About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- JD_Laks0 contributionsWell organized 6 days trip with Raj’s helpMine was not ten day trip from Amritsar it was a trip to Dharamshala and Shimla for 6 days. When I decided to travel around Dharamshala and Shimla I reached out to Raj Bhatia based on reviews I had read and I was impressed by the service provided to my group of 3. The pick up from airport was seamless. I had requested for an Innova and Abhishek was our driver for the next 6 days driving around the hilly terrain of Dharamshala and then taking us on a 8 hours journey to Shimla/Theog and then dropping us at Chandigarh. I am a person afraid of driving at heights and with Abhishek I was not worried at all as I was able to trust his driving skills. He was very quiet and polite with us the whole time. His hindi songs collection during the long drive was very pleasing to listen to. Raj had arranged Sushil Kumar as guide for our two hikes - Guna Devi and Triund and I would definitely request him again if I hiked in the region. Also Raj arranged two local guides for siteseeing around Dharamshala and Shimla who were knowledgeable and made sure we got a good feel for the areas. Raj called everyday to let us know the plans for next day and made sure we had a good trip and we did.Written 5 September 2024

- 658sanghamitrab0 contributionsGreat trek, lovely tour, great guideI had the best experience of my life with this day trek from Gallu Devi Temple to Triund and back….my guide was a 23 year old lovely boy, Sachin, who is just the age of my son. He got the best out of the trek and took me safely till the top engaging in stories of these majestic mountains. Although it was raining and as a beginner I was taking my own time to cover the trek, not once did I see this young boy getting impatient to return back in a hurry. Thanks to Raj of Himachal by Locals who took an extra effort to make my trip a successful one.Written 4 September 2024

- 778geoffc0 contributionsThe Indian Hills. Well worth a visit.I stayed in Upper Bhagsu. I stayed in Bhagsu Nag Homestay (Muna Gill is the landlady). I was solo. I walked Triund Hill with a guide. I am 71 with two replacement hips and I found it tough, but I made it, and anyone with a reasonable level of fitness and some determination not to be beat can do the same. Terrific views and very much worth it. I mooched around McLeodGung and Dharamsala for a few days before heading to Delhi by overnight bus. Terrific stay made even more wonderful by the wonderful welcome from Muna and her husband.Written 5 August 2024

- vgrossmann20160 contributionsA perfect experience!I only had one day to spend in Dharmsala, and I wanted to see all the key sights. I made the right decision in booking a private tour and two airport transfers with Himachal Bylocals. I was immediately impressed with the professionalism exhibited by the staff. Raj, the owner, answered all of my messages on What’s App promptly. My driver Abhishek was wonderful. He picked me up promptly, spoke excellent English, and looked after me perfectly all day. He was a real treasure! The itinerary was excellent. We saw all of the key sites, and I could tailor the itinerary to my interests. Abhishek recommended a wonderful restaurant where I enjoyed a delicious meal with a wonderful view. I could stay as long as I liked at each site, and Abhishek was always at the designated pick up point waiting for me. We also corresponded through What’s App about meeting times. I highly recommend taking a tour with this company and using them for airport transport. Both services were a great value!Written 1 August 2024
- ConnecticutDoc0 contributionsDay trip!We took the 6 hour trip - it was well done, from the convenien pick up at the hotel to the informative visits to various sites including monasteries and museums. The Norbulingka Center with its Tibetan art/craft studios was a highlight. The drive was comfortable. I highly recommend this!Written 25 July 2024
- olganatashah0 contributionsMost do experienceWe took this private tour with Mr. Onkar. He was 9:00 am o’clock outside we were staying waiting for us. He was so nice and polite and answered all our questions, and I have to said, oh boy we had lots. The ride to the rock cut temple was a beautiful scene, and we were able to enjoy a more rural and natural landscape of the Kangra Valley. The archeological site was beyond amazing and Mr. Onkar explained a lot about it. The other sites we visited were also so cool the Kangra Fort, and the Hindu temple. Especially at the temple you get to see the religiosity of Indian Hindus, so beautiful and spiritual. Also got to say, the lunch place they choose for us was soooo sooo good, we got a chicken curry tomato base, sorry I don’t remember the name but it was so tasty and yummy. If you are in the region you must take these tours. We are now planning our second tour to Palampur!Written 8 July 2024
