About the operator
- kathleenlW3494UP00Excellent way to learn about Quebec CityThis was the perfect way to learn about Quebec City - we learned it is pronounced "Keybec". We started in the lower city and our guide (Carole) provided a comprehensive overview of the old city. We traversed around the city including taking the funicular to the top. Our guide provided just the right amount of information. I highly endorse this tour.
- Brittany Lynn E001000/10 starsThis tour was amazing! I loved that we got such different food at each stop and did not leave feeling hungry. Such a wonderful way to tour this beautiful city.
- Nelson L00Amazing evening food and wine tourOur evening food and wine tour is a bit pricey, but in my opinion worth the money. All the restaurants are top notch and there are 5 courses (my favourites being the shrimp flambe, and the tender, melt in your mouth beef) paired with wine / beer. Our guide Guy is amazing and told us all the fun facts about Quebec City. My wife and I enjoyed it a lot - definitely a highlight of our anniversary celebration.
- JDDFlyer00Foodie experience in Quebec City!I booked this tour for me and my two teenage daughters for a Thanksgiving treat! We met our tour guide Marie at the office and began our tour at the office which is located near the cruise ship terminal in New town… a total of four restaurant stops and Marie was engaging, inclusive of everyone in the group and very warm…two great spots off Champlain quarter including a microbrewery and then we took the funiculaire up the hill… two great spots, The Continental, and the Clan for fantastic fare which were in close proximity to the Chateau Frontenac. The Christmas Markets started today which was a great walking adventure for us after a great dining adventure… A great activity with teenagers as well!
- paulette m00We will be back!We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our guide was knowledgeable, informative, and pleasant. His passion for Quebec and it’s history is evident throughout the tour.
- LmlKl00Quebec CityDanielle was great talking about a city and province she loves. The restaurants selected were great. What a great way to taste foods from the area in great settings. We would recommend this tour to visitors who want to experience both food and history of Quebec. We will recommend and hope to come back. Quebec City is a beautiful city to visit without having to go to Europe.
- juliasC5136FY00Would highly recommend!Wonderful experience! Went to four very different restaurants. The food at each was delicious. Our host, Marie, was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Quebec as well as the food. Would definitely recommend!
- H3756FPseanh00Great walking tour!Really enjoyed the depth of knowledge our tour guide Marie provided. She immersed us in the history and culture during the entire tour. I’d highly recommend this tour
- deweydecimaldog00Highly Recommended Walking TourThis was an excellent walking tour of the lower and upper sections of the Old City. Our guide Pierre was energetic, friendly and thorough. He did a nice job of providing a range of information including historical, architectural, and cultural facts, as well as providing some trivia and other fun facts about life in Quebec City.
- debsmarten00A foodie and history delightI really, really recommend this tour if you like great food, learning a bit about old town Quebec with a pleasant walk thrown in. The restaurants were varied and you really did come away feeling like you had a five course dinner. Our guide Danielle was informative, humorous and an excellent dining companion. The food was delicious, the history fascinating and a bit of a stroll aided the digestion. All in all it was great fun.
- Carl T00A grand tour of a beautiful cityThe tour was great and very interesting. Jocelyn was a wonderful guide! She took care to answer all questions and is clearly passionate about Quebec and French Canadian history.
- Tom G00Local dining gems with an expert guide. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personally. The sights that we visited gave us a wonderful view of the city, the food was wonderful and provided a glimpse of venues that we could not hit found on our own.
- Zaqq00Fantastic local guide made this tour truly meaningfulThis was such a perfect tour of Old Quebec! Our guide Diane grew up in the city and had lived there all her life. She brought her experience and knowledge--and obvious love for her hometown--to the tour. This is a great way to get to know QC. I recommend it very highly.
- DianeC61000Disappointing.I was expecting so much more in the way of a historical tour of Quebec city. Walking from restaurant to the next restaurant, we were told of our surroundings. The problem is there wasn’t enough of history included in the tour for me. We spent more time in the 4 restaurants we visited. Another problem for me was the guides very French thick accent. I could not understand hardly anything she said. Add lots of noise and commotion to the mix and you understand nothing she is saying. We had our first course, a salad, at a nice restaurant. No choice of anything to drink other than water or wine At all the restaurants we visited. It was good, nothing real special. Our second restaurant, we had French onion soup. Very good, but nothing special. our third restaurant, we had shrimp flambé which was good and very, very filling. Our fourth restaurant was at a monastery. This is where we were presented with our main entrée. By this time I was stuffed and nothing on my plate was appealing. I ate nothing. We had one more stop for dessert, which my husband and I declined going to. We were stuffed to-the max and could not have put one more bite of food in our mouths. We ended our tour after the monastery. While our tour guide was pleasant and friendly, I feel I missed out on a lot of history because I could not hear her or understand her. Would I do this tour again? No. This tour is good for foodies who like to eat a lot. For me, I did not feel like it was worth almost $400 for this tour for my husband and I. That’s a lot of money. I would go back to Quebec city in a heartbeat. What a beautiful town with beautiful people.
- GregParsons00Good Introduction to Old Quebec City.Interesting history with good basic review of that. Guide seemed knowledgeable and walk went at a pleasant pace.

What a great evening in October to do a Food and Historical tour. We got lucky with the weather and having an excellent guide with Lynn.
When this tour says to come hungry they meant it! Lynn was extremely knowledgeable about Old Quebec. She was enlightening, entertaining and great interaction with the group. The food stops we made exceeded our expectations. Learning about the history and the food sustainability just in this city made each meal more than just a taste fest, It was an appreciation for the food that was served to us. This is a must do tour.

A little bit late to review but better late than never. My wife and I took this historical food tour of Quebec City in February 2020, and we are really glad we did. We were the only people on the tour so received the full attention of our host. I left the tour having learned so much more about the history of Quebec City, something I very much appreciated. We visited five establishments that took in appetizers, main courses ... note the plural! ... and dessert. All the courses were really very good. This is a great experience but certainly not like sitting down to eat a meal. Definitely recommended though.

Alexis was a friendly, outgoing tour guide who took us all around historic old Quebec! We had such a wonderful time on this tour and the restaurants, food, and wine were so delicious. We were also with a very nice group of people and the size of the group was on the smaller side which made it better to meet them and get to know everyone. Alexis did a great job of breaking the ice and making everyone open up and chat when we sat down to eat!
The only point of feedback I have is that I wish the way we learned about the history was more of a cohesive timeline of events mixed with story-telling and there was historical significance with the places we saw. I felt like this tour was leaning more toward dates and facts about buildings rather than stories.

Danielle was a terrific guide for 8 of us at 4 restaurants in 3 1/2 hrs including funicular ticket. Come hungry!! Salad and wine first stop. French onion soup and beer 2nd stop. 3rd stop one of Quebec’s finest — flambéed shrimp, rice and veggie with wine. Finally yet another full plate of local organic dishes and local wine WITH fabulous desserts at a monastery! Needless to say we cancelled our dinner reservation previously made!! In between she provided local tidbits while walking down some of the most well known streets in Quebec. Don’t miss this one if you are a foodie!!

Such a great food tour. Very different to others we have done as it comprises of a full meal, but eaten at several different restaurants. We met Lyn as requested and the tour started on time. After a short walk we started with a light salad which was delicious. Lynn explained that the ingredients were very fresh which they definitely were! Interspersed with historical facts and a short walk at another restaurant we were given a delicious soup and small beer taster. Next, and at yet another restaurant, we had a fabulous sauteed prawn in a lobster bisque sauce, flambéed at the table, with more wine. Such great service. After another short walk, more interesting historical facts, a delicious boeuf bourguignon served with vegetables and red wine. We finished with a meringue floating island. Such a great experience, history and food, what more could you want? We had a great time, Lynn was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

Marie was a FANTASTIC guide! Her love for the city was evident as she passionately shared what "Je me souviens".
As for me and my family, we will not forget her patience with our children and the professionalism she brings to her role.
This tour was the BEST part of our vacation- do not miss it!!

We had a wonderful afternoon with Marie, stopping at four uniquely different restaurants throughout the afternoon. She shared informative history along the way. We ended up being the only people on the tour, which made the whole afternoon more personal. We will bring paying more attention to markings on doorways and on the streets! And, now we will more easily spot the Aw flier vs French architecture. We highly recommend this tour for those who want informative details of the history of Quebec and its people, while enjoying terrific food along the way.

My husband and I were on our honeymoon at the end of December right when the government announced that all food services would be shutting down for New Years. We contacted HQ Services Touristiques immediately to see if they could change out New Years tour to two days earlier. Even though they were full, they made an exception for us so that we could have the experience! On the actual tour, we had Dennis as our tour guide, and he did an AMAZING job! He was so knowledgeable, comical, and happy to answer our questions. We loved hearing about his journey to learn English and become a tour guide, and we are so glad that he did because he is made for this job! Thank you HQ Services Touristiques for allowing us to take this tour on our honeymoon and to you Dennis for making it a highlight of our honeymoon!

Danielle was the best tour guide you could ask for! She was informative, entertaining, knowledgeable, and really seemed to love sharing Québec with visitors. Her recommendations for other places to visit in the city were spot on! The food was delicious, timely, and paired well with some wonderful drinks. The tour operator accommodated several allergies and a last-minute dietary preference. 1000% recommended.

It seems most of the tours in Quebec say “Not Wheelchair Accessible”. My mom can definitely walk, just not long distances, and I push her in the wheelchair so I’m fast as anyone walking. Is there any way she can do this tour ? I’m getting so frustrated and sad.

We would suggest you to book the Lowertown Evening Gourmet Tour. This one is more adapted to wheelchairs: short distance between restaurants and most of them have ADA accesses.

Do you have a choice of food as my husband does not eat fish or cheese. We are due to visit Quebec next year so reviewing options as will.only be there a few nights. Many thanks.

This tour there was no food choice. We didn’t have any seafood but we did have cheese. I believe when you sign up there is opportunity to notify of food allergies and I’m sure they would adjust to accommodate your needs.
Why is this a problem if you have back issues?

Hello, We are a group of 5 adults. I saw there is a trip with a sky lift included. Is it possible for one of us to skip, because of a fear of heights. We also need to be back at our cruise ship at 10 pm. I suppose this is not a problem?

You do not have to take the lift from the lower city to upper city and visa Verss. But you will have to do the steps and ramps. All very manageable. The lift was easy and fun. Hope this helps
