About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- ToCoralWithLove0 contributionsFun way to explore! This was a fun interactive activity that provided an alternative to guided cut walks. Designed for groups of young and old, it can also be completed individually. Basic historical facts were provided after each clue. 4 star rating only because I would have liked more details about the area. If you're only looking for an interactive group activity for families it'd probably be a 5 star rating.Written 18 October 2020

We are a family of 5 with children aged 10, 6 and 6 months and were on holiday in Somerset looking for something to do on a potentially rainy day. We had never visited Bristol but always fancied it so decided to head that way. A quick internet search the night before led us to the Pirate themed treasure hunt which looked perfect for our family.
We were not disappointed! The game runs on a phone and is a bit like a WhatsApp conversation where you follow instructions, maps and pictures to find areas around the city. At each point (there were 11 in total) there is a feature and a riddle to solve. Once solved the next instruction pings through and on you go.
The game worked really well and the kids loved searching for the answers to the riddles. We feel like we really got to see Bristol and found out lots of things that we wouldn’t have had we not used the game. A great experience and a reasonable price! Looking forward to exploring another city in the same way!

We played as two adults and three children. We took around 3hrs to complete it, but that included a 1hr long stop for a picnic and relax, as it was 30 degrees the day we did it!
The kids were able to answer most of the questions... (aged 8,10 and 11). It was just about the right length of time, distance covered and difficulty for a young family to enjoy without getting bored.
The delivery of messages and clues worked really well... We liked getting a bit of history /information along the way too.
It was a fun and enjoyable way to spend the day.

Brilliant - it all reveals in real time, and is exciting and informative. Loved it! I was with a 9 year old and an 11 year old, and they loved the way there’s an interaction and suspense when the Pirate is writing. We got exercise, saw parts of the city and found out some details we didn’t already know

I played Treasure Hunt Bristol with my husband and six month old baby in her pram and we had a great time. The route was great and took us to all the must see bits of the city and also to some places off the beaten track. The clues were fun to solve, not too hard and it was great we could ask for hints the few times we were stuck.
I liked that we could go at our own pace and we stopped for a coffee and drinks as we went round. Searching for clues definitely made us pay attention and notice more of the little details in the city.
We played in the summer when the lockdown had eased, but this would be totally fine to play with social distancing as you each have a phone and everything is outdoors. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to see Bristol in a fun and different way!

If you're looking for an outdoor socially-distanced socialising idea that isn't just another walk, I recommend these Treasure Hunts. I did one with friends on Boxing Day, it was great. Aimed at a group that's a mix of adults and kids, but works for just adults too.

Thoroughly enjoyed our day, covered it all in our own time, visiting places on the way.
Unfortunately there are quite a lot of works being carried out and City Hall had parts cordoned off, missing the clue.
Would recommend xx

We normally do a guided tour but because one member of our group is on crutches, and we knew he wouldn’t be able to keep up with a guided tour, we decided to try this instead because we knew we could build in as many stops as he needed.
This was great fun, a really enjoyable way to walk around the city and everyone in the group had fun - I would recommend this to any group wanting to do something a bit different from the usual guided tours.
I would definitely recommend that you have a charger for your phone (as recommended in the joining instructions) I forgot to take mine and unfortunately my phone ran out of battery before we’d finished.

We’re delighted that our treasure hunt provided a different way for you to see Bristol. Lots of people really enjoy the flexibility it offers. It’s great to hear you all had fun.
We have games in other cities, if you fancy more? Check our website for details.
There's only 2 of us, we don't have a marketing team, so your review is really important. Thank you!

I wanted to rate this experience 5 out of 5, but for some technical reason on my phone I can only rate it 4 out of five. I don’t know why this is. My 12 year old daughter and I had a lot of fun moving place to place and solving the riddles. As we stopped off at a lot of cafes and shops along the way, the trail actually kept us entertained for over 4 hours! It made wandering around Bristol so much fun. We loved the riddles, the interactivity of the trail, and the fact you learnt a little history along the way. I would actually like to do one of these in my hometown of Manchester. Highly recommend! It is money well spent.

A clearly well thought out, well put together tour. The organisers have put a lot of effort into this and it's apparent after just a few of the clues.
First one is the toughest as you're just getting a feel for how it works, then it's easy to hit your stride.
Lovely morning in the sunshine seeing some sights and learning new things about the city we have loved for almost a decade.

We did the treasure hunt as a team building event, we were split into three teams. The event was well thought out and easy to follow, the clues were not obvious so made you think which was really good.
Everyone that took part really enjoyed it, we had a few people new to the area, they agreed it was a great way of exploring the city.
Would definitely recommend and do it again with friends

You will visit various places around Bristol, the whole tour is about 3 miles in total but will take you to places in the city you may not know about
