The Whale watching tour was an outstanding experience where we got to see a Humpback Whale, Sea Lions and other wildlife! Reasonable price. Would definitely recommend to others!

Super knowledgeable crew. Saw lots of whales and sea lions too. Was chilly but we had layers on. Good for little kids. Steady boat ride.

Thank you for your kind comments to our crew, in which we certainly agree with you! We are so glad that you enjoyed the trip and had an enjoyable time on our vessel (we are also appreciative that you came prepared with layers as the temperature drop can be significant)! We would love to host you again in the future!

This was a wonderful birthday treat. We live in Victoria but whale watching never gets old! I was really pleased with the Covid protocols in place as I was a bit nervous about that but they had procedures in place that made me comfortable enough to enjoy the morning out. We saw whales in the first few moments and then quite close to shore...just down the street where we live! Walk there all the time and have never seen whales! We went out to Race Rocks and saw loads of seals and sea lions before heading further out and we then saw 7 whales. Our guide was the perfect balance of information and jus letting the experience happen. It was super sunny and just a gorgeous day. You're never sure what you capture in photos and videos but I was thrilled with the pictures and video I took. It was the perfect way to spend my birthday.

First of all, they offer various tours on their website. We booked thru TripAdvisor the "3h whale watching tour", because we were not interested to see sea lions or eagles. We wanted only to see whales.
With trip advisor we both safed around 50€ all together instead booking directly at their website, thats good !!

So i asked the staff what's the difference between their "3h whale watching tour" and "marine wildlife tour" and they responded with "it's pretty much THE SAME" although they charge diffent prices online !!! That was really disappointing already to trick people.

And it is the same. We drove to one sea spot which was closer to Port Angeles, USA (i recommend therefore taking the trip from Port Angeles to safe time and have more time watching whales...). and indeed saw 2 humpback whales and followed them for about 20min. Unfortunately they did not jump or similar.

We did not spot an orca at all, although they advertise in huge printouts and flyers that orcas could be seen pretty much at any spot.

half time in the tour. so after the first spot they said "now we drive to a second spot".

And what they did is drive to a spot with rocks and stuff to show the sea lions and some eagles. That which i was not interested in and furthmore i HAVEN'T BOOKED! It felt like they only went there to fill up the time.

The staff was really good but i was was super disappointed of the overall trip. Therefore WOULD NOT RECOMMEND it.

By the way, at that whale scenic spot there were like 6 other boats, some of them pretty far away, they were no able to see much in that great distance.
I saw some boats turning off to drive to a second spot somewhere else. we stayed that full 20min.

Dear Christian, We are very disappointed with your review because despite seeing Whales during your tour, you still decided to write a poor and unfair (plus false) review! If you had wanted a private tour JUST to see Whales, that is what you should have booked. However, you joined a regular tour with several other people, many of which were hoping to see more than JUST Whales, which is what we try and do on our tours. The Salish Sea is one of the richest & varied marine environment in North America and we strive to show our guests the Wonders of the Salish Sea on each trip, something we have done successfully for over 30 years! It is obvious from your review that you did not listen or understand the instructions given to you at the office, where the Naturalist goes into a detailed explanation of what to expect on the water. As for location, sometimes we are off Port Angeles, as in your case, but more often we are closer to Victoria and other times we go further afield. The point is we go where the Whales are and the Wild Whales (not caged animals in a Zoo or theme park) will move up to 100 miles in a day following the food. They are also not going to perform on cue, again they are WILD animals, and do what they want to do. As for Orcas, they had been in the area the day before and were seen again the next day. That is exactly what happens when you are dealing with an apex predator that travels up to 100 miles a day, they MOVE! There was an extensive search that day for various species of Whales, including Orcas and the Humpbacks you encountered during your Whale Watching Tour (please note Whale Watching not Orca Watching). You also incorrectly stated that we have Orcas advertised in huge printouts and flyers, In actual fact we advertise various species of Whales that CAN be encountered in the WILD. If you look at our logo it is actually a Humpback Whale, not an Orca. We are lucky enough to have 5 different species of Whales and 8 species of Cetaceans that can be seen in our area. If we had failed to stop at other areas to see various other Wildlife, including the Sea Lions and Eagles, we would have disappointed all the other guests on board just to make you happy. Everyone else on the boat was thrilled at the chance to experience an incredible Ecological Reserve and several guests stated seeing Eagles in the Wild as well as Whales was the highlight of their vacation. So to some up, you booked a Whale Watching tour and not only did you SEE Whales, but you had the privilege of also seeing Seals, Sea Lions and Eagles all in their natural environment. As the saying goes, "you can't please all of the people all of the time" and some people you will never please...... despite being in one of the most incredible Marine Environments in the world!

It's April, so dress accordingly, because at some point you will be on deck in a hard, cold breeze becoming smitten with massive Gray Whale. Also saw Sea lions, Bald eagles and dolphins! Nevermind if it is rainy, they live up to their word and through their network will find where these giant mammals are feeding. Exhilarating adventure!

This whale watching excursion was one of the best travel experiences we have ever had!! We had taken a similar excursion off the east coast of Canada a few years ago and were very disappointed so our expectations were rather low. I would recommend this excursion to anyone! Of course, we were fortunate enough to have a beautiful sunny day, which I'm sure helped, but everything about the day was first rate. The naturalist guides were knowledgeable, friendly and fun! They answered all of our questions and shared so much about these beautiful creatures that we never knew! Our first whale sighting was made about 30 minutes into the cruise. We were all so excited! Little did we know that the fun was only just beginning! As we all anxiously scanned the horizon in all directions, we saw one pod after another! We even saw a super pod of Orcas, which the crew said is extremely rare! A young humpback swam by our boat with one fin out of the water as if he was waving to us! Amazing!! This was truly a day none of us will ever forget!

Thank you for your review. We apologize for the delay in responding, but we have been so hard at work doing our annual refit of our 45-passenger "Five Star Supercat" and 12-passenger "Salish Shadow" that we overlooked your review. Your excitement and enthusiasm jumps right off the page (screen) and that is the reaction we hope to generate in all our passengers. The more you care, the more you will do to help these amazing creatures be protected for future generations. We hope that you will join us again... and again.
