We had a group of 8 people, ages 8-48. The instructors did an amazing job with all ages but particularly the kids. My youngest was teary eyed and scared and by the end of the session was surfing and waving her arms in the air. We did a 1.5 hour session. Everyone surfed and had a blast, all good vibes from the instructors. The instructors had great safety awareness and very good instruction and we all got up multiple times!! Highly recommend, definitely the best "excursion" we did. We also easily ubered to the location.

Surf in Cabo is AWESOME! We rented a soft-top board from them for a week for my tween son - he could swap out the board for another any time without charge. They have a great selection of rental boards for surfers at any level. Price was much cheaper than flying his own board to Cabo. The whole family took a few lessons with Fernando and the other instructors. We spent most of the week surfing the beginner break in front of the store, and hanging out in Surf in Cabo's shady beach-side chairs. They have a bathroom, lockers, and shower for clients. Everyone there is so friendly and accommodating. From our first interactions with them until we said goodbye, it was such a welcoming and chill location - such a difference from the non-stop music and frenzy of the resorts! The Surf in Cabo team gave us advice on other beginner-friendly breaks to visit, places to eat, helped us find wetsuit pants for my son's sunburned legs - they couldn't have been more kind. They have umbrellas and beach chairs for rent, too (if you're heading to another break). We plan to go back again soon, and will definitely rent from and take lessons with Surf in Cabo again!

Ask for Michael! He met us at the pickup point on time, was very friendly and helped us get right out on the waves to start learning how to surf. We were first time surfers and this was a great experience.

I love how it’s located in a very private location with usually beginner and intermediate waves. Fernando went above and beyond to make sure my husband (a more beginner surfer) had the right board and new where to catch the safest waves for him. He even had good pointers. We only rented a board for a couple hours, and he was so helpful to make sure it was as safe as possible.

I had to leave a review for David. He gave lessons to my adult/teen kids. They have surfed before and said this was the most fun they ever had surfing. And the cherry on top was David had someone take amazing pictures of the kids while they were swimming. BEST pictures ever. Amazing combination. Surf in Cabo has created and maintains a culture of good vibes, honesty, inclusivity, safety, and fun at Costa Azul. My wife and I live in Colorado, and had an incredible opportunity to stay in San Jose del Cabo from January through April this year. David, Fernando, Rocco, the other David, Wendy, Chris, the part-time instructors, and Mario the photographer treated us like friends from the day that we arrived. I have to mention Roquito and Belu, as well, the 10-year-old ripper and his little brother, who would go from playing in the waves one minute to tossing a football on the beach with us the next. Surfing at one of the four Costa Azul breaks several days per week, we were always heartily welcomed by all of them. They were very generous to us throughout our entire stay, offering up pointers on surfing, conditions at the local breaks and across the region, and with the use of their facilities. Having spent nearly four months there, I came to know that it wasn’t just us, either. They treated every visitor to the beach and to their shop with the utmost respect, kindness, and compassion, all while maintaining an upbeat, exciting, and fun beach/surf atmosphere. The mean-spirited surf attitude that we’ve encountered at other breaks across the world just doesn’t exist at Pescadito Break, the awesome, gentle break nearest to Surf in Cabo, and it can be attributed to the welcoming, generous, and kindhearted attitudes of the shop and its staff. We had several friends and family visit throughout our stay who received fun and successful surf lessons and extremely reasonable prices on rentals and purchases, including many great action pictures of the kids surfing. It is a testament to the vibe of Surf in Cabo that the beach and the breaks there are all about fun, kindness, and sharing the wonders of the sea with the entire community at Costa Azul!

Best beginner surf area, not intimidating, and awesome staff. We rented boards from them for 3 days of our trip. My older kids, that had never surfed before, took a short lesson with an instructor there and surfed on their own for the next couple days. My youngest is very adventurous, and once she was comfortable with the bigger board they let her swap boards for a different type with no extra fee. Always a welcome smile and super helpful! We will be back in December, and booked close to this beach and surf shop. Awesome!

We had a fantastic beginner surf lesson with Surf in Cabo! Fernando greeted us and got us outfitted for our lesson with Rocco and David-- they were fabulous teachers and everyone had a great time. We had the waves to ourselves and everyone was super helpful. I heartily recommend them!

The amount of information given to us when we stopped by to find out about booking a surf lesson for my husband and one of our teen sons was awesome. We spoke to both Oscar and Fernando and they were so knowledgeable and patient with us. We ended up waiting a few days after hurricane Pamela had hit land south of us so the waves were smaller and cleaner. Their surf instructor was Luziano, he was very calm and helpful. He gave them a short on the beach run down and then they headed in the water. My son was able to stand up on the 1st try. I rented a board but didn't pay for a lessin as I surfed a lot in my 20's. Luziano was very helpful to me as well. We highly recommend this place if you are looking for surd lessons, their pricing is good, but their customer service and outstanding knowledge of the area's waves is priceless. I highly recommen this company. We will be back next time.

Compared to our lessons in Hawaii, the Cabo guides were awesome. My 2 daughters got up their first time and had tons of confidence to keep surfing for multiple consecutive days. Thanks Andres for being so welcoming! We had a great time.

We were complete beginners and all instructors were amazing with us! We had the best time, and by the end all stood up. Definitely recommend.
