Quite the opposite of terrible - Fun and Entertaining
I did a walking tour guided by Chuck and had a wonderful time. Firstly, it was a small group, so no one got lost or left behind and everyone could easily gather around Chuck to hear the information he was telling us. Secondly, the walking was easy (no killer steep hills etc) but it would still be worth wearing a comfortable pair of shoes so you can thoroughly enjoy the walk. (Some streets are cobblestone or paved and so flat walking shoes are always going to be best for balance). Thirdly I had been to Cambridge about 15 years ago and done a walking tour then. Chuck covered 1 or 2 of the standard places you'll find on any walking tour - but I genuinely learned far more new interesting facts and stories about Cambridge. Thoroughly recommend it!

Limited only by your own imagination; let it go!
Our informative and entertaining guide walked us around a number of spots in central Cambridge, primarily University-linked, and recounted some historical tales with a supernatural element. Certainly didn't scare anyone's socks off but it's a good walk in a historic setting and the antics of our ancestors never ceases to amaze.

    Great Terrible Stories!
We took this tour to do something different and enjoyed it. We loved the "ghost" stories and the "terrible" history stories. It's a fun thing to do in a historic town!

    Excellent walking tour of Cambridge
We did the Creepy Cambridge tour with Stacey and would highly recommend. The tour lasted approximately 1h 45m and we walked around 2km at a gentle pace. Stacey was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her subject matter, had fantastic props to bring her stories to life and interacted well with everyone on the tour, answering questions and allowing time for people to take photos. We learnt lots of history, heard lots of spooky tales and discovered some interesting places we decided to go back to the following day. We went on the tour as a family and our 9 year old loved it. I would say children need to be age 8+ to really get something from it. Overall excellent tour and well worth the money.

    Curiosity satisfied
An excellent and informative tour which was not at all fusty or boring. Simon the guide was charming and inclusive and could answer all questions. He knew the history as well as how the colleges work today. He showed us some very interesting architectural features we would have missed on our own. We thoroughly enjoyed our 90 mins with him and would recommend the tour.

    Curious Cambridge
The tour was very interesting and engaging in highlighting the history of Cambridge and it’s main attractions. The tour guide Stacey appeared to be knowledgeable of her history in the City which made the tour exciting and worthwhile for someone not having visited Cambridge before.

    Highly entertaining
Stacey was very entertaining and showed us loads of nooks and crannies that we would never had discovered by ourselves. Really interesting bits of history with the odd gruesome tale thrown in.

    Lacklustre Tour
We were expecting a fun and informative tour but I’m afraid it was lacklustre and tedious. We ranged in age from 80 to 8 and it didn’t pique the interest of any of us.

    Really fun and informative
We had so much fun being show the history of the city we have lived in for the last few years. There was so much we didn’t know and all of it was delivered in a really entertaining manner by our guide. We were lucky enough to pick a quiet time and we had our guide all to ourselves and we really enjoyed spending the 1.5 hour walk with her. We will be signing up for the creepy tour next!

A great way to see Cambridge
We went in a private tour as a big group of students, and we were offered a student discount at £15 per person. Stacey lead our tour and I had an amazing time. It was a great balance of history and ghost stories and was a great way to see Cambridge. Stacey also told us a few bonus ghost stories after the tour as we were walking in the same direction. Would definitely recommend 😊

    Really informative
Simon was our guide and was full of really interesting information which brought the streets of Cambridge to life in a different way when we heard about some of the less than pleasant goings on. I emailed Simon twice before the tour in order to ask questions surrounding the tours suitability for a disabled person. He replied auickly and nothing seemed too much trouble. This is well worth the money. Give it a go if you can.

    Excellent!
Words of 10 year old boy "This was a great tour. We learnt lots of really interesting and funny and horrible things about Cambridge which we didn't already know. Simon knows so much and I really liked talking to him. He's funny and does lots of different voices because he was an actor. I think children and grown ups will enjoy this a lot and should book the tour." The adult who accompanied him wholeheartedly agrees!

Our guide Chris was a friendly chap who was knowledgeable on the ghostly tales of the city, however it wasn't macabre enough for my wife and I and we felt it was somewhat lacking.
This might have been because one of the guests was a young girl and he was playing down the tour so as not to frighten her, or it could have been because Cambridge is just not that scary?
I wanted to be frightened and feel as if the places we were being taken would come alive but unfortunately it barely scratched the surface.
That aside, it was an enjoyable 90 minutes and we did get to learn about some of the more unusual sites which are right under peoples noses without them knowing.

Thanks for the feedback and for taking the time to give a review. I’ll recheck our website and other materials and to be honest our intent is very much to be ‘creepy’ ie fun/funny scary, and family friendly, and not terrifying ie horror movie or children having nightmares. I did check with Chris and understand that there was a 5 year old girl in the party which is maybe at the young end, but that Chris had tailored his performance to account for that. Given we aspire to be about entertainment and for the whole family I think that was as it should be but I’m sorry that was not your expectation. I know there are some more ‘scary’ ghost walks in some cities, like Edinburgh and London, but not for now here in Cambridge. Thanks again.

Stacy was an AMAZING guide. She had so many stories to share with us and did so in an extremely interesting and engaging manner. We luckily had a small group for the tour so could hear everything well and the tour felt more personal. At the end, Stacy kindly walked back with us and told us more stories of Cambridge's history, so we got even more than we paid for. Would highly recommend booking this tour if you are into creepy stories!!

Me and my fiancé had the most amazing, personal tour! My fiancé had booked this tour as a birthday present as I love all things spooky. Stacey was our tour guide, and as it was only us on our tour, this made the tour feel incredibly personal! Stacey was wonderful with all her creepy tales and tales of history too! She gave us more stories that we wouldn’t of heard if the group was bigger.

Stacy had props to help the stories comes to life, the story with the mask was a personal favourite of mine! Stacy told us the story of two lovers at the college, down a dark alley way, there was only the three of us and I did hear what sounded like chains rattling. At the end of the tour, we reached one of the colleges and one of the most haunted areas in Cambridge, and at this spot, I felt an unease, (I do feel changes in energies, and a little bit psychic, maybe that’s from years of living in a haunted house!) as if someone was watching us and a headache once I arrived and left the area, and on another street, the road was completely straight with no bumps in it, I felt as if I was walking drunk, or as if I was on a choppy ship, it was very strange.

But this tour was simply wonderful and can’t praise our guide Stacy enough, thank you so much for the wonderful tour, that I’ll never forget and I will definitely tell friends to take this tour!! Thank you

We really enjoyed this tour.

Not quite what I was expecting but none the less entertaining and informative.
I had imagined lots of ghost stories from previous tours like this in other cities however I was actually was pleasenty surprised with more of a creepy history lesson of the city, told by Chris with enthusiasm second to none.

Must do on your first night really as it helped orientate us in the city.

Finished at a pub steeped in history to enjoy a drink.

Thanks for making our night!

What a great tour! Stacey was an amazing tour guide who was incredibly knowledgable, entertaining and friendly. She made the 1 hour and 45 mins fly by and was even kind enough to ensure we got to a taxi safely along with some extra stories!
A really great tour and we got to see parts of the city we had never been to before.
Loved the use of props by Stacey to support the stories -the fact she loved doing the tours really shone through and it is one of the best ghost walks we have done!
Thank you for a really enjoyable evening.

I just wanted to leave a review for Chris who was a fantastic tour guide! Had no idea what to expect but Chris shared some amazing knowledge about Cambridge and made the whole experience really interesting and interactive. We had families and children on our tour and Chris was excellent at adapting gruesome facts in a child friendly way (a professional!). Would 100% recommend this tour!

Many thanks for your review, and delighted to hear that Chris as ever was tailoring the stories to the crowd - we aim to be creepy, and if no young ones around as scary as the group want, but don't want to be responsible for any nightmares!
