I recommend this as a convenient way to get to Windsor Castle. Practically speaking, the real benefit of this ticket is that you don't have drive and park, or take some combination of buses and trains and transfers which you'd have to manage yourself or hope Google Maps continuously points you in the right direction.

You get a bit more than two hours to tour the Castle, which is just about right assuming you keep moving. Arguably, we visited in low season, but in 2 hours we got through the chapel, doll house, and state rooms with a bit of time to watch the guards. We didn't stop for lunch of coffee either. In a more crowded touristy season with long lines you probably wouldn't get through everything. Spending time at the mall or eating lunch would cut into the 2+ hours of you have to tour the castle.

Don't forget to grab the audio tour and headsets (or use your own headsets). It's included with your ticket.

Bring a camera, but be aware that pictures inside the chapel and state rooms are not permitted.

The state rooms are the highlight of the castle and, in my opinion, what makes this castle more special than others. If you don't have times to tour the state rooms, spend the extra time at the chapel.

My only recommended area for improvement; I would have gladly taken a bus that left a few hours earlier (if that was an option); then spent the extra time at the mall, grabbed a biscuit, coffee, tea and gotten in line for the castle sooner. I do appreciate leaving when we did to return to Earl's Court so we could keep our evening plans.

Overall, I recommend the bus trip. You could probably get there for cheaper, but it would take you longer and be more of a hassle. If your time is limited while visiting London (isn't it always?) consider this as a great option.

Anderson travel group made everything extremely stress free and delightful. My husband and I were running late so when i called Kirsten she immediately went in to solution mode and told us how to get to Windsor castle. I was expecting her to say sorry you missed it no refunds or exchanges, but she was very understanding and helpful. She contacted the tour guide who left the tickets at the door for us and we had no trouble entering.

Once we arrived the views are breath taking. If you have never seen a castle before this is the perfect one to see. There are no cameras and photography allowed once inside the castle which at first I was bummed out but then just being to enjoy it with out documenting made the trip go by in a breeze. We were able to tour the castle in under 3 hours.

And of course knowing us we could not find the bus to ride back. Kirsten to the rescue, we contacted her again and she stayed on the phone the entire time guiding us back to the bus. Antonio's the driver was also super sweet and waited for us.

This tour was memorable even without photos to prove it. I can only speak for my experience and I have no complaints.

Highly recommended! And I'm not getting paid to advertise.

Dear Brittany Thank you for your review of the Windsor half day tour and we are pleased to hear you had good time and got to see the castle, despite the rush in the morning. We understand that trains can be delayed and rush hour traffic in London can be unforgiving so try and help customers find alternative routes if possible. We also know that there is bad signal in Windsor (great big castle in the way) so not all phone data plans will work and are happy to guide people back to the coach parking area. Thanks again for your kind words which we have passed on to Antonio. Kirsten Anderson Tours

The trip went extremely smoothly and exceeded expectations. We were concerned that the half-day trip might not be enough time, but we had plenty of time to explore Windsor castle (including both the chapel and state rooms) at a leisurely pace and also check out a couple gift shops in town, even with having to wait a bit for entry to the castle. We just didn’t have time for lunch. The driver was very friendly and helpful.

The bus driver and tour guide were both great. We enjoyed the commentary on the bus and Windsor is a really neat place. The castle itself is very beautiful and has a lot of heritage.

The tour guide did a great job of making sure everybody knew the timeline, where to meet etc.

Visiting three weeks after Harry and Meghan tied the knot, we expected Windsor Castle to be a zoo...which is partly the reason we booked a guided trip, as we were hoping the outing would be easier to navigate.

Pick-up was relatively easy. The bus was clean, the guide was nice. Like others mentioned, the ride to Windsor Castle is just that - a ride. There is no narration or storytelling from the tour guide.

Upon arriving at Windsor, we were quickly shuffled toward the castle, where we ran into a giant queue that circled down the sidewalk and around the castle. For a brief moment, I felt quite satisfied with myself for booking a "guided tour", as it would certainly pay off now with expedited access to the castle...right?

Nope. My feeling of superiority was quickly deflated as we headed way, way back to the end of the line. While this tour includes entry, it does not get you to the front (or middle or anywhere but the end) of the line.

We waited in line for 45-60 minutes to enter the castle, and were given 90 minutes to explore. The actual castle was fantastic. We loved walking around St. George's Chapel - so much, that we spent half our time there! Unfortunately, we didn't see Queen Mary's Dolls' House, as the line was quite long - and to be honest, we were sick of waiting in lines.

When it was time to leave, we quickly stopped by small shop to grab a sandwich to go, which we ate enroute to the bus. The town of Windsor is lovely. I could've spent the whole day walking up and down the streets, but unfortunately didn't have the time.

It's a fine tour if you're looking for a quick stop at Windsor (which we were). If you want to explore the town (or spend a relaxing amount of time viewing Queen Mary's Dolls' House, St. George's Chapel and/or the State Apartments), you should probably find alternative transportation.

Dear Kristen Thank you for your review of our Windsor half day tour. We are sorry to hear your were frustrated with the queuing times at Windsor castle, due to the Royal Wedding it did get a lot busier than usual. There are two lines to get into the castle; one for groups and one for individuals and all tour groups are directed to the groups line. This is usually quicker than the other one but can still get very busy unfortunately. However we glad to hear your enjoyed the castle it's self and the very beautiful St George's Chapel. We hope you can travel with us again sometime. Kind Regards Anderson Tours

The bus was a little late and they had to bring an extra due to popularity, but otherwise the ride was good. Tour guide provided interesting information.

A few warnings:
- there isn’t much food available once you enter Windsor, just ice cream and chocolates in the gift shops and this tour doesn’t give you a lot of time to sit and eat a full lunch, so you will probably end up getting “to go” cold food from the shops near the bus park (they don’t allow hot food on the bus so it won’t smell), also no ice cream on the bus so it won’t drip
- there is a bit of a trek from the bus to the castle entrance and you need to walk kinda fast to maximize your time inside, so if you have to walk slowly this may be a concern (they get you in as a group, so u have to keep up, you can’t get a ticket and walk slowly)
- the most poplar thing is the tour of the state rooms/doll house- there is a line within for this so go see this right away, that way you have the most time to enjoy the state rooms
- the doll house is currently closed, so if you really want to see that you may be out of luck
- if you really want to take your time and even have time to explore the village/city of Windsor and have a full lunch, this may be a little too short/hurried for you

Dear Faye Thank you for your review of our Windsor half day tour. There is some good advice in this review for fellow travelers and we appreciate you sharing, especially regarding the walk to the castle that there is not a cafe insider the grounds. We hope that you enjoyed your time at Windsor and got to enjoy the State Apartments and St Georges Chappel. Kind Regards Anderson Tours

We joined this tour at Victoria very easy to find meeting point. Tour was picked up on time. Tour guide sandra was very knowledgeable & filled us in on the history of the castle. We were the only English visitors on the coach but it refreshed our history knowledge as well. She took us right up to the castle & sorted our entry so we beat the queues. On the whole a very enjoyable trip & nice not to have to drive it ourselves. On

Note: This is not a tour, only a bus ride and castle access. However our tour had more attendees than seats on the bus, so the tour manager had to call for a second bus. Initially no one was there. Not sure how the company did not know they had more people pay than they had seats on the bus. But the bus was nice and we expedited through the entry process. For the price it was a decent value

Dear Prayzur Thank you for your review of our Windsor half day tour. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the ride down to Windsor and your time in the castle. Since the wedding of Meghan and Harry, Windsor has become very popular with many people wanting to visit. I can assure you we always know how many passengers are booked on and schedule the appropriate size and number of coaches. The tour manager did not call for another coach, that was in fact a coach 2 for this tour because of it's popularity. It will have been waiting behind for 5 minutes at the previous pick up for late passenger. Kind Regards Anderson Tours

Anderson Tours got us safely to and from Windsor Castle but the tour guide offered no information at all about the castle on our ride there. I’ve taken several tours with other companies and the guides always have interesting stories and tid bits to scare. We got none of this on this tour.
