Comfortable on-time performance
Oct 2019
This is a great way to travel between Vancouver and Victoria. The schedules are convenient, prices are good, and it is certainly diverse (part-time in the bus, part-time on the ferry). The scenery is very pleasant and our bus driver even dropped us off at our hotel's entrance. Great service!

Generally good, but a couple of disappointments
Oct 2019
We needed to get from Vancouver to Victoria without the hassle of having a car, the BC Ferries Connector seemed to fit the bill. Booking it a couple of months in advance I realized I had entered the wrong date by one day. I immediately called and asked for the change, I was told there would be a charge for the change because I hadn't bought the additional insurance. I was astounded! The representaive eventually relented and adjusted the date for me.

We were picked up at our hotel, and transferred to the train/bus station where we had to wait for about half an hour. We were warned to use the 'facilities' as there were none on the bus. We left at the time we were told, and driven to the Twassen ferry. The bus goes on the ferry, but you cannot stay on the bus while it is at sea. There are multiple food options on the ferry and good views as we travelled through the islands.

There is an announcement on the ship when it is time to go back to the vehicles for disembarkation at Swartz Bay. We had boarded early so were amongst the first to get off the ship and we were on our way to Victoria.

I was surprised when we were told that we would all disembark at the rear of the Empress Hotel. There is a long list of hotels that we had chosen from for our drop off point. We had about a ten minute walk with luggage to get to our hotel. No idea why we were asked where we wanted to go when there was no plan to fulfill the request.

Our driver Brian was excellent, he did a good job of setting expectations (apart from the above comment).

After booking this non-refundable transfer, I was told about the Vancouver to Victoria ferry, which would be another option to connsider.
