This was by far and away the highlight of our trip to Tulum.

We booked this trip last minute, the night before, and scheduled a hotel pick up.

Lucas arrived exactly on time and drove us to the Cenote where we did some snorkeling and saw some baby crocodiles and fish.

At the cenote we met Emiliano who gave us an overview of the cenote and the Yucatan cenote river system.

At the end of our snorkeling experience, we had a small snack, and drove to the lagoon (about a 15 minute ride) and set up some lunch.

The lunch was amazing, we had tamales, fresh made guac, a nice assortment of fruits, and delicious coffee. They certainly did not skimp of the food. It was delicious and much more than anyone in our group could eat.

After lunch we got into the Kayaks and started our traverse through the mangroves. On the way, Emiliano and Lucas pointed out many birds and discussed the history of the area and the wildlife around the lagoon.

Emiliano and Lucas are very knowledgeable about the area and answered all our questions with ease. Emiliano has a degree in natural biology and is very passionate about the natural world and wildlife in the area.

Truly lucky that these guys were our guides as these two, not only, were very knowledgeable, but also had a very clear passion for what they were doing and where they were doing it. They really did enjoy sharing their love for this place with a group of tourists.

During the kayak ride, we paddled for about two hours, then set up shop near an island chock full of birds and had a delicious snack. We then watched the sunset while Lucas took some beautiful pictures of the group in the natural environment.

In the twilight, we paddled back to the van and arrived on shore just as night fell.

We then got in Lucas's car and he drove us back to our hotel. We had a great time hanging out with him, he is very cool, and easy to get a long with.

All in all this was a magical excursion into Sian Kaan bio-preserve. We felt truly lucky that we chose this trip as I dont think other trips take you to the places we got to go. If you want to take a tour to see a rarer side of Sian Kaan then this is the trip for you.

The next day, we got an email link to a google drive containing amazing shots of our trip and some cool pictures of us snorkeling. Beyond being expert tour guides, these two are some amazing photographers and you are guaranteed to have some cool mementos from the day.

We will certainly take another tour the next time we come back to Tulum.

I recommend that you make sure you bring water bottles, a change of clothes, and a towel. They will provide water refills and you will be spending some time in the sun so come prepared.

Excellent trip with extremely knowledgeable guides, delicious lunch (fabulous homemade guacamole), roses (it was valentines day), good cenote snorkelling and the twilight kayaking in the mangroves allowed extensive bird watching with a beautiful sunset. Being able to quietly paddle within good viewing distance to an alligator (albeit a small one) was a highlight. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone who travels to Tulum and wants to experience the beautiful Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve at nature's level.

We were a group of six adults who booked the sunset kayaking trip, and it was spectacular! We started off at a cenote at the entrance to Sian Ka'an Biosphere, where we snorkeled among the mangroves that grow along the edges. The water here was incredibly clear, and we saw quite a few large tarpon and other fish. Afterwards we drove deeper into the park, and a fabulous lunch of local food (tamales and fruits). We then spent several hours kayaking through the maze of mangrove channels. Our guides were interesting, courteous, and knowledgeable. It was obvious that they had a real love and respect for the biosphere, and that their knowledge of its ecology and biology was very impressive. They timed our trip perfectly to watch as hundreds of frigate birds, herons, and pelicans returned to their nightly roosting spot on a mangrove island at sunset. It was simply wonderful to watch and hear so many large graceful birds vie for a spot on the little island. Afterwards we paddled back to the dock just as it was getting dark, and the fireflies were flashing in the trees. They had a photographer come along with us so we didn't have to worry about damaging our cameras on the trip, and they shared a ton of wonderful pictures with us afterwards at no extra charge. This was an exceptionally beautiful experience, and we strongly recommend that you go on this trip if you are in the area and love nature experiences.

The whole experience was excellent. First we stopped off at a lovely Cenote ( snorkel kit was provided and good kit) our guides took time to show us the different fish to see , even a small croc and talked us through the other wildlife at the cenote. Ricardo’s passion and knowledge of the whole area is invaluable. Next we took a bumpy ride ( the roads in Tulum are bumpy) to Sian Kaan. We have some Home made Tamales , coffee and fruit to make sure we had the energy for the kayak, I would eat something it’s tiring stuff. The guides took time even with some other guests who hadn’t kayaked before. We then took off to scope the wildlife which is mainly exotic birds, nesting white herons, pelicans, yellow warblers and other names I can’t remember. We kayaked into the sunset which was one of the most stunning I’ve seen, we got lucky with the weather. Once the sun set, Ricardo made some fresh guacamole literally under the stars, you could make out the Milky Way. Then we headed back. A beautiful , relaxing and adventurous day.

I was the only one who booked this tour on a Thursday in December. Rather than cancel on me due to the low numbers, Antonio and his trainee picked me up to give me a private tour. They viewed it as an opportunity to see more of nature and showed me the best snorkel and kayak adventure I could have asked for. They truly care about the wild and giving visitors a unique, eventful experience.

Antonio brought a Go Pro to take videos of me while snorkeling and a professional camera while we were kayaking to see pictures of the birds. I was promptly sent the photos a week later so I never needed to worry about taking photos on the trip. I also had no idea how bad I was at both activities (haha, whoops) and both guides had the patience to help me at all times.

Along with my activities, this tour may have offered me the best tour food experience I've had. Antonio prepared native fruits, an incredible nut mix and the best tamales I've probably ever had (wood fired!). I had an hour to sit on the beach of the reserve (with absolutely no one around me) and munch on guacamole/chips with a Corona.

Probably the best experience I had of my entire trip to Mexico was eating tamales while watching the sunset next to a nest of birds on my kayak of the reserve. It was peaceful, serene, warm, delicious and beautiful at the same time which is what all I wanted when I booked a last minute vacation to Tulum.

The price may be steep but well worth it. Please book any tour with these guys!

This trip through Yucatan outdoors was incredible! Starts with a snorkeling trip around a cenote, then a wonderful 3 hour kayaking trip through the mangrove lagoon that ended at sunset. We saw lots of wildlife including crocodiles, herons, spoonbills, and egrets. The guides were great and very informative. This trip is great for any skill level and I would highly recommend!

We had a lovely afternoon and evening in the Biosphere! The snorkeling was ok; not great visibility and a bit short. We did see a crocodile though! The meal of tamales, fruit and snacks was delicious. We loved the kayaking, especially paddling through the mangrove canals, watching the sunset and seeing all of the pelicans, egrets and other nesting birds. It was about a 2 1/2 hour kayak but so calming to be on the water. Ricardo was very knowledgeable and a great guide!

Yes amigos, kayaking is very unique experience in many ways for low impact exploring … the cenote changes a lot during the whole year, Depending on rain , wind etc bu still it is a great start to meet all kayakers and see underneath the mangroves , to stop to cool off and explore it as much as possible , it is always different with new surprises, thank you for your comments I will let Ricardo know , gracias amigos !!!’🤙🏾🚣🏽🙏🏽🙌🏼👏🏼🦅✌🏼

The description includes -“ The trip is complete with snacks, a local meal, and transportation so you don’t have to worry about added costs.” So i was surprised to get a call the morning of the excursion to be told that we would need to pay an additional $50 usd per person for transportation.

The operator started the call by trying to cancel the excursion, asking us if another day would work. He then went on to try and charge us an extra fee. I would not want to be on a trip with this guy as the leader

We aré VERY sorry about this misunderstanding.... We took the time to explain by email and phone about the service that you had hired did not include transportation. We are very sorry for the misunderstanding, we tryied to explain that apparently you read that in another tour company or to help us find that wrong información because this Is how we make a living through kayaking so It Is very important that all Is clear so we can keep exploring with the least emmisions possible. If you have your own vehicle you can follow us to the different locations and save some money. Anyways, hope you give us the opportunity to show you around and prove you the kind of real sustainable project we aré so we live this behind. Please send us where we need to be more clear for future explorers and send us the shootscreen where you found that info. We go where only a few can go by kayak, which Is our main priority since over a decade. Cars, taxis, or any shuttle we can arrange like any other company also if you need but we are specialized in exploring at the UNESCO SITE with all permissions required but sorry about the whole Situation. Hope we can clear things out Best Regards Saludos J.Antonio Arsuaga E.

Went on a essentially private tour with Raul and Ismail, and had such a truly wonderful experience. Both are extremely knowledgeable guides who are passionate about the environment and wildlife, as well as extremely friendly (and multi-lingual!) . The weather was unfortunately a bit cloudy, but they made the absolute best of the experience. First we went snorkeling in a very large open cenote where we saw a large variety of fish, and they helped us free dive. Then we had some very delicious fresh fruits, coffee, and roasted nuts. We then drove to the Sian Ka'an where we went kayaking through this absolutely incredible giant lagoon. We were the only people out on the water. Got to see different types of birds (including a small group of flamingos which was very cool), jelly fish, even a sting ray (if even for a moment as they move very fast). The water was so clear and it was very fun to be kayaking out there. We then enjoyed some very delicious tamales out on the water during the sun set. The whole tour took about 7 hours, and they were generous enough to drive us through town on our way back to get some money from an atm.

Overall, great experience. Would do again, and would even consider doing future additional tours of the reserve as it's so large. If you want to do something more besides beach time, would highly recommend! And these people are the best!

Raul and Isma took fantastic care of my husband and I on our afternoon snorkeling and evening kayak experience. It truly was a memorable life event!. Highlights included seeing baby crocodiles in the cenote, Raul teaching us how to dive beneath the water with snorkels, seeing blowfish in the lagoon, flamingos, a multitude of other birds and the sunset colours on the lagoon. Raul and Isma were both so relaxed, knowledgable and enthusiastic about the tour and the time flew by. We wish we had more time to see more with Yucatán Outdoors. If we can come back to Tulum we would certainly book with them again.
