What to expect
  • We pick you up from Brighton train station and transport you through the Sussex countryside to the Bluebell Steam Railway. The set of countless film and TV dramas such as Downton Abbey, the Bluebell railway is the finest preserved steam railway in the UK. Step back in time as we drop you off at Sheffield Park Station where your expert guide will show you onto the platform and tell you the history of this famous historic railway. After your short tour of the station, your locomotive will arrive and you will be greeted into a historic carriage and take an hour and a half journey through the Sussex countryside. Your guide will be with you to answer any questions, or you can just relax and enjoy the scenery. After you have returned to Sheffield Park, its a brief drive to our favourite country pub for a specially selected menu of local produce. After lunch, it’s just a five minute drive to Bluebell Vineyard Estates – here you will be greeted by their expert guide and be taken on a tour of the vineyard, winery and bottling plant to learn how English sparkling wine is made from grape to glass. After your tour, you will be welcomed onto their sun terrace for a tutored tasting of four award-winning sparkling wines. On our way back to Brighton, we will stop off at the highest point in Sussex for 360 degree views of Sussex and down to the sea.

A lovely evening trip on a steam train on a return trip from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead . This included a fish and chip supper. The operation was very slick and the food piping hot delivered to our carriage compartment. The meal was tasty and followed by dessert with tea or coffee. A very enjoyable time to reminisce as you delight in the sounds of the steam loco making its way through the scenic countryside.

For one of my husbands 60th birthday gifts, we booked on this day trip. From the start Danny was so helpful with the booking, even when we had to change the date. He picked us up with his Dad at our hotel and took us for a wonderful day out, first on the steam train where his Dad gave us such great insight into the world of steam trains/stations, then on to a lovely pub lunch, deep in the countryside in the sunshine. From the pub on to the vineyard where a lovely young lady told us all about wine making as we walked through the vineyard, we tasted some lovely sparkling wines afterwards. Back onto the bus and on our way back to the hotel Danny took us to the top of the Downs to experience the magnificent views. Truly a wonderful day out and would highly recommend. Danny and his Dad were the perfect pair of gentlemen to escort us on a special day out. Thank you.
