I am just finishing this wonderful tour with guide Sheila and driver Rob. What a great tour! Sheila is articulate, friendly, extremely knowledgeable and a great tour guide. She kept the group informed about where we were going, what we would see, the history and background, how long it would take to get there and how much time we would be there. She kept herd on the group and ensured that no one was left behind and that everyone could clearly hear what she was saying.
Rob was an expert and highly professional driver, deftly managing his way through the busy London morning and afternoon rush hour traffic.
The tour exceeded my expectations. I didn’t really know anything about Leeds Castle prior to this excursion but walked away very happy that it had been included on the itinerary. Very well maintained, kept up and with lots of historical background for us tourists.
Canterbury Cathedral and the town of Canterbury were excellent. I had recently watched the 1964 film “Beckett” starring Richard Burton and Peter O’Toole so I was familiar with the history behind Thomas Beckett’s assassination at the hands of the king’s men in the cathedral. But there was so much more history to be leaned on this tour.
White Cliffs of Dover. To be perfectly honest this was the primary reason I booked this tour. I’m glad I went and got to see what I was able to see but I’m also very glad that I had read many other reviews and learned that you’re really not going to get the White Cliff experience you see in the movies or television. You can’t really walk the cliffs on this tour. And the magnificent White Cliff views can really only be seen aboard a vessel from the English Channel. This is not the tour operators fault, it’s just a fact. I’m glad I had read the reviews and I knew exactly what to expect and I was not disappointed.
Overall, this was an excellent tour with an excellent tour guide (Sheila) and excellent driver (Rob). Thank you both and thank you Evan Evans Tours for this magnificent day exploring English history and the beautiful English countryside.

We got lucky with this trip and our tour guide Leslie and driver Joe. Leslie was the best tour guide we’ve ever had! Truly. She is very experienced and freely shares her knowledge not only of the places we went but also of London as we were driving out of the city. Leeds Castle was exquisite. And the grounds were so beautiful. I highly recommend. Dover was a quick stop but beautiful as well to see the sea and White Cliffs. Canterbury cathedral was awesome and not to be missed!! We spent most of our time there because there is so much to see! The stained glass windows are stunning. The cathedral goes on and on. Lots of steps if you want to see it all. Beautiful!! Highly recommend this tour. And Leslie!!

Shelia is QUEEN! She’s very knowledgeable and runs a tight ship.
For the tour itself, the itinerary says that masks were required. I was hoping that once the bus pulled out that there would be an announcement to mask. There never was and we were sitting in the back with several people coughing up a lung. We wore ours.

Absolutely delightful tour. Well organized, right from the get-go with the initial coach station, we were very pleased. Both the driver (Rowen) and tour guide (Godfrey) were extremely professional. The driver was extremely smooth, which is very important as my wife is prone to car sickness. Godfrey was a wealth of information. He provided answers to all questions from several of the two members, and was exceptionally concise and informative. Beyond that, he was full of stories and antecdotes, including a nice dose of humor.
Today's tour went very smoothly, and we were quite satisfied with the content and time spent at each location.
I would recommend both the driver and the tour guide for any and all accolades and recognition that are available from Evan Evans.
Highly recommended.

I went alone on this coach trip to see Leeds Castle, Canterbury Cathedral and cliffs of Dover. The coach was new but at 6foot 3 I couldn’t fit my legs into the coach seat. Lucky I had two seats to myself so sat sideways.
Our guides knowledge and humor was excellent and she stayed with us, except when we toured the castle, but you got given a free guide book to read as you move throughout it. You get 1.5 hrs to tour the castle and grounds so the guide book was enough. I would have liked another hour but you can’t fit it into the day. We moved on to the Canterbury Cathedral and got a top notch guided history tour in an impressive cathedral. We then had 45 mins for a lunch in the town at your leisure. We moved on to the Cliffs of Dover. The poor view of the cliffs are not the guides fault but they shouldn’t bother to go there. They probably want to make the tour look bulkier but it’s a waste of 45 mins. We were then driven the 2 hrs back to London.
Overall it was a relaxing, interesting and professionally conducted day. Obviously if they have to drive 5 hours in total to get to places then you only have so much time to do so many, so don’t expect masses of time at each place.

Dear Martin,
Thank you for leaving us feedback, all feedback are important to us. While we do agree that we would like to give more time to our guests at each location, it is difficult due to the driving hour legislation, however we do have other tours that cover only two venues in a day which allow more time to explore, please visit our website for more information.

this was a Day One tour, leaving from the coach station in Westminster and returning to Victoria station at about 7 PM. The guide was very knowledgeable not only about the attractions themselves but throughout the entire trip, literally from the time we were pulling out of the coach station, and she explained the necessity of being precisely on time. As we drove through London, she told us many things about the prior terrible smog problems in London, the vast improvement should've been made, pointed out the housing of all kinds, commented on the neighborhoods as we went through. We even had a number of lectures from her about the national health, service, average, wages, and taxes,. Very interesting and appropriate.
At Leedscastle she was not permitted to guide us in the building and told us so in advance, but because of the preferred access of this tour company, we were driven literally to the front door of the castle saving substantial time, probably 20 minutes each way walking to and from the car park. It is an interesting castle restored in the 1920s by an American heiress. The grounds are beautiful but not overwhelming.
We next went to Dover. While she was very helpful with information about Dover and I am well acquainted with the importance of Dover and Dunkirk I think if anything could've been spared, perhaps that was it because the time was somewhat short for both Canterbury Leeds, and especially for Canterbury cathedral. It was there that she really shined. She was able to give us a guided tour, and with the assistance of individual hearing devices, all of us were able to hear her as we walked through Canterbury and into the cathedral. It was spectacular and stunning in every way, and while the tour was, moving right along at all times it did not seem rushed. It is a truly historic, majestic and spiritual place.
The driver. Ben, was a wizard behind the wheel getting into places with that bus that I think I would've had a hard time driving into with my car.
This was a fairly long day, but well worth it in every respect.

The three stops were great. What made the tour best was our guide Sheila. She was incredibly knowledgeable and brought each place to life with colorful stories. She was funny, and relatable. She also went above and beyond - for example going to each person on the bus and customizing the drop-off location based on their post tour plans. Sheila was amazing!

I must begin by saying that the original tour was reserved for Stonehenge, Windsor and Bath, but we got lost before we reached the meeting point and the tour left without us (My teenage son and I)
This is where Sophie saved the day
With a lot of kindness and with a warm exception he explained us what our options were not to lose our money.
With nothing available for Stonehenge we chose Leeds, Dover and Canterbury.
Sophie worked her magic and got us seats on this tour.
And here comes the other part of the magic.
Cameron and Sam (Sameron or Cam) whatever you prefer to call this duo.
A real treat all the way. Cameron entertaining every historical and/or curious detail, answering our doubts and supporting the group, including with fabulous recommendations to do in London and Sam driving with a 10/10 skill making us feel comfortable and safe
The tour itself is already amazing, but adding the participation of these three wonderful people, I come to the following conclusion:
Being late for the departure of the original tour was the best thing that could have happened to us.

We took the trip on 31st August '23. It was very well organised. The departure point at Victoria Coach Station was easily accessible and we were all checked in well before the scheduled 9AM departure. The trip was well spaced out, not at all rushed and we had ample time at each location, including time for coffee, lunch and toilet breaks. Special shout out for Shiela, the tour guide, who gave us excellent insights for each of the places visited in an extremely cogent manner without being pedantic. And of course, William, who chauffeured us without a hitch. Will take Evan Evans definitely in the future.

Cliffs of Dover should be made optional when the weather is bad. Can't do nothing if the wind is blowing at 60 miles per hour. Also it'd be great if the guide can use the mic during commute. It'd be a lot easier to tune out when she start preaching "conservative" values.
