Just brilliant ! Ian was so calm and lovely Basically we sailed the boat ! He rescued us once got really windy ! Hit 5 nots and got to a proper sailing angle on the boat ! Wonderful ! I’ve sailed many years ago . This was a wonderful activity for our girls spa weekend Cannot recommend highly enough 😃😃😃😃😃 Suitable for all ! Wonderful 🙏🙏

Have you every been sailing before? No, never, was our reply. Were we in for a treat! Ian our skipper was the gent helping both of us into our PFDs and aboard the boat. With the brief of " I would like to sit back and watch the world go by" ( Sylvia ) and " I would like to do as much as i can" ( Michael) we set off. Ian showed us how the sails were set and explained how to steer, what more do you need to know, ( well loads more but that's a different experience). Through Ian's patient guidance and encouragement, we sailed north up to Ambleside and around an island and back to where we started. The peace and tranquility of sailing has to be experienced to be believed. If you are looking for the bare bones, no frills, you and nature working together, sailing experience this is the trip for you. We both totally enjoyed our sailing experience, sylvia because it was a relaxing pleasurable trip and me because it gave me the thrill of feeling the boat come alive under my hands. We were that wrapped up in our day that we both forgot to use the camera even when we were "Buzzed " by several low level passes of Typhoons and Lightings from the Royal Air Force. Before we knew it our time was up. Many thanks to Ian for a wonderful day and an even greater insight into the world of sailing

What a lovely, different few hours spent on Lake Windermere! We received great instructions before our time slot and both of us thoroughly enjoyed learning a few sailing basics. We were lucky enough to have some good wind so it made the memory even more special. Thank you Ian for a fab few hours. Highly recommend!

Alan is a very good sailor, my son enjoys so much for a beginner sailor guide by him. The view is good but the weather is not very good for water sport that day.

We had a great time sailing.. the weather was very wet and windy but Ian was a great host. We all embraced the experience and laughed much of the trip. The kids steered and helped with the sails. Thank you :)

This was our first time on a yacht and from the start Ian made us feel safe and comfortable. His knowledge of the boat and lake were exceptional and with us at the controls he gave excellent instruction. This was a such a great experience. We’d never been sailing before but both of us are keen to learn. Ian met us on the Jetty and helped us on board. Once we got out on the Lake he gave us some directions on how to manoeuvre the tiller and how to spot wind direction and angle the sail. I was amazed at how thrilling and fast it felt even with gentle winds. I would recommend this to anyone who’s spending time in the lakes. We are looking forward to going again.

Five star experience. Total novices. Arranged this experience for the birthday boy. It was fantastic to being able to enjoy the lake in a different way through this experience. Highly recommended if you would like to try something different.

Treated my husband for his 46th birthday present to an afternoon of sailing on lake Windermere . Husband has sailed before on the river Thames 2 years ago but he was excited to do it on lake Windermere . Richard picked us up from the Langdale Chase Hotel on Ambleside Road, which had a private jetty . We were able to park in their car park free of charge.After an initial chat with Richard and fitting life vests we set off.Richard set the sails and then we sailed with my husband on the tiller. It was a very wet day but we made the most of it and enjoyed the 2hrs sailing .Richard gave instruction on how to get the best out of the wind as there wasn’t much wind on that day. Richard was very experienced , calm and had a good sense of humor .We both enjoyed this experience and would highly recommend this experience. Thank-you Richard
