Excellent! A Great Feel for the City and History
Admittedly, we got off to a rocky start. Guidatour is not good at communicating. We arrived at the meet-up location but couldn't find our guide for about 15 minutes. I called the company and got hung up on twice. (Also, they never sent the guide's name or contact info by email, as I've come to expect from travel companies.) But luckily, a kind doorman helped us out. Once we connected with our guide, Renee, we had an amazing tour. Renee was incredibly knowledgeable and kept us entertained with trivia questions. He also gave us recommendations for restaurants, shopping, and other activities.Overall, totally worth it!

    Great tour of Old Montreal!
This was a wonderful way to learn about the history of Montreal and get a feel for the old part of town. It's very historic and there are many interesting buildings and landmarks. Our guide was great and we feel we really got our money's worth. I highly recommend this tour!

    Small group, great guide.
On my trip to Montreal I had a day where I was alone, so I booked this tour. We ended up being only 6 in the group. The guide Sarah was amazing. passionate, funny and knowledgeable. would absolutely recommend. Cheers.

A well balanced and informative introduction to Montreal and it's history
It was our first visit to Montreal and the earlier day, we had struggled a bit with mundane issues like looking for a place to park our car. Robert gave us a nice glimpse of the historical spots of Montreal with lots of interesting trivia and bits of humour which made the tour interesting and restored our faith in the beauty and historic significance of the city. Robert had a career in finance and insurance earlier and is able to provide a lot of perspective.and stories about the institutions in the city. All in all, an enjoyable 3 hours historical tour of Montreal.

    A tour to remember
We took the walking tour of Old Montreal during our family vacation. Louise was our tour guide, and she was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, funny and personable. She made the tour well worth the time and money. I would highly recommend the tour, and if you are fortunate enough to get Louise as your tour guide, you will enjoy every minute of it (I'm sure the other guides are amazing as well :-)

Experience a side of Montréal you won’t find alone
Thomas our guide was great. Humorous, excellent pace, thoroughly knowledgeable and great with questions. Walking pace was good and definitely saw things we would not have found alone. Meeting point is in the square in front of Notre Dame (meeting place description is a little confusing)!

Me and my fiancé where looking for something to do around my mate's apartment who was hosting us. we had limited time and we didn't want to go to the old port again. so we booked this and went for a poutine after. It was surprisingly really interesting. the guide was funny and kept the group engaged. also montreal is just a really nice city to walk through and discover. I don't think we would have noticed all the street art, if it wasnt for this tour.

    outside the box experience
went on this walking tour of murals in montreal. the whole tour is outside. for us it was sunny but chilly so dress accordingly. the guide was nice funny knowlegeable. she gave us tips on where to eat afterwards. I personnally loved the lenght of the tour but my wife was a bit tired as she has knees issues. so i would also recommend wearing good shoes. we were looking for something less touristy than the classic tours and were happy with this one cause it takes you into less known areas of the city.

Excellent overview of the west side of Old Montreal
Laura guided us through the historical landmarks of the west side of Old Montreal. Highlights include the main hall of the former Royal Bank of Canada, which has been converted into cafe and public workspace. The architecture is stunning! Also of note is the fragment of the Berlin Wall housed in the Centre de Commerce Mondial (Montreal World Trade Centre). Laura was very knowledgeable about the history and kept the perfect pace. We highly recommend this tour as an overview of the history of the area.

    Interesting and informative
Our guide, JoAnn was excellent. Tour was interesting and informative, with lots of "official" information but also extra tidbits. We had explored ourselves the day before, but we received lots of insights that helped make for greater understanding. Highly recommended.

    Excellent mural tour and guide
My husband and I had an excellent tour with Sarah who was one of the best guides we’ve ever had. We really enjoyed viewing the murals and learning about the art form. Sarah was very knowledgeable, full of interesting commentary about the history of the mural festivals and the artists as well as the history and culture of Montreal. We would highly recommend both the subject matter and the guide.

    Not What It Promises
The tour guide wasn’t very knowlegable about the history of Montreal and wasn’t fully fluent in English (I speak French but my friend did not). We were so disappointed with the morning portion—no entry into the church, no entry into any building—that we skipped the afternoon portion and made our own tour.

We had a lovely walk around Old Montreal with our guide Laura. She was full of fascinating stories about Montreal old and new. She showed us many places we wouldn’t have found on our own. We really enjoyed both the tour and her company.

We spent about one hour of a two hour tour in stores - a maple store and a souvenir market. I could do that myself without spending money on a tour if I wanted to. I did not . i thought we would spend the two hours learning about Montreal.

Bonjour Mrs Brodkin, Thank you for your feedback! We are sincerely sorry and surprised to read your comments. The VIP tour normally includes a 10-15 minute break for a coffee and/or a treat that is included in the price of the tour (in the maple boutique or elsewhere), half way through or at the end of the visit. The main focus of the tour is history, architecture and relevant anecdotes about Old Montréal. Our guides are instructed to keep the visit about these topics and to not include any other stops, especially not in souvenir markets. You may be referring to Bonsecours Market, which has a lot of historical value. It does now house shops selling local crafts. If you would be kind enough to contact us directly to indicate the name of your guide or to share any additional feedback, it would certainly help us followup with your guide. Best regards, Guidatour's Team

We toured with Andre, who kept us moving and entertained for two hours. He gave us a history lesson of the old city and mixed in humor and “trick questions “ to keep us engaged and thinking. We visited Notre-Dame Basilica and its silent chapel, had a quick ice cream snack, and were introduced to the variety of Old Montreal’s architecture. This was a fun and educational way to become acquainted with the old part of the city.

This was a fabulous tour. The morning of our tour was rainy and chilly. My husband and 12-year old daughter were not very happy with me when I told them that we were going to go on the tour despite the weather. There was a mix-up with our reservation but Guidatour fixed it immediately and we were supplied with a tour guide within 5 minutes. The three of us were the only people on the tour (my guess is that others canceled due to the weather). Our tour guide, Sarah, was just perfect. When our tour ended, both my husband and daughter told me that she was the best tour guide we have ever had and that they loved the tour. I agree. Sarah was professional, informative, interesting and very responsive to questions. Sarah was also fantastic with my daughter and really engaged her in the whole experience. I highly recommend Guidatour and Sarah!

VIP means there were just a few of us on the tour, which was very nice. Our guide was a middle aged woman whose knowledge of the city and its history was very impressive, and whose voice i could listen too all day long. Walking tours with knowledgable guides is the way to go.

100% worth it. We both aren't big "tour" people. The semi private tour was fantastic. Nicolas was our guide. Very knowledgeable and just a good man. The larger tours had the leader using microphone and speaker. The private tour has just 6 people. Great way to learn about the city. We read a lot beforehand, but learned a ton during the tour. Highly recommend.
