We visited the Arcelormittal Orbit to have a ride on the slide which was a very enjoyable experience. Upon entering the building to check in the security and staff member just looked at us without saying anything which made things feel a little awkward, this then made the security check feel a bit strange as we didn't really know what to do, where to stand etc.

The lady behind the till was friendly enough to us but nobody specified exactly what we can and couldn’t take on the slide such as keeping a phone in a zip pocket so we just out everything in the locker but later on saw people taking photos of each other in the slide gear on phones which we would have liked to do to but took the safe option of leaving our belongings in case it was not allowed.

The staff on the slide, lift and viewing areas were all very helpful and clear with instructions which made the experience run well, it was just a small shame the queue took quite a while to go down but I can’t fault it as safety is important.

We generally had a really nice time and were allowed back up to take some photos after the slide, just the initial greeting procedures were not the best.

The slide is an enjoyable 40 sec exhilarating ride to the bottom and there are some decent views from the top, but at £17 it is over priced.

They also need to have a consistent policy on items in pockets on the slide. There are lockers - we stuck our bags in them - but we kept our phones on our person so that we could take pictures of the view at the top; we were told by a staff member this would be okay as long as our pockets were zipped. Then, at the top of the sculpture, we were in the middle of taking photos when a different staff member told us we would have to go all the way back down to the lockers as our phones were not allowed. Not sure why we were picked on as loads of other people were taking photos before going the slide. The same staff member also rushed us to the slide whilst we were enjoying the view at the top. For £17 we would have liked longer; we were at the top for less than 30 minutes. This spoiled the whole experience.

We bought this as a virgin experience day 2 tickets to ride once, I also have a blue light card so got a further 20% off the final price.

We arrived and put our things in the lockers. Went to the viewing platform such lovely views from the top at a 360 angle getting to walk around the outside, lots of information about the places around you. We booked for 3.15 but didn't realise they change it to 3.30 for the slide, we didn't know this we got there an hour earlier so felt like a lot of waiting around.

We were finally allowed to join the queue and we didn't actually ride the slide until 4. 10pm which was quite frustrating as you'd think it would be the allocated time.
The slide itself was fun but wasn't as fast as you'd expected, it definitely had faster bits and slow bits an overall lasted around 30-40 seconds so it's over quite quick. You almost feel that you should get 2 rides.

We didn't realise how much trouble we'd have getting back to the tube station as west ham stadium is right next to the slide. The match finished at 4pm we were stuck in crowds of people it was awful trying to get back to the tube. So I would definitely check prior to make sure there are no games on when you go!

Amazing ride.
We all did this as a fun day out. Lots of screaming as you go down the slide, and the ride is truly exhilarating. The slide is 178m from top to bottom and takes about 40 seconds, so you get an idea of how fast it descends!
There are lots of twists and turns and some of it is in darkness, which serves to add to the excitement. The queuing moves along quite well and the staff fully debrief you before you descend and there is safety gear provided to protect you as you go down.
Be advised, due to the nature of the ride, no cameras or phones are allowed, but you can pay the extra for a head cam on your headgear for a video record. You can also pay for any photos that are taken of you as you descend at the gift shop afterwards.
Well worth a visit and children will love it. We also did the skyline views tour at the top afterwards and the views across London are fantastic. Bring binoculars !

Hi Travelwell_always123, Thank you for the lovely feedback! We're so pleased to hear you enjoyed The Slide experience. As you rightly stated, personal recording devices are not permitted inside The Slide. However GoPros can be provided, mounted to a chest harness, upon request at any time prior to your ride. Although we offer photo opportunities at various points in your visit, we do not yet currently capture photos within The Slide itself. We are certainly looking into this for future though and we hope to see you again soon! Kind regards, Janie

I came here with my boyfriend at the beginning of March, it was a gift to go down the slide. I was absolutely terrified, I'm quite claustrophobic and anxious. Waiting in the queue at the top and looking down scared me a lot, but as soon as your experience begins and you start sliding... it's amazing! It was a really unique experience. I've seen reviews say different things, I personally found that I went down quite fast, the speed took my breath away a little bit and it was over before I knew it. I would 100% slide a second time as it isn't very expensive, I highly recommend and its nowhere near as scary as it looks. Staff were super helpful from showing us where the lockers were, telling us jokes in the lift and helping us get our kit on properly. Added bonus of being able to pop back up after sliding and have a look at the view from the viewing platform.

The slide was amazing with incredible views! We went at about 4pm and the view was beautiful, I’d recommend going earlier to get the full effect. I opted for the go pro option which was well worth it, it gave me a video of my face going down the slide and I’ll be able to show friends & family now! The staff were very friendly & accommodating. Three people stood out to us as being very helpful, the manager Hayley, Kishan and Umar. Had a great time, would definitely go back :)

So far it's a NO from me. Having booked for 5 people and had the payment accepted, I have not received any email confirmation with booking ref or tickets. I have emailed their ticket and info desk. Held on the phone for ages, only to then be cut off. This is a birthdy present of which I have already paid out the money for and their is an issue with their ticket confirmation or website server. I am bascially in limbo waiting to see if this is indeed booked. Answer your querry phones, why is the UK can you get no-one on the phone. This business needs to provide better querry service, it's not good enough just to take soeones money and invest nothing in the service. ALl of this is before I actually turn up for the slide. Which looing at what's going on I may just cancel, if I can ever get hold of anyone! Sort your service out.

Booked for 4:15 as we had a busy day and a tight schedule. Entered at around 3:45, was made to wait until 4:35 before being allowed to join the queue for the slide, finally sliding down around 5pm. This made us late for the train home. Inconvenient and poor customer service. Booking online should make you aware you will be not be sliding at the time you book.

We were given Gift Voucher's for the slide last Christmas as a present.

As we live a good one & a half hours away by train plus the walk from Stratford Station we had the bright idea of tying in our visit with the week's holiday that we had booked for May , 2020 staying in The City of London.

Along came Covid 19 & our week in London was cancelled & the slide closed.

As the slide re opened on August 1st we went on line to register our gift voucher's & pre book for today.

A sign of things to come was that I could not register on line due to the voucher being purchased some time ago. Instead we had to ring up. This I did & after holding the line for nearly 6 minutes I was informed by a pre recorded voice that there was , in fact , no one there to take a call.

My wife rang again on the following day & was given an e mail address to use. This proved non existent!

Eventually she got the matter sorted & I printed our ticket voucher's.

This morning we travelled to the site, arriving at the ticket office about 7 or 8 minutes before our given time.

1 window open & although there was only a couple plus a group of 5 in front of us,, the whole process was agonisingly slow. We must have waited at least 15 minutes.

Just as the clerk had finished ratifying our voucher's & issued our tickets he received a message that the slide had closed due to inconsistent levels of speed. We could go up to the viewing platform if we wished & re arrange a visit for the slide.

Quite honestly, we had had enough & are opting for a re fund. Who is to say this would'nt happen next time & the next ad infinitum. Now back home & reading the reviews I see other's have had the same experience.

3 hours on the tube wearing a mask & passing through the dubious delights of Westfield Stratford again? No thank you.

Dear Keith, Many thanks for taking the time to leave your detailed feedback. I'm extremely sorry to learn of your experience with us. Although I'm sure you can appreciate some of these elements are beyond our control, we have clearly let you down on a number of other areas. Following the reopening of our attraction after the first COVID-19 lockdown a number of new processes and procedures have been implemented to keep both our Guests and Team Members safe, however this has clearly impacted upon our Guest's experience. We will be taking your feedback onboard and will include it our future planning for when we can reopen. Many thanks Dave

Left Maidstone, Kent to travel to Olympic Park arrived on time we queued up went into lift got to the top to go down the slide, only to be told that the slide has been closed because some IDIOT took off their masks halfway down the slide.
This means this course happen again so I would not waste my money to re book because the same thing could happen again.
I am disgusted by the selfishness of individuals. We were all given a card to read and it specifically states a mask must be worn at all times when visiting skyline and slide.

This was a nice little surprise for my niece who is 10 years old. Car park tickets were expensive to say the least (5 pounds for nothing).
I think when stupid people do this and ruin a fun day for others then they should be named and shamed pair of thick idiots.

I would not recommend anyone to do this ride until all this is over, because there is always a idiot out there that will ruin it for others.

Hello Culture638829 Thank you very much for your feedback and we are very sorry your experience was impacted by the individual who removed their mask within The Slide. The safety of our team members and Guests is our top priority and we have implemented a number of additional measures to ensure our Guests remain COVID safe throughout their visit, and further processes to encourage our Guests to adhere to these measures. All guests impacted by this were offered the opportunity to revisit later that day, or rebooked to another day. We do understand you would rather revisit once things are a little more settled, so if you have not already rebooked, please contact our customer service team who will be able to support you with rebooking once things are settled (ticket@arcelormittalorbit.com). Many thanks again for taking the time to feedback. Dave
