      Mystery adventure walking experience
Very enjoyable 3hour walk around Winchester looking for clues. If you get stuck there are hints on back cover of book. Nice way to see areas you might miss

      Best day! Great experience!
Absolutely brilliant, not only was the story of the Bullingdon Burglar funny to follow, the history of Oxford was so interesting. Halley’s Comet was particularly interesting to learn about along with the Narina door! So well researched and executed. A really clever and broad mix of skills required. Excellent!

      Winchester Mystery Guide
This is the second Mystery Guide we've done. It's a fun way to spend a couple of hours, or a couple more if you stop for drinks on the way round. We waited till the end for drinks & a lush meal at one of the pubs. You notice thing's you wouldn't normally see & you may learn a thing or two. Be great for kids too.

      Great fun and Real history
We chose the Portsmouth adventure. What an excellent idea. Beautiful booklet and very interesting snippets of real history. The clues were pitched at just the right level and provided extra information about this historic city. All in all an excellent adventure

A fantastic day out in Edinburgh
A brilliant day completing the Edinburgh Mystery Guide - The Mystery of The Midnight Body Snatcher. The difficulty level was just right - could be solved without having to linger too long, but one or two more challenging. We couldn't believe how many other parties we met on the same mission. We had chosen the best day weather wise in March, bright and sunny but not too hot for walking Edinburgh's hilly streets. Breakfast and a visit to Paddington before we started, then a lovely dinner at The Playfair in the Omni Centre made our day complete. We have now ordered the books for three more cities. Mystery Guides, please please please bring on more Scottish options.

      Great family fun
We have recently completed 3 Mystery Guides (Chester, Stratford upon Avon and Brighton. They are a wonderful way to spend a day with friends and family in a shared activity. We got to places that we never would have found without the guide and the clues and puzzles were challenging but not too much so. I have several other guides yet to complete and am really looking to doing so! Well done, a fabulous business.

      Great fun for all!
Just returned from a lovely stay in York. We went for an overnight stay and to complete our Christmas gift of the York Mystery adventure, which we thoroughly enjoyed. What an amazing fun way to get some exercise! We really really enjoyed it and the effort put in to create this is fantastic! We had such a lovely day and the fact that we visited a few pubs on the way made it all the more enjoyable! We will definitely be buying more and using these as the subject of our mini getaways.

      The secrets of Southampton
Southampton one was great. Lived near the area for years yet never been around this lovely old part of town. Really good clues that you have to out your heads together to solve. Lovely pubs en route.

Definitely recommend the Cambridge Mystery Adventure.
What a great time we have had today with family. Such a good idea, getting you out in the fresh air, self paced, well written with great facts to read. Each clue is clear, not ridiculously hard and takes you to areas you just would not probably include on an average day trip, alongside the clues to solve are small interesting historic facts teaching you about famous events/people linked to buildings.

      Fun trail around town centre
We enjoyed every minute of our trail around Winchester - such good fun . The clues were good and meant we saw so much more of Winchester than if we had just walked around !

      Great way to Discover Chester
The MysteryGuide was a great way to discover the city of Chester. The clues were clever enough to keep you invested and the route, relatively easy to follow. We saw plays of the city we hadn't seen on previous visits.

This is a great way to explore a town or city even towns and cities that might be familiar to you. We chose our home city of Nottingham and we discovered so much more about Nottingham then we previously knew.

      Leeds Mystery Adventure
Jad a great day in Leeds! We struggled on the first clue but once we understood we got going. We found the clues were perfect not to hard and not to easy and we saw some other people doing it!! Would really recommend for a great day out and you could easily turn it into a pub crawl 😀 we stopped off at @pieminister and had the most amazing pie. We've got the York and Newcastle ones to do and can't wait!!

A great way to see London, learn some history and have outdoor fun
What a great afternoon. We met many people along the way doing the same adventure which was quite amusing so it’s evidently got quite a following. It was great working out the clues. Well worth the money.

We absolutely loved this and would highly recommend! It’s such great fun and an amazing way to see the beautiful and historical sights of Portsmouth whilst learning interesting and unusual facts and essentially playing a real life version of cluedo! (All in your own time) The pubs on route are an absolute added bonus - all of the pubs on route are unique to Portsmouth and definitely worth popping into. The clues are the right level of difficulty - they get you thinking but not to tough that you lose interest. Overall I would strongly recommend this for anyone planning to spend even the day in Portsmouth, great value for money, interestingly educational, can be used as a great pub crawl or just tour of the city and it’s lovely sights.

This is the second Mystery Guide we’ve done (first was Edinburgh) and it was another fun and interesting way to explore a city. We took our time and visited various sites and pubs along the route, spending more than 5 hours wandering Old Portsmouth and learning about its fascinating history. These guides take you to hidden gems you would probably never find otherwise, which is what we really enjoy about them. The only negative feedback is that we found many of the clues too easy - the Edinburgh clues were more challenging - and some could have been solved without having to visit the location in the guide. We still thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we’re planning to do a third guide soon. Definitely recommend.

Visited Southsea/Portsmouth for the first time and this was a great way to learn about some of its history and to explore old Portsmouth!

The weather was dreadful but overall we really enjoyed it. A couple of things to note:

    1. The Wellington is now serving alcohol so you can get a brilliant lunch and an alcoholic drink with the discount.

    2. Clue 7 applies (the repainting is finished) so no need to eliminate that before you start

    3. You need to navigate new directions for Clue 2 as the Southsea Coastal Scheme prevents you from following the directions. Easy fix though.

It was a really enjoyable way to spend an afternoon, highly recommend the activity :)

Thanks Geoff for the helpful feedback. I'm really pleased that you enjoyed it! I have now included alternative directions for clue 2/3 to deal with the temporary building work. I hope you return to Portsmouth for a visit again soon!

The book is beautifully illustrated and the storyline intriguing. The clues test you out and fit together really cleverly. My daughter and I did this tour twice! First with a group of friends then with my oldest daughter when she was home from uni. We thoroughly enjoyed it both times and even found things we'd missed the second time round. We loved exploring Portsmouth and finding new areas we hadn't seen before. The only thing missing was a clue to where the nearest public toilets are!
We'd highly recommend Mystery Guides for families and friends of all ages. We're looking forward to doing the Southampton one soon!

This is a great activity to do, especially during Covid-19 restrictions. Almost all of the clues were outside and weren't too hard. We got to explore some great views of the portsmouth harbour. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, it was an easy way to learn history and explore a new city.

A colleague gifted me the Mystery Guide Portsmouth for Christmas in 2021. My partner Justin and I decided to complete it between Christmas and New Year and we’ve never had so much fun. The tour takes you around all the little gems of hidden Portsmouth. It was a windy wet day but that didn’t stop us having the best time. Several drinks and a little bite to eat on route definitely helped. Certain clues wowed me, I won’t give anything away as I wouldn’t want to spoil it for anyone but I highly recommend this for a day out, couples or kids, there is definitely something for everyone and it doesn’t have to involve copious amounts of alcohol like we consumed and enjoyed. You won’t regret buying this guide and we intend to do many more of them. As I write this review 6 months after the event, we actually completed the Winchester one yesterday which I will review separately. 5* FUN ♥️ Cheryl and Justin

We enjoyed the journey around the Old part of the city, we had one clue we had to revisit, we knew we hadn't got it quite right! But as usual the history was interesting and the puzzle gave us a focus for a city explore. For the first time ever we bumped into two other parties that were also doing this puzzle, Mondays in Portsmouth are buzzing! We spent a happy 3 hours soaking up the atmosphere while completing the challenges.

Such a great way to explore part of a city I know, but have never properly "encountered"! I did this with my project team including people from the city, outside and even overseas...and we all learned something.

I am looking forward to trying more of these and hope to see some other cities getting their own adventures as well!

this was such great fun for a family group of mixed ages (and abilities!). Plenty of interesting facts to absorb and interesting pubs to visit. Have now done three of these walks in different cities and would thoroughly recommend and you learn so much about the history and culture of an area.

My wife and I have lived in and around Portsmouth for 50+ years and thought we knew a lot of the history. This little book has opened up so much more in an area of the city that we know and love. Looking forward to doing more Mystery Guides if they are anything like this one. Brilliant job, gave us a very enjoyable few hours.
