About the operator

- brendaQ816FR0 contributionsWasootch RidgeSpent a fun day with Shauna hiking Wasootch Ridge. There were amazing views from the top! Kananaskis has been Shauna's playground for many years and she knows it inside out. She has a wealth of knowledge of the local flora and fauna and this really added to the adventure as I'm a bit of a plant geek. Shauna is a 'safety first' kind of guide and I felt totally at ease hiking in bear country with her. I highly recommend her!Written 13 January 2021
- MoniqueNDA0 contributionsFabulous!!!For me and my husband the most incredible place to visit on the Rockies! The lake is secluded, silent, gorgeous and has the most amazing hiking trail I've ever done! It takes about 1 hour to get to the end, where you have a glacier on the left and a waterfall on the right side. Fabulous! Arrive around 9am to enjoy better. The road to get there is also incredible! Totally worth it.Written 9 November 2020
- Isa19710 contributionsYes, you can go by car !The trail is great all the way to the ink pots! The only 2 ways to access the canyon by car, is either by booking a night at the lodge or simply making a reservation at the Johnston canyon lodge for lunch. Once you do the reservation, they will send you a confirmation by email and you simply have to show your confirmation at the beginning of the road. We were served in 10 minutes and we were ready to go 45 minutes after. Encourage them ! It’s the best way to make it to the canyon this summer !!!Written 9 August 2020
- genebi20190 contributionsGreat outing to Johnston CanyonWe had a great hike up the ink pot. Shauna was well prepared so we could enjoy ourselves. thankfully, as it was quite slippery. I enjoyed Shauna’s willingness to share her knowledge of rock formations, weather patterns, history, etc. I recommend her service if you’re new to hiking or unfamiliar with the area!Written 28 October 2019
- Estefani O0 contributionsAbsolutely amazing!!This tour totally made my vacation worth while! As a first in the Canadian Rockies and being a beginner hiker, I was extremely nervous but Shauna our guide was so great and knowledgeable of the area that it made all the difference! We did the Rawson Lake trail and I can't recommend it enough! Thanks Shauna! :D Will definitely book again the next time I'm in town.Written 19 September 2018
- AntoniaElise0 contributionsGreat Guide! My husband and I hiked the Stanley Glacier Trail with Shauna, and had an extremely memorable experience. She was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife, and we found ourselves utilizing the information we learned from her during the entire course of our trip to Banff and Jasper. She was a delight to hike with, and she truly enhanced our hiking experience and our trip.Written 10 September 2017
- London123travels0 contributionsone of the higlights of my tripShauna guided me to Lake Helen and we had a wonderful day. She is great company and very knowledgeable about the area, I loved spending the day with her and would highly recommend booking a hike with her.Written 8 October 2016
- Bestmom2180 contributionsAmazing Lake Louise HikeShauna guided us up the Plain of Six Glacier trail and beyond the tea house to the lookout. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the area, local wildlife and safety with wildlife, geology, flora and much more. She made the hike even more enjoyable. I would love to hike with her again and would recommend her guiding services to anyone who is looking for a personalized mountain guiding experience.Written 21 September 2016
- Kathy C0 contributionsPriceless KnowledgeBeyond a doubt, the hiking trip with Shauna up the Bow River was one of the fondest memories we will have of our time in Banff. But it was made even better with her experience and local knowledge. We actually "learned" about what we were photographing, and that made it priceless! A walking classroom... it doesn't get any better than that. Thanks, Shauna!Written 29 August 2015
- Elifly190 contributionsFantastic hiking trip!We took two day hikes with Shauna in the Banff/Lake Louise area and had a wonderful time! Shauna provided us with lot's of interesting information on the flora, fauna and geological history of the region and took us to a beautiful, off the beaten path trail. I was hiking with my two older parents, and Shauna paced the hike perfectly and helped my parents traverse difficult sections of the trail. We had a blast! I would definitely recommend a hike with Shauna to anyone looking for a mountain guide to explore this beautiful region!Written 18 August 2015

Shauna was an absolute delight. She has an easy-going energy that made the day relaxing and fun. She is extremely qualified, experienced and knowledgeable. My hike today with her was a more accessible/mid range hike but I would most certainly look forward to more expert/advanced experiences with her! Her demeanour is such that she is easy to be around and her ability in all kinds of outdoor experiences make me excited to adventure with her again in the future! With her, I feel like advanced and expert level adventures are accessible and I would fully trust her with my bucket list tours!

Sure so long as you have sturdy ankles, the trail is up a creek bed for a fair way. Sorry for the late reply we just learned Trip Advisor has this Q & A feature.
