Way to save money in Sri lanka
This is the way I travel in Sri Lanka first Colombo don't trust tuk tuk driver they will charge more if you can use local buses they very cheap and will take you to Lot's of places, I used them to travel from Colombo to all the other cities trains are not fast they travel slow and they don't run in a straight line like buses that's the way I travel. Dambulla from there take a bus to Anuradhapura I didn't pay any money to visit any of the historical places they were free as no one ask me for money only the tuk tuk driver ask me to pay him to visit the city which is LKR 5000 I didn't pay him I said I pay you at the end he said friend get the ticket cheaper I said I will pay when I get to the main places as I found out no ticket were issue and no one ask as I entered every sites! the only money I paid is for him to drive me there which is LKR 300 that's all do not give money to the driver and agree that you will pay at the end!! In Dambulla I found that very nice and honest and very friendly if any one like this is his number 0761059998 his name is Gayan I don't get any money if any one use him as I found him very helpful I asked for his number especially if a female solo travele .

2 women travelling Sri Lanka for 10 days
Through doing some research online, I found the name Shiyan Fazool (shiyanfazool@gmail.com) mentioned a number of times, with positive reviews.  Shiyan always responded to emails promptly and we decided to employ his services as a driver for our 10 days in Sri Lanka.  It was not until one of his last emails, that we realised he would be sending a driver. Our driver was Irshad Shabar, and as two women travelling together, we felt very safe in Sri Lanka. Irshad Shabar was a very safe driver - he explained road rules as we went along and stuck to them. Irshad met us with a travel plan, but it was not a problem to change it to what we wanted. And when circumstances changed - we were going to visit a family friend, which fell through - it was easy enough to change the plan again. Irshad was knowledgeable about Sri Lanka, and we were able to talk about any topic with him. Irshad was very approachable. We were able to ask him anything - from how much we should tip people (as someone from a non tipping country) to cultural questions and about the different religions in Sri Lanka Irshad was always punctual - early even to pick us up and happy to give us all the time to see what we want to see. He cleaned his car every day - inside and out and we appreciated his great suggestions for accommodation - friendly families, great food, amongst the nature - monkeys, crocodiles Anyone would be lucky to have Irshad As their driver and guide.

Sri Lanka is a must visit destination!
This small but magical island country is a great getaway destination for just about anyone - honeymoon couples, middle-aged couples (like us!), families, group of friends, corporate groups out on a business retreat, and of course also the inveterate sole traveler! Pristine beaches, verdant flora everywhere, misty hills with terraced tea gardens, forests with waterfalls and gushing streams, tranquil lakes, ancient archaeological sites, wildlife parks, quaint villages, irresistible handicrafts, excellent seafood, spotlessly clean and green cities, accommodation available to suit the needs and the budget of both royalty and the lowest budget backpacker, immaculately maintained Dutch, Portuguese and British colonial eras buildings, modern skyscrapers - this lovely island country has it all, and more! The cherry on the cake, (and a large juicy one it is ), is that you will be hard pressed to find more courteous, friendly and helpful people anywhere else in the world
