- julierP981XO00Highly recommend this tourI had a great time and learned lots of interesting facts about Winchester, its people and pubs. Bryan, our guide, was very entertaining and kept us entertained and laughing, despite the rain. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
- Steve_and_Zoe201300Bringing history to lifeWe were treated to an amazing tour by Bryan, his knowledge of history and the myths, legends of Winchester is mind-blowing. There is so much to try and remember but punctuating the stories by such stunning locations and with good humour and some personal sentiment really helps. Brilliant value and well worth taking the time to do this, highly recommended!!
- joanner12800A very interesting and informative 2-hour guided walkAlthough a cold and somewhat wet afternoon on Monday 27th Nov '23, myself and my brother & sister-in-law really enjoyed the 2-hour walk around Winchester and felt it captured all the main sights and points of interest. Brian - our guide - was very well informed and tailored the content and information to his audience (5 of us). At the end of the walk (near the Wykeham Arms) we were lucky as we were able to have a look around the unusually quiet Xmas market next to the Cathedral. I now feel suitably motivated to consider booking the 'Secrets of Titanic' walk with Brian in Southampton in 1Q 2024, when I will next be in that City.
- K5468KVtinas00DisappointingBrian the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour said it was for 90 minutes but we only had 60 and we went round the same street twice. Found out more about Winchester on google the following day than we did on this tour.
- rachaele74000Wonderful Winchester tourHad a fab tour. Bryan had so much knowledge of Winchester and it's past. He kept the tour entertaining and enjoyable and we saw many parts of Winchester we otherwise would not have known existed. We would recommend for all ages.
- nicolak70100A great introduction to the city of WinchesterBryan is a very knowledgable and interesting guide. We learned so much about the fascinating history of this wonderful city. Would highly recommend this tour.
- Jnathan-Cheryl00Great overview of Winchester historyBryan was a brilliant and entertaining guide full of knowledge, wisdom and entertaining quips! Highly recommend
- eileencarr201800Very interesting TourWe were lucky enough to choose Bryan as our tour guide on our tour of Winchester today. His historical knowledge and his enthusiasm for Winchester made the tour so much more interesting. We did not realise how important Winchester was in English history and he made this beautiful City come alive with his knowledge. Would highly recommend this tour
- Anita S00Great tour of WinchesterWe had a private tour of the city for my mum’s birthday. It was fun and informative (despite the rain!) A great way to get an overview of the city.
- DennisDykau00Great tour in Southampton! This was an excellent, informative, and entertaining tour. The tour guide Brian kept the pace appropriate and the commentary was geared toward the participants. Very personable and knowledgeable. We definitely recommend the tour.
- northlondonmum201700Highly recommendReally interesting and thorough tour including aspects of Winchester’s history which as a local I was amazingly unfamiliar with. Friendly and engaging tour guide. Family really enjoyed it!
- F5869XFdylanp00Historical valueThe tour breaths life into Southampton, and and gave us a renewed appreciation for the historical value of the city.
- davidsD6458AQ00Belated birthday walking tour and mealReally enjoyable and interesting. Very personal service. Bryan skilfully combines facts with interesting stories and anecdotes. We would highly recommend him!
- Camper55017600Entertaining & InterestingGreat experience with a condensé of all what matters for those doing a quick stay in Winchester like us. Bryan's t-shirt was scarry too which help plundge in the atmosphere.
- Navigator9236300Fun & Educational Walk! This was our first visit to Winchester and the decision to book a walking tour with Brian (Walsh Tours) was the best decision we could have made! We had a small group (4 other duos) and learned a good bit about the history of Winchester and some of its architectural glories. Our guide was knowledgeable, fun, funny, and engaged with the group throughout the walk. Highly recommended!

What an excellent walking tour - a great combination of facts and humour that made the tour the highlight of our holiday. Through his knowledge and storytelling, Bryan made the events of April 10th 1912, come to life. The hopes, dreams and tragedies of that night were expertly told and the afternoon went by so quickly. Can't recommend highly enough!

Very informative, fascinating and thoroughly recommend this walking experience around Southampton. Our guide, Bryan arrived very promptly, despite inclement weather and was still happy to go ahead with the tour and an audience of just 2 still didn’t deter his enthusiasm. We learned lots of interesting facts and stories about the Titanic history and events of its fateful voyage.
Thank you Bryan for a fascinating insight from Sue and Simon

Great tour! Even while wearing a mask the guide spoke clearly and loudly enough for me to hear. Masks usually muffle everything for me so I was grateful to him for accommodating me. Enjoyed ourselves immensely!

Me and my better half decided to spend a day in Southampton and wanted to do something a little different, so looked around and found this tour. We both like history and walking so thought it might be interesting. I'm so glad we did, we have recommended it to anybody who is going to Southampton! Bryan is an engaging story teller who doesn't mind being interrupted (and I did ask an awful lot of questions!) The story is right in front of us all but you just don't notice all the little things - plaques on buildings, on the pavements, old pubs, hotels, buildings that were once grand and now are not, buildings that were railway stations. It was just such a treat! I learned so much and loved every minute. Two hours went in an absolutely flash and I really do recommend this tour.

I booked this tour for my wife who is very interested in the stories surrounding the Titanic. My interest is less. However I found the way Bryan told the stories, and intermixed the facts fascinating. He really knew his stuff, and told it in a way that made it really come to life, even for someone like me, that only had a passing interest in the story. Thanks Bryan.

Our guide Brian was outstanding. His in depth knowledge and wit made for a memorable experience. Although I had been researching Titanic for some time, I learned a lot of fascinating new things. The history of the Titanic is rich in Southampton, and the affect on the city was brought to life in a way that really touched home.

This tour was on a bitterly cold and wet afternoon but Bryan held our attention throughout. I brought the tour as a Christmas present for my sister and although we live near Southampton we both learnt some interesting facts and noticed plaques we had previously walked by without seeing. Bryan was friendly and interesting. He really helped the Titanic disaster be seen through the eyes of people living in 1912 as well as talking about other maritime links to Southampton such as the Mayflower and Cunard. The walking was easy and we finished at a pub where we stayed to chat with the other tour members: a nice finish to the afternoon.

Fantastic walk. Really brought the story of the Titanic and other aspects of Southampton’s history to life. Bryan was a great guide and made the tour both fun and informative. I would highly recommend as a way to really get a feel for the identity of the City and the events that have made it what it is today.

Hi I went on this tour on 12th August 2020. I was told to log on to sight to retrieve photos that tour guide took.
Hi, I’m interested in going on this tour on Tue 28th Jan, but I’ll be on my own. Trip advisor doesn’t allow me to book this excursion unless I’m booking for 2 people. I’m just wondering about the likelihood of anyone else doing this so that I can join as a solo booking? Thanks, Ben
