Tour ended with an amazing display of dancing aurora!! It was a cloudy night so our host Penny went above and beyond for the whole group to have a great night, driving us all out west to have the best chance of seeing the lights and it did not dissapoint. Such a great host! She made the night! Highly recommend

When making my reservation, the time listed was a pickup at 2:30pm. The day before the activity they emailed me asking me if we could change the pickup to 1:30pm, because it would be dark if we left at 2:30pm, I agreed. My family and I were ready at 1:30pm, by 1:50pm no one was there. We called and came to find this was through Viator. They then wanted to switch the time to 2:30pm. I told them that they told me that it would be dark out at that time. They refunded my money but the whole experience was unnecessary. May I also add that as it was -20 outside my family and I sat in warm clothing in the house for almost a half hour waiting.

This was an awesome tour that I would recommend. Our guide Evon was very friendly and attentive, showing care for every guest on the tour. The Hotel was also very nice (better that I expected honestly) fairly new and comfortable, the only thing that would need to improve is the food quality at the restaurant (stayed at the Chateau). I would take the same tour if I were going to return.

Excellent customer service compare to 4 others agencies (Northern light, Yellowknife holiday, North x and Yellx ) . I travelled Yellowknife for 6 nights in September, and stayed in Chateau Nova and Hotel Explorer , and joined 4-5 tours based on the comment from TripAdvisor and some other website . Here is my short comment for hotel and tours. Top customer service , Morning Star in Yellowknife 5 stars, reasons : I stuck in the lift for 1.5 hours in the old Hotel Explorer without proper contingency arrangement and service from 9:45 to 11:20pm, my Aurora tour bus from Yellowx left as it was too late. Surprising the Morning star tour did have one Taiwan gal Moira stayed behind for 1.5 hour to wait for the guest who stuck inside the lift, and kind enough to let me to join their tour to their private site via her SUV . She was very kind and excellent service , even to me as not their registered clients . Their camp had wonderful setting, we see foxes too. We left the camp at 2am, another Taiwan tour guide Penny who use her extra time to go to final stop at 2:15am and we were lucky to see 2 hours colorful Aurora with her great help . All people within the bus clapping to say thank you. Second place is Yellowknife tour and North Star. They are professional, while Yellowknife tour us for big group , and North Star is for smaller group with good hunting skills. The third place is Yellowknife holiday, average standard , the final place is northern light tour, as they just transferred our booking to one of the above less experienced tour without prior notice , very unprofessional. For hotel, I stayed in suites under Chateau nova with big size with kitchen , good to stay 3-4 nights, hotel restaurant was terrible standard. For hotel explorer next door, the restaurant has good food and drinks and service, but room was very old compare to Nova , also front office service is below 4 star hotel standard . Contingency arrangement was extremely poor. I will not stay there but I will go to their restaurant.

We had a great time! Our host was patient, informative, and had great energy! We saw Aurora at our first stop even though it had been very cloudy all night. We have two more nights and I’m hoping for a bigger show! We missed a big show the first night we flew in because we were tired and the prediction was low. I highly recommend going every night you’re here because anything can happen!

Our trip was epic! The night tours were cool and the tour guide was great about taking us to different spots so we could see the auroras. Highly recommend doing the full package. One bit of advice, rent the snow clothes they have for rent. We brought our own which took up a lot of room in our suitcase and had to wear two jackets etc. Their jackets are really warm with big hood I wish I had.

Well organized tour and everything as expected. Pretty happy with Viator also as they didn’t charge my card until a couple days before the tour and I have no problem cancelling one of the slots. One big advantage of this tour is the flexible cancellation comparing to other tours. Plus you got unlimited free photo free which Aurora village is not the case. I would give 5 stars if not for the fact that $10 tip per night per person is expected. I didn’t pay attention to that although did see that in what is and is not included parts. I didn’t bring enough cash paying $10 Candian dollars plus $10 USD for 4 of us as that is all I had with me. The tour guide is ok with that and didn’t force me to do anything else. But I still think that is too much - $5 each per night seems to be more reasonable. The other tour I took didn’t require too at all and I am willing to tip $10 and felt much better when I was not forced to. But overall pretty good experience and I would have no problem recommending this tour

Great experience, we have been chasing Northern light our selfs for 3 years and finally see it. Aurora Village was a great tour guide and excellent location. nice and comfortable facilities.

This tour basically is for photo ops for the Instagram generation. It was mostly the guide taking pics of guests against weak auroral backdrops. It’s also very big, catering to large Chinese travel groups (3-4 bus loads), not small groups or individuals. The office is not well organized- it took all day to get a confirmed departure time and when the message arrived it came with the wrong hotel listed. Reaching them by phone was difficult and the outgoing voice message is only in Chinese. Having done auroral hunts in other countries I wouldn’t consider this a serious outfit.

Great tour. We were very well looked after. A little frustrating at the start waiting around for other guests that were late but once we were on our way it was only a few minutes before we saw the sky lit up with the aroura. There were plenty of photo opportunities and Mini worked tirelessly to ensure everyone got lots of pictures. The cabin was warm cosy and drinks and snacks were unlimited. Would have been good if we could have seen more colours in the aroura but that is mother nature! Overall a great night out.

This was such a great company to use. Our guide didn’t give up on the aurora. Started off cloudy so she drove us away from the cozy cabin/teepees looking for clear skies. We drove spot to spot until…there they were… beautiful lights across the sky. I don’t think another company would try so hard to find the perfect spot. I think we hit 4 places before we found clear skies and beautiful lights. Highly recommended.

Our instructor was very nice. Extra gear can be provided in case it's too cold (even for Yellowknife standard). It was the first time for us using a snowmobile, all the explanations where very clear and we felt very safe. I definitely recommend!

The snowmobile tour was excellent. We chose a guided tour as it was snowing. The guide kept checking to make sure everyone was OK. The snowmobiles were comfortable and in excellent condition. A wonderful expertise I would recommend to all.

The tour was incredible! First, I want to express my deepest gratitude to Emma and Tinny for an exceptional tour, their stunning photography, and most importantly, for always ensuring we were enjoying the journey and had no doubts or concerns. The tour is 100% recommendable. We are from Mexico, and it was during this tour that I proposed to my future wife. A significant advantage of this tour is its dynamic nature; they don't just stay in one spot. Instead, it's a true hunt for the auroras, and they are expert hunters! 10/10.

What a great experience! Tina (sp?) our guide was friendly and accommodating. Also, she took great photos of everyone and provided them afterwards. Although a primarily Asian tour group, Tina made sure I was included as an English-speaker. We stopped at two places before arriving at our final teepee and cabin stop. All three places we were lucky to have seen the northern lights!
