A lot of fun for the whle family while exploring Edinburgh
Overall a really good experience. My family and I would maybe argue with the author about some clues being a bit misleading which slowed us down (say a colour described to look for was certainly not correct, and some clues were possible to interpret in more ways, etc.) But besides that, it was fun and we got it all and solved the mystery without checking the answers (although after a much longer time than it probably should've taken). We'd love more of these mysteries for other Scottish cities - if there's more, we'd definitely go for another mystery adventure.

Great day out with Mystery Guides
After being given the Cambridge mystery guide for Christmas, we waited for the February half term to begin our adventure. We regularly visit Cambridge but what was great was discovering new places we’d never seen before. The factual information was excellent and my children loved working together to crack codes and look for clues. I would definitely recommend this to anyone as we bumped into a couple and another family doing the same thing! We completed it in one day, stopping for lunch and coffees along the way.

      Fun day out
Great day out with family -all adults. Did the Bristol mystery guide, good fun and interesting facts. Did the pub quiz at the end also. Looking forward to doing the other two mystery guides I bought. Only downside is that the pub quiz is the same for all three guides-small thing but as we will be the same people going the guides we have already done the quiz so won’t be able to do it for the other two guides purchased. Would definitely consider buying more guides

A successful search for the Stolen Golden Record
The successful search for the Stolen Golden Record was both challenging and fun. The instructions and route directions were clear. However I do have comments regarding a couple of the clues. Clue No 4 required a letter/number combination located on the sole of Ringo’s shoe. As an 83 year old participant this was a big ask, particularly in the pouring rain. I would suggest that the author of any future mystery tour takes into consideration the likely demographic of participants. I am aware that the answer could be found by scanning a QR code but that seems to me to defeat the whole purpose of the exercise. I did in fact locate the code on Ringo’s sole by obtaining a very poor quality photograph by placing my mobile phone on the ground. This required several attempts and did not endear me to the many people queuing up to take selfies with the Fab Four. Clue No 16 was to be found on one of the many small panels on Cilla Black’s statue. This took a while to locate, particularly in the continuing falling rain and again caused the queue of selfie photographers to be extended and a little agitated. In conclusion, I would again confirm that the search for the Stolen Gold Record was fun. However I am shortly taking a similar city break in Bristol and as part of those plans have already acquired not one but two trails/adventures from one of your competitors for less than the cost of one of your own.

      Review at half time!
We completed half the clues as we explored Winchester for the first time. Fantastic fun, and the route showed us places we chose to go back to the next day. So, we didn't actually complete the mystery 'this time', but we know we'll go back for a second weekend there to enjoy solving the second half! We really liked that the clues were quite challenging - they weren't a simple case of counting something, for example. You had to use your noggin!

Great way to spend a few hours in a new city
Great fun solving the mystery about Houdini as we walked around Leeds City centre. It would have been good to have a few more historical facts about the places we visited but really enjoyed it

A great fun way to explore and discover Brighton.
We had great fun doing this -it was our fourth one and didn’t disappoint. We are regular visitors to Brighton it still discovered a couple of places we had not been to before. The clues were the right balance between hard and fun. Highly recommend this one -it’s a lovely town with so much to explore-and you notice so much more around you when playing one of these games.

Southsea is more than just a seaside town.
SOUTHSEA - The Mystery of Southsea's laughing Sailor. This is the 3rd book we've done. We love them. We have 4 more at home to do! It was a good fun few hours exploring Southsea and learning some history. It shows you parts of the town/city you wouldn't otherwise see, and gives you some really interesting historical facts. I was a bit surprised this route didn't include Southsea Pier or the Naval Memorial on Southsea Common, but I guess everyone goes to those. It did show us the theatre and some excellent old English pubs!

Absolutely brilliant- Thank you. It was equally interesting for five adults and three primary school children. We live in the middle of Bath but found out new facts of which we were previously unaware !!

We enjoyed the tour and the seeing parts of the city we would not have seen if it were not for the clues and the hunting.
One thing, was the description said per adult, we bought 3 tickets at £6.99 each as I thought the 'wow' bit at the end was for 3 may have been for 3.
However we were told in the shop we could only have 2 copies of the booklet not 3 as it was one booklet per couple. Therefore it did make us question the need to buy 3 and one per group would have been sufficient.
We did enjoy the experience and would do again in another location.

August 2023 - One adult with 2 small children.
3 hours total (including a 45 minutes lunch stop).

A decent treasure hunt focus around the centre of Winchester. Clues are somewhat basic so good for the kids, but pretty easy for Adults.

The story conclusion was OK, but felt it lacked a ‘grand finale’. Would have liked to have seen some form of reward for the kids as a result of finishing, maybe from the same location as you collect the initial book?

Recommend as at £15 you can have a group taking part.

Enjoyed thinking a bit deeper than just solving the clues.
It was a very hot, busy summer day, for us it would have e been a better experience on a cooler out of season day. The clue in the Abbey Gardens was a bit off the mark, in out opinion, we were looking where the book suggested but it was in a different location, within the gardens.
We absolutely enjoyed the whole experience of solving the mystery!

My husband and I absolutely loved this treasure hunt adventure. We chose a city close to home so that we could use some of our own knowledge of the place to help us along the way as we hadn't done one of these before. We were both so impressed with the mix of historical fact and fiction that made this such an entertaining mystery to unravel. We have 2 more to do - Bath and Oxford but will definitely be looking to buy more of these books as they are a fantastic way to explore new cities if like me you are not a fan of crowds and shopping!

The Mystery Guide to Winchester was our seventh mystery guide, so as you can imagine my wife and I are confirmed fans. We love these guides as a way to show us around new towns. Neither of us had visited Winchester before, so loved the way we were guided around this excellent historic city. As I have said we have done plenty of these before, and we have always found the clues to be very accurate, however in this one I have a few criticisms of some of the clues. Please, if you are doing this guide don't read any further, I don't intend to make them spoilers, but they could be. Please tell me if I have misunderstood any clues. Clue 2 I don't know why the word suspicion was used in the clue, it is misleading. Clue 6, as you stated, it was locked, so we had to do the alternative clue, no real problem. Clue 8, either my maths is out or you have got this clue wrong (I am always ready to accept it was my mistake) Could you please recheck it. Clue 11 is on private land, the wording is obscured by the light and in the spring it will be difficult to see it through the hedge. Clue 14, which I thought was an excellent clue, however there are 2 sets of letters on the badge, although I must admit that the correct ones are where the question marks are. (I'm being very picky)
I will add some pictures, as always I will try not to show spoilers.

Booked for my partners birthday, we had been to Winchester before but we haven't seen half the beautiful places we saw yesterday! We spent about 5/6 hours but stopped in 5/6 pubs. It really was great fun and something different to do

What a fabulous way to spend an afternoon. My teenage daughter and I have just completed the Winchester Mystery Guide: The Bishop’s Golden Tankard. It was a perfect mix of enlightening us with real historical facts and a fun fictional mystery to piece it all together. The route took us through some beautiful and historic parts of Winchester and introduced us to some great old taverns too.

Highly recommended. I’ve requested the Portsmouth and Southampton guides as a gift and can’t wait to investigate these mysteries too.

First time we have done a Mystery Walking Tour and I have to say we really enjoyed it. Having been to Winchester several times before we didn’t really expect to see much that we hadn’t already seen - how wrong we were !!

Very good to see the parts of Winchester that you may miss on a general walk. Highly recommend doing the Mystery Walking Tour.

It was easy to pick up the guide from a pre arranged shop which was close to the starting point. The compete walk took about 2 - 3 hours allowing for refreshment breaks etc. It finishes at a very nice pub where you can unwind !!

This was so much fun! We've been to Winchesrer many times but the mystery route took us to places we had not been before. The bits of history were really interesting.
It was like a live version of Cluedo!
It doesn't have to be about a pub crawl, but we saw that as an added bonus!!
    Great day out!

I have visited Winchester a number of times but this mystery introduced us to places we'd not seen before, details we'd not noticed and facts we didn't know. All this in addition to the fun of solving the clues which were challenging enough to be interesting but not so difficult as to be off putting. Altogether the basis of a great day out!
