is a long day but well worth it. It takes a bit of time to get all the...More

Worth It

I really enjoyed the day. Our guide was great. Yes you spend a good amount of time in transit, but this is unavoidable. Food and drinks were not impressive (banana, cookies, water, juice box) but I didn’t go for the consumables. I do recommend the...More

Overall a good experience given the circumstances

I travel to playa del carmen between Xmas and New Years celebrations, which it seems to be the high season for tourism in the area. Our trip started with a delay from our driver of about half and hour or more, I was almost sure...More

This was an enjoyable and informative 12 hour day tour. We were picked up by small tour van at our Playacar resort about 15 minutes after the time that was indicated for approx. pickup (we knew it would not be exact time). From there various...More

Hello - no I wouldn’t recommend this tour as we got back to our hotel at around 7pm. It also depends on how many people on the tour and where their hotels are as to what time you will get dropped off.

It would probably not be just because of the long walk, sun, and the swimming at the cenote. I would recommend it for teens to adults only to take full advantage of the trip.
