You always get a window seat! The Twin Otter plane is super fun, and the views were spectacular. I did this trip both ways, and it was super easy, and probably the same price as the ferry if you account for all the TIME i saved. We all know, time is money...

Excellent Service and Communication
Sep 2020
My flight was cancelled due to the smoke in Vancouver. I got a personal call from the company to alert me to the change in plans, and they let me rebook for the next day- for no extra charge. Then, my new flight was cancelled again owing to the smoke, and I was notified right away. Every time I have used Harbour Air, I am always satisfied; the people who work there are genuinely kind, very organized and highly professional. I would recommend them to any of my close family and friends!

Incredible experience ~ we'll be back
Dec 2019
What a great way to get from Vancouver to quaint Victoria and back. Take-offs and landings have never been so fun.

The entire staff and flight crew (or single pilot) were SO welcoming. On our return flight I was close enough to see all the dials -- like I was a co-pilot.

The views are incredible -- despite a little cloudiness and rain, it was still thrilling to see the views from above.

Our pilot had a fun fact as we were taxiing into Victoria Harbor. Only 2 times has the harbor been closed to flights...no, not due to flooding or a natural disaster, but whales! Both times they needed to wait it out....what a sight that would have been.

Adventures on the DHC-6
Sep 2019
I’ve been on something of a De Havilland Canada “kick” over the past year, having flown on the DHC-2, DHC-3 (piston), DHC-4, DHC-6, DHC-7 and various versions of the DHC-8. And can you blame me? De Havilland Canada has manufactured and developed some of this country’s most versatile and reliable aircraft. In fact, the DHC-2 Beaver and DHC-3 Otter (also occasionally known as the “King Beaver”) have practically become synonymous with the country and its rugged terrain. Pioneering bush pilot Russ Baker would indeed be proud.

It’s thanks to Harbour Air that I was able to secure a couple of flights aboard the DHC-6 (-100 and -300 series), from Vancouver Harbour to Victoria Harbour and back again (a couple days apart, of course!). In both cases, it was quite an experience to feel the power of the Otter’s twin engines as they came roaring to life, lifting us high above the cityscape below and providing unparalleled views of Vancouver, the Strait of Georgia, Gulf Islands and downtown Victoria. Indeed, it is only from such vantage points that we can really begin to appreciate the physical beauty of the world in which we live.

With a 1-2 seating format, the Twin Otter provides travelers with a decent level of comfort for such a small aircraft. For me, I preferred sitting on the left side of the Otter (single-seat row) so as to avoid being “cuddly” with somebody else (haha). The noise level from the props was fair but, in my view, only adds to the experience of flying on these wonderfully maintained floatplanes.

I’ve flown Harbour Air a number of times over the years, but this was my first experience with their DHC-6 (all others were with the turboprop Otter). It was, as I’ve noted, a good flight and the crew was professional and courteous as ever. Now, if only they’d invest in a land-based DHC-5 (hey, I can dream!).

Indeed, Harbour Air has come a long way from its humble origins of 1982. Back then, the airline existed to service the logging and fishing industries. Today, with a fleet of over 40 aircraft, they provide an essential service to the lower mainland, Vancouver Island and Washington State. Impressively, they’re now on track to offer all-electric flights in the near future. How cool is that?

Great flight and change from riding BC Ferries
Dec 2019 • Business
The price is reasonable, the service is excellent and staff make you feel welcomed and valued as a customer. The plane is clean and comfortable. The view when flying from Vancouver to Victoria is absolutely breathtaking. I am looking forward to booking a personal adventure with a Harbour Air package in the near future and look forward to flying with them again. I also give them Kudos for the industry leading green initiative in bringing electric planes to their fleet in the near future.

Sea plane from Vancouver to Victoria
Oct 2019 • Couples
We opted for the 30 minutes seaplane ride from Vancouver to Victoria for overnight trip. It was an amazing experience which is highly recommended. Check-in and boarding was smooth. Never realized how smooth a water landing was. Worth the time and cost.
