great tour. Peter Fox (not rabbit) was our driver / guide - a good knowledge of the region and good driver too. Saw all we thought we would see - fantastic views. I stayed on the bus at some stops as I don't have great mobility but it was no problem with him. Would recommend for sure

The lake view was beautiful and Tim told us everything about the stories and histories of Windermere. It's a fantastic tour and thanks Tim for his excellent job!

We had an amazing time on this 6 lakes Tour, our guide Mark was outstanding and very knowledgeable he was able to answer all our questions. We were lucky to be the only ones on the mini bus on the particular day we booked, it felt like a private tour! 10/10 we were able to sit back and enjoy the journey and amazing views in comfort, book now you won’t regret it!

We went on a tour with Trevor as our guide and it was excellent. He is a very knowledgeable person and a great driver. He has shown us all the sights, made stops to allow some time to take pictures and told us interesting facts about the area. I will definitely recommend Mountain Goat Tours to my friends.

The Dales tour was the highlight of my trip to York. Barry, our guide for the day, is an absolute gem -- he was very conscientious about every traveler and had a wealth of information to share at every stopping point. The landscape was breathtaking, there were plenty of stops for photos and plenty of gentle walking opportunities throughout the day too. The coach was clean and well-maintained and everything about the tour was easy and relaxing. Thank you for a wonderful day!

I did a day trip with Mountain Goat Tours to Whitby near York with a train ride. It was a small van and the driver & guide Ben was the best1! He has a theatre background and his commentary was extremely interesting and entertaining. Very well organized company and great value for money.

Mountain Goat - All Creatures Great & Small tour this October, 2024 was absolutely the best day ever! Our guide John was so informative. He reviewed Yorkshire history and tied it into the place names we drove through, explained the topography, the reasons there are hawthorn hedgerows in some areas and stone walls in others. We saw sites where All Creatures was filmed. John navigated the most narrow of roads carefully and stopped for photos at many breathtakingly beautiful spots. I cannot wait to go on another Mt Goat tour! I would never have seen or learned as much just driving myself. My only recommendation is that they add Harrogate as a starting point of tours. The town is always full of visitors who would appreciate the convenience of boarding the bus in Harrogate as well as the top notch service Mountain Goat provides!

Our group of six had a great day with Gordon on a custom 8 hour tour of the area around Windermere, visiting Wray Castle, Beatrix Potter's Hill Top retreat, Tarn Hows, and Hawkshead, and finishing up with an enjoyable visit to Sizergh Castle. Gordon is very knowledgeable about the history and geography of Cumbria and the life of Beatrix Potter, and he graciously answered our many questions while skillfully and patiently negotiating one-lane roads, blind turns, and steep hills in a 16-passenger minibus. We particularly enjoyed his back alleys tour of Hawkshead, where we encountered the village haunts of the young William Wordsworth without encountering any other tourists! We enjoyed a lovely Sunday roast dinner at the Queens Head pub in Hawkshead, where the food was delicious and the service efficient and cheerful. We thoroughly explored Sizergh Castle in the afternoon and got a little carried away in the gift shop. It was a lovely day spent in a lovely setting with a very pleasant and well-informed guide. Thank you!

Having spent a few days in the Lake District, we decided to have a quick look at the Yorkshire Dales. This is a beautiful area of northern England, but is quite different from the Lake District. Rolling hills, green pastures, black faced sheep and lovely villages are features of this delightful tour. Thank you to our guide and driver, Derek, and to Mountain Goat.

Great little tour. Our guide and driver, Peter Fox, was excellent. The itinerary fitted a lot into half a day. We had a chance to see a number of lakes and tarns as well as visiting Beatrix Potter related sites, including the garden the inspired Mr McGregor's Garden.

The tour was everything you could with for. Shery , our driver and tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, kind and patient. Her commentary was clear, loud enough to hear and a very very safe driver. The gentleman, Stef , who accompanied her was a true gentleman, friendly and easy to speak to. We will definitely use Mountain Goat again when visiting the area. Thank you Jesson Family
