      Very enjoyable
This is mainly out door locations with a couple of bits inside. The guide made it very interesting and alive. You can see how camera angles can make things look different and bigger / smaller than they look in life.

Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable but had a rather abrupt manner of calling "stop!" whenever she wanted to talk. It was lovely to see all the locations used for filming and the guide had a book with some photographs that showed the area as used in the TV show. Everywhere that we went (with the exception of the tiny room with old props) can be accessed by any visitor to the docks, so you are paying £28 for the talk given by the guide and seeing the small room of props. We did very much enjoy seeing the props used and would have liked to have seen many more of these as this was really the only part that wasn't accessible to the general public. We were advised by our guide to go into the rope shop after the tour, which we did. The shopkeeper inside was very aggressive....avoid!!
If you are booking a tour l would advise booking a morning tour so you can see the docks afterwards (this is included in your ticket price). We did the 2.30 tour and by the time we finished at 4 and looked in the rope shop, the ships and submarine were closing.
An interesting tour but l think there needs to be more on offer exclusively for people on the tour to justify the £28 ticket....(general entry to the docks is £17).

We went on a pre-booked tour for 4 ( teen to 60’s in ages). The dockyard tour was interesting and at allotted time we joined the ‘Call the Midwife’ tour with the lovely Irene as our guide. From the start, she was welcoming, friendly, extremely knowledgeable about both the yard, the film sets and the series of ‘Call the Midwife’. She was, in essence, a brilliant guide, perfect for her role. ( Irene also threw in some gems about other series/films which have been filmed at the site) A thoroughly enjoyable day, topped off with a tasty cream tea ( scone/jam/cream) at the cafe on site. Would thoroughly recommend to all fans of the series ( though my teen has watched it, she couldn’t remember much about it but enjoyed the tour none the less!). Excellent!

We booked & went on the Call the Midwife Tour Tuesday 21st Sept 2021. We found it very disappointing for the money. Not enough content & felt our time would have been better spent going around the dockyards. Would not do that tour again In Hindsight. Also the ticket for the dockyards is £22 & allows purchaser to return for free for 12 months. Yet the Call the Midwife ticket was £25 yet it only includes the one day at the Dockyards? To me that’s poor value in comparison & needs addressing as the prices don’t stack up! Also, it is open until 5pm yet while we were in the Hidden Heroines museum the guy there came & said “you have five minutes left” but it was only 4:35pm? Food was ok although quite pricey for pies. All 4 of us very disappointed with our big day out.

This tour is both a waste of time and money. A part from a small shed with a few costumes and a tiny mock up of a room there is nothing to see or give you any clue that this is the location. The tour guide points out various places that filming has taken place holding up a picture album. You are basically looking at a lot of brick walls in an old dock that has been converted to office space and residential apartments. Can you see the small holes in the wall? That’s where they fit the brackets to hold up the washing lines! Really interesting that is. The tour ends with the guide pointing to a small patch of grass and telling you that is where the graveyard scenes are filmed. Really? It’s a patch of grass. This tour is the equivalent of standing on a bridge over a motorway and charging people to tell them famous people have driven up and down this stretch of road. The only plus point was the weather. If it had been cold and wet it would of been totally miserable.

Wonderful tour! If you are a fan of Call the Midwife, we highly recommend this outstanding experience. You will see filming locations, hear how those locations were transformed, see actual props, and hear interesting tidbits about the actors and characters from the series. Really cool stuff! We had cream tea afterwards…very nice.

We had a serious problem following the tour, and Hayley and Lucy mercifully helped us. In the spirit of Call the Midwife, Hayley then went even more above and beyond as the dockyards were closing, and we would have been stranded there! She took it upon herself to check on us and make sure we were safe, and that everything was okay until the situation was resolved. We are so grateful to both of them and will always remember their special care that day.

We took the train there from London to Chatham. It took about 1 1/2 hours. We were advised to walk to the dockyards. We wouldn’t advise that unless you are not only fit, but up for a long, grueling walk. It was really quite a long way from the station—on hills. Also, you cannot get in to this through the front main gate—a cab took us from the mall and dropped us there at that gate and we ended up having to walk a steep hill against serious traffic and all the way around the whole bricked wall of the complex and back up again once inside the wall to get there. ..with knee issues. Then there is a lot of walking on the tour. Spare yourself and get a cab from train to location.

Such an excellent tour today! We've been fans of the show for so long and really enjoyed listening to our tour guide Irene bring the set to life with series/episodes reference and photos. The visit to the small CTMW museum was fascinating. We would definitely recommend this tour to CTMW fans and feel it's excellent value. The Small tour group size retained intimacy and added to the experience.
Wonderful! Feel like we need a binge watch of old episodes to relive the experience.

The tour itself was fine and it was lovely to see many areas and props used in the series.
However a message for the tour guide Irene, there was a group of 25 adults today  that have come as they are passionate about the show that have paid £35 each to have a tour by you and I was in shook by the way you talked to the elderly and the disabled today, you may do many tour's throughout the day but for nearly everyone there it's there first and only call the midwife tour.
And I was appaled by some of your comments today, I think everyone was in shock. As a 35 year old who has worked with the public since 15 and currently works with the elderly I wouldn't dare speak to the public the way you did today.
You are not a teacher of a secondary school you are a tour guide that people have paid alot of money to see. Have some respect, and to note If someone can't see something don't have a go at them and talk down on them and don't gesture like we are children to keep walking, speak to us.

I really felt for the elderly today I really did.

Although our tour guide was lovely, enthusiastic and knowledgeable the actual tour itself was hugely disappointing. It would have been far better and honest to describe this tour as a tour of the docks rather than a Call the Midwife tour. I say this because the tour consisted of our guide holding up a book and showing pictures from past sets, rather than actually viewing anything visible at the docks on the day. When a picture from said book wasn’t available, the words ‘use your imagination seemed to be required. At a cost of £25 per person I would have expected a lot more, especially as the ticket doesn't include a return trip. Where as if you book entry to the docks you can return free to visit. So essentially, this is a really expensive and unfair way to visit the docks under the pretence that you are taking part in a Call the Midwifes tour. It really isn’t worth the money, definitely worth buying the book though. Although, that said I didn’t see it for sale at the docks.

I thought that, for the money we paid, that the experience was not great at all. A walk round the relevant sections of the dockyard that were used in filming Call The Midwife, interspersed with a quick view of some historic items in a locked room is hardly good value for money.

The guide had the habit of pointing to things, yet not facing the tour group meaning that my friend, who is quite hard of hearing, could not hear what she was saying even though she was using a bluetooth microphone. She rightly called her out and asked her to face her so she could hear what she was saying, only to get quite a brusque response before marching off. I don't think that's good enough!

The dockyard is worth a visit in itself, but I'd not bother with the tour I'm afraid.

Great fun and the tour guide was brilliant! - Well recommended for avid Call The Midwife fans.

Note that it is a walking tour and lasts around 90 mins. It is mostly outdoors so be prepared if the weather is less favourable however it was lovely when we visited.

We would like to have purchased the guide book used during the tour but were told it was unavailable for sale.
