Ian was our guide. He did a great job of engaging a largish group. He was clear, spoke loudly enough for everyone, and had a good sense of humour! We were particularly pleased with how he repeated questions from participants to ensure everyone knew what was being discussed. Would highly recommend - we thought it was very good value for money.

The tour with Amanda was well paced, informative and took in all sorts of varied facts about the history of Canterbury and its buildings, including the exterior and cloisters of the cathedral. She was a very considerate guide, making sure everyone could hear, letting people know about comfort stop options, and checking everyone was happy to have a little extra time as the tour ran over time. A great way to spend the morning.

Our guide, Bob, was a gem. He brought history to life with his deep knowledge of Canterbury, it’s Cathedral, neighbouring historic buildings, and personalities from the past.
In addition to this, Bob was a very amusing and entertaining guide who we would thoroughly recommend. The tour was a highlight of our two days in Canterbury.

Yesterday my husband and I went on the guided tour with Adrian. He was very knowledgeable about the city's history and I especially loved hearing about why Pound Lane is so called, Butcher Lane (for obvious reasons of course) and the ink quills.
Adrian kindly extended the tour by an hour for us. We saw some beautiful buildings and we were also allowed inside the cathedral grounds and cloisters.
If you're visiting Canterbury I can thoroughly recommend this tour.

Thank you for your review. Canterbury has such a vast and fascinating history it can be difficult to share everything that our Guides are so passionate about; I'm pleased Adrian was able to tell you a bit more on this occasion!

Frankie was our Boxing Day tour guide. We got very lucky - it was just my wife and I and 2 or our daughters with their husbands (and 1 dog). Frankie is incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and enthusiastic (in an English way, of course) about the city and it’s history. She imparted that knowledge effectively and handled lots of questions with aplomb. After the tour it was like we were walking around an altogether different old city - we noticed new things and appreciated the architecture and other buildings more deeply. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who goes to Canterbury.

Brilliant tour with Amanda. She was informative, very knowledgeable and well able to field all questions. The tour takes in a good part of the Cathedral and its precincts as well which you would normally have to pay to enter. The tour lasts 90 mins but Amanda went overtime and we were all happy she did.

Lynsey is a very warm welcoming guide, she instantly puts you at easy. She has excellent descriptive conversation and local knowledge and that is exactly what you need from a tour guide.
She gave good advice on the locations and despite the challenges of todays weather “rain showers” she kept us engaged and tuned in.
Very happy with this tour today and highly recommend it, especially if you get Lynsey in our opinion :)

Really enjoyable guided walk. Our guide was very knowledgeable and showed us so many things we would never have noticed if we'd walked round on our own. I would certainly recommend this tour, which actually took longer than 1.1/2 hours, well worth the money

Our Canterbury tour with Shawn (unsure of the spelling of her name) was a memorable experience. Having lived in the area for 40 years, she was incredibly knowledgeable and shared insights at a perfect pace. We joined the 11:00 tour and arrived early to take a few pictures, pleasantly surprised by how few people were around on such a beautiful Saturday morning.
However, we did face some challenges during the tour. When we started at the meeting place, it was difficult for us to hear Shawn due to a person singing in the square. Throughout the tour, whenever she turned to face whatever she was talking about, we found it hard to hear her clearly. With only 12 in our group, it would have been great to have better acoustics for her engaging narratives.
Overall, despite the hearing difficulties, Shawn’s passion and knowledge shone through, making it a worthwhile experience in the beautiful city of Canterbury.

Thank you for your review; we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your tour with Sian. It can be noisy in the city centre and our guides are accustomed to this, ensuring that everybody is able to hear clearly. We are sorry that on this occassion you found some parts difficult to hear, we will take this feedback on board.

Recommended. We always do a walking guided tour when we visit a historic city and this one was pretty good. Our guide Jane was friendly and knowledgeable with a nice touch of humour. Discount for seniors too!
