- Hope G0 contributionsJoe & Kamal - Brilliant ExperienceMe and my partner of a year came for Valentine’s day to London, he hasn’t been to London since he was 7 and I have come at least 3 times a year for the past 5 years. He was so excited for the trip and he said that this tour was the highlight of his day. Our guide Joe was fantastic - funny, informative and just a great character! Kamal the driver was also great and kept involved. I’ve done several night tours but this was definitely my favourite! Thank you bothWritten 14 February 2025

- Trek8028940 contributionsUnfortunately not worth the moneyI booked this as a surprise treat for my daughters and mother on our recent trip to London. Staff were very friendly yet the food was poor quality and a Tesco meal deal would have been better. Sandwiches barely filled and selection of deserts easily bought in any supermarket. There was no real tour as such, just a drive around London and a quick announcement of some sights. At almost £180 for the trip, a Tesco meal deal and hop on/ hop off tour would have been more luxurious and cheaper. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this and a must do experience when in LondonWritten 13 February 2025

A great tour, well timed on the side of the organizers - Very much recommend the bath museum, but have at least an hour or so to stroll around before coming back to the meeting point. Stonehedge is very chill, but we chose to skip the visitor center to have a greater time under the sun and the stone formation .
Amusing commentary, as well as informative, across the entire trip delivered by James, with the trusting help from Kirren on the wheel. Really had a good time - highly recommend their company 🙂

Great, great tour! The first stop was in bath and left a little to be desired, but mostly because it was too short of a stop to see it all. We chose to visit the Roman Bath House (not included in the bus tour price). We had to rush through and felt like we missed a lot. Would recommend against that tour, and just explore the town. The tour included lunch at Browns Restaurant; we and many people weren't impressed - they seemed to struggle with a bus-sized group. The food was good, but service lacked, so we gave up on waiting for dessert and went to get ice cream in town (which was fantastic). Then we headed to Stonehenge, and toured inside the circle. Absolutely amazing! The access was great and the Stonehenge staff (Chris and Nick) were so informative and knowledgeable that we could have walked and chatted for hours and hours.
All along the way, our tour guide Tom was great. He provided a lot of facts, trivia and humor that really made the trip much better.
We highly recommend Golden Tours, the Stonehenge/Bath trip in particular.

The tour was amazing, exceeding my already high expectations. Our captain, Jim, got us there safely and quickly, and even had ponchos ready to hand out when it started misting as we got to Stonehenge. Pablo, our guide, was incredibly funny, knowledgeable, and caring. He took the time to speak with each group on the tour to make sure they knew the itinerary, how to get back to their hotel/flat from the drop point, and offered restaurant recommendations both in London and Bath. A complete ten out of ten experience!

This was a tour like no other I've ever taken, insofar as it was essentially a mockumentary version of a real tour. Our guide Dolly seemed to delight in making up just about everything she said. There was "King Charles announced that starting May 2024 the national museums will no longer be free to visit and will charge 30-40 GBP admission, so the people are a little mad at him". She prefaced that she "checked the updated numbers from the recent census" before declaring the UK population to be 79 million (it's 67 million). There was "everyone in the UK gets free vitamin D injections 4 times a year", the story of how the ancient tree in Bath was "scientifically found to be exactly 506 years old" (it's 230). There were the 450 horses Queen Elizabeth II left to Charles, who gave 150 to his sister Anne and sold the rest. (In reality there were 100 horses. no word how many went to Anne.)
Then there were the stories of her time with Queen Elizabeth II, for whom she ostensibly served as an interpreter for 11 years. What fun times she had exchanging dirty jokes with Gorbachev.
I wrote the tour operator about my experience but didn't get a satisfactory response, nor an offer of a refund. I feel strongly that if someone has a need to lie incessantly in front of an audience, that person should be the one paying and not the other way around.

Our day-trip guided bus to Stonehenge and Bath got cancelled with only a spam email as notice. We got accommodated on a non-guided bus to Stonehenge where we had to wait at the visitor center for four hours without seeing the stones. We did not know what our next bus was going to be, which was a guided tour to Bath that had first been to Windsor. Finally, after feeling like we had been left behind we found our tour guide and we were able to go see the stones. From there we had a guided tour to Bath but only for one hour which is not what we signed up for when we chose only the Stonehenge and Bath tour. We also missed out on the guided part of Stonehenge which we wanted. Although we were grateful for the accommodation we were told we would get at least a partial refund for our inconvenience which we were denied after we talked to customer service. Do not trust this company. Although Sergio the tour guide is excellent.

Okay tour with limited information sharing along the way. Screens were off in half of journey until requested to turn back again. Air conditioning/ heating was off during first half of trip.
Derek (driver) has been wonderful with minimal jerks and abrupt stops, Great driving skills.
Oliver(Guide) can be more humble, welcoming and informative(much required in this line of business).

This tour is really worth it. The bus was 100% on time leaving London and arriving to both destinations. Our guide Ruth was absolutely wonderful, giving all info pertaining to the visiting sights in advance on the bus, so we didn't have to waste any time when we arrived to destination. She gave us all kind of info we needed it to enjoy our visits, therefore we didn't have any questions when on site, we just focused on enjoying everything we saw. Our driver Gill gave us a really smooth ride, he was always ready, always on time. I highly recommend this tour.

My teenage daughter and I recently took the Stonehenge and Bath tour with guide Ivan and driver Ashley. We loved both of them! Ivan had plenty of interesting stories and was very engaging. On our way back we encountered some unexpected traffic and he entertained us and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was satisfied. We had a personal conversation with him on the bus and he gave us helpful tips for our upcoming trip to Oxford and Athens, Greece! We also had a delightful conversation with the driver Ashley; he drove very safely and even gave us all ponchos because of the rain! We wish every day could be a day with Ivan and Ashley in our lives. Seriously, they are the best!

The guide Trish, and driver Kee were very good. Informative, funny, clear. Big problem: the directions for getting there need to be clearer, especially since mapping programs don’t work well in that part of town. Include a simple map and tell folks to look for a bus queue inside a building! Lots of harried frantic travelers running around in the morning, including us.
Trip was 8:30-7:00 pm. It was two hours drive to Stonehenge, one hour to Bath, and close to three hours to return. Not enough time for me at either destination and lots of driving. Had I known I would have just booked Stonehenge. If you just want a cursory review of each place, this tour is for you.

This was a well-run day tour to Bath & Stonehenge by Pablo and Jim, who were both very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. You get to explore Bath for 3 hours, which I found was (just about) enough time to go to one museum, have a quick afternoon tea and see the Royal Crescent, Circus and Pulteney Bridge. I enjoyed that the Bath stop was in the afternoon as the city is beautiful during golden hour/sunset. Thanks Pablo and Jim!

Only have a day to spare. Am interested in this Stonehenge and Bath tour. Any option with meet-up point close to Canary Wharf?
Written 25 March 2019
Sorry, not that familiar with the area. Look it up on Google maps and then either walk it or Uber. Have fun!

It is a long day but you return about 7pm I think. It is an 8am start. It should tell you in tour details. We did a couple of tours so I'm not sure exactly as one was longer than the other.

Do ALL coaches have toilet facilities as this is a large factor in our booking? Also just wondering is Stonehenge or Bath visited first?
Written 15 July 2018
The coach I was on was quite small and did not have toilets. Lunch was provided, but I echo the suggestion to bring your own snacks or expect to buy some food (we got pasties from the shop recommended by the guide, and they were excellent). We did Bath first, then Stonehenge.
Written 15 July 2018
Yes there is a toilet but no one tends to use it on the bus. There are breaks to go to the bathroom when you get off the bus.
