Highlights
Taste a wide range of wine styles—it's a great introduction
Full-day tour includes a gourmet lunch with sparkling wine pairing
Group size capped at nine wine lovers to ensure personal service
Convenient pickup and drop-off from a central location in Montreal
What to expect
Meet a guide in Montreal, then board a minibus for the drive into Quebec wine country, passing Montreal’s scenic south shore along the way. The guide explains the basics of Quebec wine, from cold-hardy grapes to recent innovations, during the trip to the first tasting stop of the day. If you opt for the full-day tour, you visit three vineyards for tastings, including a blind tasting experience led by a winery owner, with an introduction to the art and science of making wine in a cold-weather climate. At the second winery of the day, pause for a European-style gourmet lunch paired with a Quebec sparkling wine, and enjoy some free time to explore the vineyard. Choose the half-day tour to experience two Quebec vineyards, from a Rougemont hillside winery to a family-owned vineyard with sweeping views. After a half or full-day of wine, the tour concludes with drop-off at the original departure point.

Large group with larger attitude
Sep 2019
This felt like anything but a small group tour. With over twenty guests all with different personalities any feeling of intimacy is impossible. Ken was our guide. At the first winery Coteau Rougemont (half-day tour), the winery representative insulted the state my partner and I came from as "a place where New York sends their criminals", had us all stand in front of the winery doors without showing us around the fields, and couldn't answer direct questions about how many trees had been planted in sections of the winery and other basic questions. When we came inside for the tasting there was nowhere to sit. As we stood being told about the wines, multiple wines were described as coming from a bad vintage year and not as good as what previous years had yielded. Then why serve them to us?! They were talking down their own products and dissuading us from even trying them. Most of the wines we found sour and unappetizing but that is our own opinion. We were invited to take photos out the back doors of the winery but no time to sit. There were also no food pairings or tastings so that sour feeling continued in our stomachs on to the next winery. This stop (the second of two) was marginally better being greeted by adorable Labrador Rosie at Vignoble les Murmures. Though smaller this winery is run by a lovely couple and the tour and details given really show how they run this family business. Wines here were paired with cheese and smoked meats and we enjoyed this space much more. Poor time management came into play here as Ken allowed a small group of Instagram photo-hungry group members to convince him to extend our time at the winery by ~30 minutes. This was unfortunate as we missed plans made for later in the evening due to the delay. Do not plan anything close to the end time of this tour as the schedule is not respected. Overall this is something we would not choose to do again with this company and/or a tour of this size. We felt rushed, disrespected, and very very hungry.

All day tour of local vineyards
I really want to give Kava tours 5 stars, but our 9 hour tour ended up lasting almost 11 and a half hours causing us to miss our dinner reservation.
Ken, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. However, he has some time management issues.
The vineyards were beautiful and each vintner was outstanding explaining their particular process.
I would absolutely recommend the tour, but I would caution you to avoid evening plans.

Lovely Wine Afternoon in Quebec
Oct 2019
Sabin made the half-day wine tour and interesting and informative afternoon. Guided wine tour operators usually have a thorough knowledge of area the which adds to the day. The choice of the two wineries was perfect. We met many nice people on the bus.
Never feeling rushed , it was definitely a tour to be recommended.
Notes : make sure to have lunch or bring food for the bus - also water.

Very well organized. The tour departed on time in a comfortable and clean bus. Pierre was a very well informed guide. He speaks English very well. The three wineries that we visited were very nice. The food and the wine were excellent.

Half day tour. Loved it!
Sep 2019 • Friends
Such a great experience! Went to two different vineyards. The first one was a small vineyard owned by the most lovely couple. They gave us some homemade smoked pork, salmon and cheese to go with the wine. Very informative. They have the cutest dog Rosie who greeted us at the bus and guided us over to the couple. Rosie was a great host. The wine at this place was amazing. The second stop was a larger winery where we tried ice wine. It wasn't bad. The views were nice and we had time to sit down at the end of the tour to enjoy the scenery for a bit. The tour guide Ken was amazing! Very informative, funny and friendly. He even gave my group recomdations on where to go get dinner when we arrive back. There wasn't a dull moment. I would go back

Excellent Half Day Wine Tour
Sep 2019
Loved both the wineries we visited on this half day wine tour. Sabin was a great guide. The first winery was Vignoble Les Murmures which was a larger winery. Beautiful location and some wonderful ice wines. Our host at this winery was very informative. The second winery was a small winery and was in a beautiful location - FERME CMJI ROBERT INC. The gardens, especially the dahlias were beautiful. Husband and wife founded the winery and still run it themselves.

More wine please!
Sep 2019 • Friends
Went on the half day tour with my sister. 2 stops, both with a few pours each and homemade bites at the 2nd stop. Both were beautiful locations. Wish we could have stayed longer and maybe a pour or 2 more. Guide Ken was enthusiastic. All around d good time.

Half day wine tour
Sep 2019 • Couples
Excellent tour well organised Ken our guide connected us the night before to arrange a new pick up due to a protest march being held in Montreal centre.

The commentary was really informative giving details of what we were passing.

The guides at both centres were really excellent and the second centre went into great detail and Rosie the pet dog gave everyone a great welcome.

Kind of bummed... not a small group tour as advertised!
Sep 2019 • Couples
Although our guide was very nice, this couldn’t make up for the fact that this was not a small group tour. We were bummed because winery tours are not nearly as fun when you are a large group of 20+. In fact, there were at least 24 of us.
The wineries were nice; however, the tastings were limited and without the time to buy our own glasses of wine if we wanted. Overall, a bit bummed.
