Itinerary
- 1Pick-up is early in the morning and on the drive to Amboseli National Park, you’ll get your first glimpse of Africa’s tallest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,000-foot). The world-famous summit rises ever higher as we approach Amboseli Park. After check-in at the gate, we drive into the park in search of wildlife. This will be a day of unbelievable elephant spotting but there’s so much other wildlife in this compact, yet busy, reserve. You, your fellow safari adventurers, and your Gemfinders Safari guide will track lion, giraffe, buffalo, impala, cheetah, and wildebeest. We’ll take you on a game drives in Amboseli once you check in at the park. You will wet an opportunity to appreciate the park’s wildlife during the safari over the savannah and acacia forest. You will marvel at the wildlife and sceneries of this park. Drive to Observation Hill to view the sprawling breadth of Amboseli and enjoy lunch. Drive back to Nairobi, arriving at around 5 pm for drop-off at your hotel or airport.

- 302priitr0 contributionsPerfect, compact Nairobi City TourI had the pleasure of joining Nairobi City Tour, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The walking tour was thoughtfully designed, compact yet comprehensive, showcasing the vibrant essence of the city's West side. The guide expertly guided us through Nairobi's bustling street life, ensuring we didn't miss a moment of the city's dynamic energy. The tour included all the key landmarks, from important Government buildings to bustling markets, and even a fascinating visit to the British Empire-era Railway Station, Library. Guide also brought to life the history of the grand Court, Churches, and University houses, weaving together Nairobi's past and present in an engaging and informative way. The guide's deep knowledge and enthusiasm made this tour truly memorable. If you're looking for a well-rounded introduction to Nairobi, this tour is a must!Written 3 December 2024

- Wander5894550 contributionsGreat way to learn about NairobiDaniel was a great guide. He was knowledgeable, funny and able to cater to our family, which includes a 10-year-old and a teenager. Seeing the giant storks with their nests everywhere was one of the many highlights. Our tour was 2-hours and there were three other people on the tour with us. It was nice to meet people from different backgrounds and countries to share this experience. Daniel did show us how some of the damage from the recent protests, and despite everything that has happened, we felt completely safe in Nairobi.Written 20 July 2024

- rymiar0 contributionsA reputable company you can trust! And a blast on Safari. This was our first safari, and we were skeptical about what tour company to hire. After nearly being scammed by another tour company, we were impressed by the professionalism of Achillies Safaris. It is commonplace to pay for the whole safari up front, so parting with thousands of dollars is not easy. Dennis, who helped us organize the trip, was extremely responsive and helpful in tailoring the safari to our needs. Our guide/driver, Peter, was prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable about the animals. He was also easy-going and got us everywhere we needed to be on time. He was an incredibly skilled and safe driver, which is needed on the bumpy roads, and in the wet, muddy conditions we experienced. The lodging was all impeccable— they have curated quite the experience! We organized the safari for our honeymoon and couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out! I have highly recommended Achillies Safaris to all my friends and family – book them, you won’t regret it!Written 31 March 2024
- 156bethk0 contributionsVery informative and interesting. The meeting place was a little confusing, but I did catch up with daniel. One other person on tour with me. We walked around the center of the city that is mostly governmental and business. It is not residential at all. The buildings were not all that interesting to look at, but they did bring up things for us to talk about and things for me to learn about nairobi, Kenya, and lifestyle here. We saw the site of the 1998 US Embassy bombing, statues of some of the freedom fighters who helped to free Kenya from British colonialism, and we talked about dowries and marriages, etc. Talked about children and the culture. I thought it was a very good orientation to nairobi and Kenya, although, perhaps, not a very representative sampling of the city? Nevertheless, recommend.Written 28 February 2024
