This is more of an expensive method of transportation from Vancouver to Victoria, rather than a whale watching tour. It’s almost like, “we’ll get you to Victoria and maybe on the way, we’ll look for some whales”...in our case, we were about 30 minutes out full speed on our way

Hello Roland, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are very sorry that our tour didn't meet your expectations. We operate many different adventures from Vancouver, Victoria and Telegraph Cove. Some of these adventures do not include a whale watching component but for those that do, we can assure you that is our priority to share a fascinating whale watching experience with our guests. We are dealing with wild mammals which means that it is unpredictable in terms of where they will show up but we do our very best to find these beautiful whales. Our purpose is definitely not to check a box and we welcome guests to take a tour with us for free under our year-round whale sighting guarantee policy in the instance that they do not see any whales the first time with us. We are very sorry to hear that there was an issue with an entangled crab trap line and if an issue like this does occur, we do everything in our power to ensure that the issue gets fixed promptly.

Hello Penelope, We appreciate you sharing your experience with us as all customer feedback is very important to us. It is possible to see a whale from the Seaplane but we would never promote the Seaplane experience as a ''whale watching portion'' of the tour. We are sorry to hear that you didn't have a good view from the Seaplane. Seats are allocated on a first come first serve basis but typically every seat gives a nice view for its passengers. Yes, we share information, but tour times vary and this causes differences in the experience you receive relative to the company and departure time you choose. The whale that you saw on our tour was a lone transient male T77A. He has a history and reputation of playing with crab and prawn traps which has made him a well known Orca. In this instance, he wasn't entangled or distressed but we do appreciate your concerns. When a guest books a tour with us, an email with important information is automatically sent to the guest. This email outlines exact departure and arrival locations and does identify the return address at Harbour Air Vancouver 1055 Canada Place. We do ask everyone to check in at 7:30am as we can have up to 180 guests that need to be checked in and sometimes this can take longer than anticipated. We also did try to call you the day before your adventure to confirm the change in departure location, but we were only able to leave a voicemail and could not reach you directly. We do appreciate your feedback in relation to our staff as they work very hard to ensure our guests receive a comfortable, educational and enjoyable adventure.
