This is located on the ground floor of the Cunard building (not far from the Beatles statue) and is absolutely brilliant. The layout of the museum takes you chronologically through the history of British music with lots of trivia, memorabilia and interactive displays. The audio-visual guide complemented the other information really well, although some of the clips felt a bit long compared to those at the Beatles Story (take your own headphones if you can). There is also an area where you can try various bits of musical equipment, such as drums, guitars and keyboards. We booked our tickets online for opening time (10am) and were there for over 2½ hours. The layout felt very uncrowded and social distancing was easy to maintain. It was also good to see the staff cleaning high touch areas regularly. Your ticket allows you to return again for up to a year after your first visit. Highly recommended!

If you love music you can’t miss this trip through the decades, great welcome clear explanation at reception. Layout is spectacular with great mix of memorabilia, interactive and eclectic tunes throughout. Particularly enjoy the Gibson area to play an instrument as well as your own dance studio to bust some moves. FGTH exhibition was very interesting too and glad the museum did not overdo it with Beatles as there are other spectacular artists from in and around Liverpool and UK

A great overview of British music over the past 80 years with iconic memorabilia throughout! All set out in one big room, the decades are easy to navigate and the rock stage in the middle is really cool (with a special medley of epic performances and atmospheric lights every hour). Each aisle plays a mixture of music from that specific decade and if you go near the end of the day (open until 6) you may end up alone in the museum with the ability to rock out to your favourite songs!

Saw so many epic items, including Bowie outfits, Elton glasses, Spice Girls outfits, Beatle props, a set of used Queen drums and so much more. The end includes an interactive (and cleaned) activity where you can learn to play iconic guitars or drums alongside real rock stars - so save time for that!!

One thing I will say is that while the posters have many pictures of Adele, Ed Sheeran and other newer musicians, the 21st-century section is rather small (focusing mainly on X factor and Brit awards) as its too soon to know who will go down as legendary. So don't go there just for those newer stars.

Took about 2 hours, but could easily do it in an hour or less.

Really epic experience and make sure to send lots of pictures to your jealous friends!

Lots to look at and marvel over, impressive singing Boy George hologram as you came in on a stage - some great pop artefacts like some of Bowie’s Kansai Yamamoto designed stage outfits and Suzi Quatro’s leather jumpsuit. Well organised timeline of pops history, but the whole experience was let down by the fact there was no headphones with the audio guide so we didn’t use them and I ended up with 3 round my neck dumped on me by my kids! Needs a bit of an update and flashier interactive bits. Friendly staff who clearly loved music.

We really enjoyed this. Genuinely found it interesting and the items were great. The interactive section was a lot of fun and we found the cafe quiz challenging n a good way. Mostly the experience was made by the staff who were so friendly and helpful!

I couldnt believe how quiet this place was. We more or less had it to ourselves. Great music memorabilia and music played by each exhibit. Festival style shows at regular intervals on the huge central stage and a really good area for everyone to have a go with tutorials from the famous. Singing booth closed because of covid but fully understand why. Well worth a visit and it was very well located for a good exploration of the mersey area and liver building.

I absolutely love the British Music, especially from 70s and 80s. Last time I visited London, I didn’t get to go outside London, so I was determined to go further. Liverpool was one of my top lists to visit. Decided to take an express train from London, I got to Liverpool. Joined the hop on hop off Bus for a quick Liverpool city tour and got off nearby this British Music Experience. The place was smaller than I expected, but nice and clean. They displayed the musicians’ costumes and instruments along with the brief descriptions. What I appreciated was that the displays were categorized by era. Amazing to see the changes of music.

This attraction is not just about music in Liverpool but british popular music as a whole.

The attraction takes you on a journey supported by memorabilia from the 1940's until the present day. It is fascinating to see some of the handwritten original lyrics for artists such as Oasis, Queen and Coldplay.

I especially enjoyed the Gibson Brands Interactive Studio where you can try out guitars, keyboards and drums. I managed to have a bass guitar lesson on a "Paul McCartney" violin bass.

The attraction is all about music so if you don't like music it's not for you.

If you do like music don't miss it.

Paul from the souvenir shop was very kind and helpful. He helped my boyfriend and I out with recommendations of places to go and gave us a map. The type of person you would be proud to have as an employee. Service from everyone else was great and we really enjoyed what was on offer
