A really enjoyable half day kayaking with Nils. There were four in our party. 2 x. Adults, a seven and eleven year old. We saw a seal, kingfishers and Nils provided interesting local information as we floated down and up the river.

Nils and his team were brilliant throughout our first experience of sea kayaking. A lovely welcome and very clear briefing set us up for an amazing day along the Devon coastline. What a fantastic way to check out the views and explore some secluded beaches. We look forward to visiting again next Summer :-). Thank you to Nils

I had considered trying my hand at kayaking and so being a complete novice I contacted Paddle Devon, spoke to Nils and was offered a few options and decided that a One to One half day lesson would be highly beneficial to me. I met Nils at the allotted time in Totnes ( what a perfect location, cheap parking and just a few steps away from the waters edge) Nils first checked all of my kit and then started by explaining safety procedures and the effect of tide and how this would impact our journey and any pitfalls that I may expect. We boarded our kayaks and set off, I was introduced to the various paddle strokes to start me going and was guided down the river Nils always close by, as we took a leisurely paddle we chatted about various things that we found we had in common and he pointed out things of interest, very relaxing but Nils never once took his eye off the ball correcting me at times on my paddling technique , we then headed back to our start point as the tide began to turn in our favour, and As Nils had encouraged me and helped to build confidence he then introduced me to more paddling techniques . We arrived back, and to continue my lesson Nils loaned me a full wetsuit in order to carry out rescue training (me capsizing and re-entering my kayak unaided) easier said than done but I did manage it a few times Nils again always close at hand to assist. This introductory lesson was all that I hoped for and has given me the confidence to go out alone in calm conditions at least to put into practice those valuable techniques that are required, I fully intend to join in on some of the excursions that paddle Devon have to offer. Nils is a great guy and his wealth of experience and knowledge is invaluable , and in my humble opinion if you are considering kayaking for the first time or need guidance……. You need this Guy 🙂

First time kayaking!!...it was absolutely great, but me and my family were dying towards the end,luckily we had Dave as our instructor, he made the trip fun and Interesting, had loads of fun! 5/5

I've never kayaked before and my daughter has only been a couple of times, so a pair of novices. As soon as we arrived Nils was friendly and very helpful. We were given a safety brief and gave us an explanation of how to paddle, turn and Nils gave us tips on how to make things easier as we went on our adventure. We saw seals and seabirds which was amazing. As we went along, Nils shared a lot of interesting local knowledge which made the trip even more pleasurable. All in all we had a fantastic trip.

My wife and I had an excellent time kayaking on the river dart, I booked on line with kayakhub totnes. We met in the car park and was talked through the safety aspects thoroughly, was told if we kayaked down to the weir we may see seals but unfortunately we weren't lucky enough. But we had 2hrs in excellent weather. I would definitely recommend Kayakhub Totnes for a very good and safe experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We hired canoes to paddle down to Stoke Gabriel and back. 4-4.5hours in total. We weren't sure what was best to book (2 adults 2 kids, little experience), but the advice and responsiveness was appreciated. Sunny weather and spotting a seal made it a great day. 4 hours paddling takes some doing tbh.

Glorious evening, lovely spot, very friendly service, helpful tuition, very safe part of the river. Perfect way to relax and unwind.

Had an excellent informative kayak lesson with Nils. Felt very safe and given loads of useful information as well as some good kayaking tips. Thoroughly recommended.

Today I had a skills training session with Nils, what a super nice guy. So chilled and patient, but at the same time full of knowledge and was able to break down each step into easy to remember stages. I will most definitely be booking again, to progress my paddling skill set. I really cannot recommend Kayakhub highly enough, they were really friendly and were so easy to deal with. Try them out, you will not be disappointed.

Had such a fantastic time, really helpful staff, Nils has great knowledge and really helpful. I went with my 3 girls which I thought would be a handful but I had wonderful help, no fuss and great tips for an fun easy day. My girls loved it and learnt how to paddle and steer. Great prices too. We'll be going again soon!
