Thames River Sightseeing Cruise with Afternoon Tea
From US$41.86
Make the most of your time in London by combining tradition with sightseeing on this afternoon-tea cruise. See the capital's iconic sights—the Tower of London, Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, and more—while indulging in the British tradition of afternoon tea. Take advantage of picture-perfect views from the water while savoring scones, sandwiches, cakes, and, of course, tea. If you fancy something stronger, visit the onboard bar.
What to Expect
Make your way to Tower Pier to board your cruise. Settle into the cozy, indoor salon and get ready for the quintessential London experience.

Heading west, you'll first pass the infamous Tower of London, known for its dark history. Then, for a contrast, view the sparkling contemporary architecture of the glass Shard building. Continue to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and the enormous ferris wheel, the London Eye. Enjoy people-watching along the South Bank, a favorite hangout for locals, tourists, skaters, and entertainers. Your cruise loops around at Westminster where you get excellent views of the Gothic-style Houses of Parliament and iconic Big Ben before heading back.

Along the way, indulge in British teatime favorites, including scones spread with jam and cream, dainty finger sandwiches, cakes, tea, and coffee. You can even toast the evening with a glass of Champagne from the bar (own expense).

The tour concludes back at Tower Pier.

Our daughter very much wanted to experience tea time while visiting London but my husaband and oldest daughter would have been terribly bored in a hotel type setting. The river cruise afternoon tea was an acceptable compromise for all of us. The tea was okay...More

Attention to detail missing

The afternoon tea part of this was ok, but bog-standard. The river cruise was Westminster Bridge to Canary Wharf. Better if they had gone a little further to go alongside the Houses of Parliament. There was a descriptive recorded explanation of the sights that belonged...More

We booked as a family of 8 for afternoon tea for a family birthday. The boat left on time and whilst on board we had a huge selection of sandwiches, loads of little cakes and sweets, scones with jam and clotted cream and unlimited tea...More

Great fun, even though I'm a Londoner

My wife and I were lucky enough to have been given as a Christmas present a lunchtime cruise and meal experience. We did take a long time to get round to doing it but it was worth the wait. The food was surprisingly good, and...More

They did an excellent special vegan meal for me so I am sure gluten free would be fine.

I don't remember seeing any children on the cruise but that's not to say they can't go. I would double check with City Cruises directly on +44 20 7740 0400.
