- Q2962LMdenisew0 contributionsGreat fun for all agesGreat fun. Went with five adults, one teenager and one child. Although we have lived in Liverpool all our lives we saw some areas we really didn’t know that well. We had great fun, learned quite a bit about our city and managed to solve all of the clues (eventually). Great fun would definitely recommendWritten 8 August 2021
- thisislucyann0 contributionsA lovely fun day out!!Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, we had lots of fun answering the questions, had a good old walk and learned some new things about a city we were fairly familiar with anyway. A must see is the Sunken Gardens at St James, a wonderful and thought provoking place!!Written 5 June 2021
- bucket620 contributionsGreat day outReally great way to see the main sites in Liverpool in a fun way. Good directions and clues making it suitable for all ages. Stopped for a drink and sandwich and explored the 2 cathedrals (optional) so it lasted four hours. Wear comfortable shoesWritten 27 May 2021
- laurensC4913OB0 contributionsFab self tourSuch a good way to see the city, would definitely sign up to a different one to do another time! Just wish I'd given myself more time to do it!Written 22 May 2021
- sueaZ5318JA0 contributionsGreat affordable day outYou'll definitely need a pair of comfortable shoes for this one. We're a home educating family and this is a brilliant way to learn about this beautiful city and it's hiden historical treasures . Great value for money and free for kids under 15 if you stop along the way for drinks and lunch you can make a day of it.Written 22 April 2021
- Vicky87180 contributionsGreat, socially distanced fun! When I was looking for things to do that were outdoors, I didn't want to do something in a big group where we’d potentially mix with lots of people. You can do this in your own *bubble* of choice, taking as much or as little time as you wish, and stopping wherever you choose to do so! I was worried the clues might be vague and we’d potentially get lost, but we were absolutely fine and had a ball whilst learning so much more about the cities history. Highly recommend!Written 24 December 2020
- 472deannak0 contributionsBrilliant treasure hunthad a great afternoon with my son , we had a fun time finding the clues and following the map. we explored places that we wouldn't usually visit. really recommend this activityWritten 1 December 2020
- Jayne0230 contributionsBrilliantHad a brilliant afternoon doing this as a family a couple of weeks ago. Have lived in Liverpool all our lives but saw places we’d never seen and learnt a few things along the way. Did it with our two kids aged seven and four. They thoroughly enjoyed and the clues were just right for them to have a go at with a bit of help. Would recommend for all ages and groups. Also brilliant that we were able to complete during lockdown, fulfil all social distancing restrictions, etc.Written 20 November 2020
- Davros640 contributionsGreat way to exploreExcellent way to get around some of the main areas of the city. Just the right amount of challenge to keep it fun. Clues and hints on your phone worked faultlessly. Can pause at any point and restart when ready. If you get stuck you can ask for a hint (still gutted we had to ask for one. Not that I’m competitive!!). Highly recommendedWritten 27 September 2020
- Daniel S0 contributionsFantastic funWe thoroughly enjoyed the treasure hunt. Great value for money. You definitely see parts of the city that you wouldn't necessarily see. A slight improvement could be info about the different places you visit on your way. Google can help you there, but it would be nicer if it appeared within the game. We experienced a technical issue but it was fixed by Ian straight away for us. Highly recommended.Written 26 August 2020
- jontyf1930 contributionsTwo Cathedrals Treasure HuntDid this with our children the other week and it was absolutely brilliant. We had loads of fun and enjoyed seeing some new and interesting sights and places that we’d never seen before.Written 3 August 2020
- DaveG2570 contributionsWell worth the effortWe did the 2 cathedrals Hunt , it is a really good experience , it takes you out of the hustle and bustle of the main centre , there are loads of places to stop and have a drink or something to eat on the way round . This is a fun way to get around the unknown parts of Liverpool .Written 17 July 2020
- 583phild0 contributionsInteresting and fun tourReally great walking tour - took us to parts of the city we'd never really been to before, or never noticed! It took us just under two hours, with a few stop offs, so good value for money. Highly recommended, we'll be doing the other tour next time we're in Liverpool.Written 16 July 2020
- N1992RUlisah0 contributionsBest day outMy friend bought this as a stocking filler so we both didn't know what to expect. We have lived in Liverpool all our lives and have often walked past some of the places on our treasure hunt without taking any notice. This treasure hunt is an amazing experience and I'd highly recommend it. We followed the clues and even got ourselves lost at one point. How can you get lost in your own city?? This is a great way to see any city. There's no rush and you can take it at your own pace if doing it with children. The will keep them entertained during school holidays. We throughly enjoyed the day and can't wait to try it in other cities. This is a gift that will suit all ages.Written 26 February 2020

Me and my partner were bought tickets for Christmas and had an awesome time. I’ve been in Liverpool 13 years and the mrs grew up over the water, but we still loved it which proves it’s not just for tourists. We found it a much more active experience than a regular tour as you had to read the stories and solve the clues; much more engaging than just listening to a tour guide drone on. Highly recommend it to absolutely anyone, though put on your walking shoes as it will give you a good workout.

Firstly I’d like to thank the owners of this business for their excellent customer relations and fast response to any queries I had. We thoroughly enjoyed our day walking around the city and solving the clues as we went. The clues were challenging enough to keep us all involved, but not so difficult we felt out of our depth. We were directed to parts of the city we wouldn’t normally notice on a day to day basis. We took our time and stopped for lunch on our route. Yes you do walk through some of the busier parts of town (with Covid in mind), but use your common sense. Put on your masks, don’t stick around in those areas and move on to the next clue. Thanks for a different day!

We were looking for a few hours in Liverpool that would be flexible and entertaining, and we weren't disappointed! We had a great time wandering around a city we thought we knew, but following the clues on the phone made us really look and discover lots of new stuff! We liked that we could explore around any time, stop for coffee, stop for lunch, then carry on, and the clues made us think. In these covid times, you only have to be near to the people you're with.Above all it was good fun! Quite a bit of walking but that's good too. Highly recommended.

What an amazing way to explore the fabulous and interesting city of Liverpool. Loved doing this Treasure Hunt. The messaging system worked like a dream. We did this on our Day 1 of a 4 day visit which was an excellent way to get to know the city, and find out what's where (including stories and facts about the lesser known bits!). Thank you Ian and co at Treasure Hunt Liverpool! Even our 7-yr old enjoyed it.

This was the best thing we did on our three day trip to Liverpool. We spent nearly the whole day walking and looking for the answers to the clues which meant we enjoyed all the main sight seeing locations in the city and the lesser know sight seeing places too. The clues were not so hard that it became boring- pitched at the perfect level for a family of four 2 Adults 2 childre 10 and 16. The guy who does it was so helpful and couldn't do enough to enhance the experience for us. Although we didn't complete the hunt on the day we paid for, he allowed us to finish it the next day. The only reason we didn't complete it on day 1 was because we took so long looking at the sights of the city- a testament to how well plotted the route is as it really does take you everywhere! Spending the time wandering with direction round the city was perfect and stop off breaks for toilets and food etc are written into the hunt for you. When our legs got tired we stopped for a break then carried on. The hunt allows you to set the pace for yourself. We saw things that we wouldn't have found because of this treasure hunt- well worth the money for sure! The most perfect way to enjoy our first visit to the city! Thankyou so much it really was fantastic in every way and I couldn't recommend it highly enough!

Sorry to say that we were somewhat disappointed. For £20 we felt the information given was not value for money. There wasn't a lot of information given about Liverpool or the history. Maybe or expectations were too high but we both felt rather deflated by it. The modern cathedral was superb and the gathering of suitcase sculpture was interesting, but other than that we could have seen the rest by simply wandering around. My friend thought an audio accompaniment would have enhanced it. Sorry to be negative, but we were underwhelmed 😐

Ahoy Helen - I'm really sorry to hear that our treasure hunt didn't quite hit the mark for you. 😞
I've refunded your £20 because we promise fun, and if we didn't deliver, that's on us.
I've taken your suggestion about more historical tidbits on board, and we're on the case, brewing up some fascinating facts to share along the way. As for the audio accompaniment idea, it's a nice idea, but with Liverpool's lively vibe, we'd need to figure out the perfect way to make it work...
I appreciate your honesty; it helps us make things better for everyone. We're determined to make sure your next adventure goes from "underwhelming" to "overjoyed"!

From the start excellent customer service, had to rearrange the day due to other cancellations, had no problem when it came to getting through either by email or phone, very polite and nothing was too much!! The treasure hunt itself was great and gave us a way to see more of the city, then we probably would have otherwise. Also very interesting and interactive. Perfect way to see the city without having to spend a lot of money!!

My wife stumbled upon this ahead of our return visit to Liverpool & having done the bus and ferry previously it felt like a fun way to experience & visit some of the areas of the city we might not have seen fully before.
This was a fun & entertaining way to explore what Liverpool has to offer and there are so many great little (and bigger) food/drink places to stop and recharge during the route.
We spread it out across about 5 hours in one day but the website says you can do it over a shorter or longer period (even different days) so it really is at your convenience.
Main advice would be pack suncream, walk-friendly footwear and be prepared for a few hills or slight inclines particularly early into it. That said, it got our steps up and worked off some of the excesses we had indulged in this weekend :-D
Highly recommended. Well done to the creators.

It's lovely to hear that you and your wife had a lot of fun exploring Liverpool in a bit of a different way, this time! You're not the first to mention the step count, it's a bit of a suprise by the end, isn't it?
Fancy another go? We're in more cities!
I really appreciate you writing a review, it's so important for small independent businesses like us.

We had stopped in Liverpool on our cruise and decided to try this to guide our walking. It was great fun following the maps and solving the clues. We got a score at the end for how well we had done, 5 points per clue solved and 1 point detracted for incorrect guesses and hints taken (we surmised) so it gave us a good sense of achievement! The only thing I would say to improve it would be to offer variable start points as it's a relatively circular route. We walked up from the cruise port for half an hour or so to get to the start point and got to the general area of the cruise port about half way through and then went back up to near the start point!
