We booked with Down Hill adventures and they let us down at the very last moe¡ment (6 pm the day before)
Finally we were able to do the activity thanks to some friends, but we had booked with Downhill adventures and they let us down. They were supposed to call us the day before to tell us about pick up time. At 6 pm we had not hear danything from them, so we called. They said they had a problem with the boat (and I guess with their telephone, since they forgot to call us to inform) and that they were looking for a solution, they said they were going to call back, but they never did. We finally did the activity as we had met a person working for another company and they were able to help. The activity is great, something that should be enjoyed (and not dangerous). Di it, but not with this supplier.

Downhill Adventures not answering phone calls or emails
Downhill Adventures, We have tried to contact you a number of times during the past 3 weeks (13 unanswered phone calls & 3 emails without reply). It seems as though someone is not interested in answering the phone as it rings a few times and then gets rejected - the fact that this has been happening for 3 weeks is worrying for your business. We have an activity voucher for R2000 which we would like to use on our holiday down here but we are unable to book anything as there is no response from either of the two lines of contact you have provided. Please advise how I can get in contact with you.

        Highly recommended surf boarding lesson
Mark and his son were terrific coaches for us and our two sons. We throughly enjoyed learning to surf as total beginners.

Fitting name for the quality of service
My friends and I had booked a sandboarding tour with them a couple days previous to the day we were supposed to go, but the late the night before they cancelled on us saying that they were overbooked AFTER WE HAD PAID. Very frustrating and ruined part of our day. But if you want a reliable and REALLY amazing sandboarding/dune buggy experience in Cape Town, check out Dune Thrasher! They were INCREDIBLE!

        DONT BOOK HERE!!
We booked a quad biking tour en could not find the place, so we called the number in the email and nobody picked up the phone.. we drove back to the office where they told us we do not get the money back.. they are thiefs! The guy Alex did not told us the terms of condition before and now he was pretending this is normal! He promised to send us a email if we maybe could get our refund..no email..but when he saw the bad review he suddenly could reply...DO NOT BOOK HERE!! He only told us LIES, LIES, LIES.. So if you want to give your money just for free, go to this company.. otherwise be smart and book with another company!

Mountain bike tour on Table Mountain
I went on a mountain bike tour on Table Mountain with Downhill Adventures with a friend. Our guide James was a really nice guy with a lot of patience and humor. The tour ended with a small sightseeing in Cape Town on bike as well. We felt that this was a really good experience.

        Shark cage diving nightmare
Joined this organization last week with four friends. We were really looking forward this experience but came home desillusionater: bad quality gear, unfriendly staff and a lot of waiting time. Would not recommend this. Price quality unfair and one of our staffs was drunk and smoked disgusting cigarillos all day

        SHARK DIVING SCAM
It's horrible. We booked the shark diving for A LOT OF MONEY, but they cancelled it twice. Therefore, one friend of us wasn't in Cape Town anymore and could not make it anymore after the second cancellation. For 3 months he is trying to get in touch, but he is just ignored, money never to be seen again. There are a lot of shark diving firms around there, so just don't go to this one!

        Shark Cage Diving
One of the worst customer experiences i have ever had. After they switched the time of the activity twice, thereby making it unable for me to attend the trips because of other planned activities, they refused to give my money back. To make matters even worse, they ignored emails, sometimes waiting over 1 month (!) to react to my emails. There are plenty of other companies who provide such day trips, so if you want to do one, i would definitely recommend going to another one.. Deeply disappointed.

fun BUT DO NOT GO WITH BRUCE
Quadbiking was very fun but be prepared to not have an any free range you follow the leader and go single file in the dunes. You can leave some space and therefore go faster but you do not get to go around or free roam at all. It was fun except Bruce, our downhill adventure guide for quad biking was the OPPOSITE of adventure OR fun. We wanted to go faster or have a little fun his attitude was horrible and he was rude and condescending as if he is the god of all quad biking. Im sure he is a nice human but genuinely he is better off working in admin or in an office- he is not the type to be working for an ADVENTURE company. His attitude was not "lets have fun!" AT ALL and it made the experience so much less fun. Would recommend this activity but ask for someone that isnt Bruce

        Amazing experience !
We went diving with the great white shark and it was really amazing ! The staff was very cool and cautious, and we were lucky to see the first shark less than 10 minutes after we stopped the boat ... 4 sharks in all and only 8 people on the boat, what a good day ! Everything was fine and we would not change anything if we could come back. Thank you for your good mood and your knowledge :) Claire and Marco from all over the world !

Ruan and Jennifer made this experience the most memorable one for me. I would always book adventure trips with Downhill Adventure every time I am in a CapeTown. The only hitch we had was the weather as I could not spend the scheduled hours sandboarding but the friendliness and the hospitality of Ruan and Jennifer made up for that. I love them so much. Thank you.

Sandboarding was very nice. It's easy and fun. However, after half an hour, it tends to get boring. Therefore I recommend the quad biking and Sandboarding combo.

I was privileged to be a part of a group who experienced Sandboarding, Quad biking and 4x4ing. Sandboarding is not for sissies, those dunes are a workout to climb. Wax your board, try stand up and wheee off you go! It's a ball of fun sitting 2 on a board. You may fall.. you'll survive the tumble. Just get up and carry on, it's fun!

Quad biking was my absolute favourite. I highly recommend it, the quads are easy to drive (accelerate/break and steer!), with a guide to follow behind and in front of the group. Beautiful views of the dunes, the Atlantic sea and Table Mountain. Try not to fall over, the bike will follow.

4x4ing is a breeze in their vehicle, they drive carefuly and with experience. It's a very comfortable drive, we even saw a klipspringer and cobra, a bit of a safari on the way.

Thanks guys, I really enjoyed the energy of the team, and I've crossed a few things off my bucket list. Hats off to Bux, Axel and Rafael. Hope to come again!

Tips: If the weather in CT is bad, it is most often OK in the Atlantis dune +-40minutes away. If the wind picks up it can get a bit unpleasant. Sand gets absolutely everywhere, wind or no wind! No loos at the moment, there is a welcome centre being built which will open soon, and there is a petrol station with loos 10 minutes drive down the road. Leave the valuables at home. Bring a cap, sunscreen, and camera, wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

The team from downhill adventures offered us an incredible daytrip to the Atlantis dunes near Capetown.
We started with Sandboarding what was really funny, but also exhausting because you had to climb up that damn dunes everytime you just slided it down. ;) But you really don't need any experience, I never stood on a sand/snowboard before and managed to stand a few times already. Has been a lot of fun!
After that we did the quadbiking - also in the dunes - what's been simply amazing. Racing up and down the dunes, through some tiny paths and drifting in open fields - absolutely worth it!

On Monday i was sandboarding and quadbiking with the Company Downhill Adventures.
We started our trip at 10 am and first we saw a lot of the West Coast. At 11 am we arrived and had a lot of fun on the quad bikes.
After a lunch and some nice conversations, we did the second part of the combo and drove to the Altantis dunes to do Sandboarding and it was very funny and amusing.
It was a nice day with friendly guides and lots of fun!
If you are in Cape town, do a trip with downhill adventures :)

On my holiday in Cape Town I really wanted to try the Sandboarding. I'm used to snowboarding in Europe, but in Cape Town I wanted to do this similar sport called sandboarding. I booked a half day of Sandboarding with Downhill Adventures in the dunes of Atlantis. Together with Dan, the guide, who did a great job and a nice group of other tourists I had an amazing experience! The weather was great and sandboarding was a lot of fun and it was very easy to learn it. Also it is done in a area with beautiful views. I highly recommend this activity with Downhill Adventures!
