This is the second year with the Banff Trail Riders. From the experienced and friendly guides, to the river crossings, fabulous outdoor BBQ lunches, stunning mountain and forest views, healthy strong horses, and well organized days - it is an experience not to be missed. Mandy was our guide this year and she is friendly, competent and even though safety is her top priority she is relaxed and sets the tone for a calm yet fun ride! The cooks, packers and the rest of the staff help the whole team and seem to be a very close group. They are all very professional but still a lot of fun. I would recommend this trip to anyone who loves horses and the outdoors.

We took our 2 teenagers (19 & 17) on this adventure...they were a bit skeptical especially that there was no internet! They both said they had a super fun experience...we certainly did too. Our guides Brittany and Kim were great, we loved hearing all about their experience in back country, it was nice to learn about the personalities and care of horses. Our chefs Heather and Marilea cooked us delicious meals. Dave and Jason our packers were fun to chat with. Jason took the time to teach our kids how to lasso each other which was great evening fun, along with evening smores at the campfire. Our horses were so calm and gentle (Hollywood, Chisholm, Cadillac & Archer). This part of the country is so beautiful and to be in the complete back country with nature was so amazing.

Thank you so much for your kind words about the staff and your experience with us in the backcountry. It is a special place and we are honoured to be able to share it with our guests. We hope to see you on one of our other backcountry adventures in the future.

This trip was a 60th birthday present for me and my husband and was the highlight of our trip to Canada. The logistical organisation was awe inspiring, careful thought and planning ensured that we were comfortable, safe and well informed at all times. The lodge itself was very comfortable, particularly impressive since it is completely off grid, and nowhere near as basic as I had feared! Warm, dry, clean and comfortable beds in private rooms ensured a good night's sleep, lulled to sleep by the lovely sound of the river outside. The food was delicious and plentiful, prepared by excellent and welcoming cooks, drink was available at very reasonable cost. And, most importantly of all, the horses were very well cared for, well trained and well mannered. Our guides were delightful, friendly and very well informed about the ecology, flora and fauna of the country we were riding through. The views were stunning and the riding, though slow because of the rules of the National Park and the fact that not all riders are of the same standard, was just challenging enough to be interesting. All in all, we have no criticisms whatsoever, and would do a similar trip with this outfit in a heartbeat!

If you want to experience the fantastic surroundings off Banff and at the same time get new friends, Banff Trail Riders would be the place to go to. We also got some new best friends, but these were on 4 legs. Everything with this adventures trip, was so welled planned and all our expectations were more than beyond met. We loved everything, the trails, the horses, the guides, the Sundance lodge we stayed at, the great food we were served and the cool staff we met during the 3 days trip. Thanks to the boss, Julie. What an achievement all this is, impressive 👏🏻💪🏻 We'll come back for sure. The packers and rest off the staff took such good care of the young cowboy in the family, thank you guys 👍🏻
