- Cicoe0 contributionsCheck the weatherThe problem with this is, it is much more $$$ to buy your ticket the same day, but it is totally not worth the money if the weather isn't clear. The day we went was very overcast and no sun so everything looked cloudy and hazy. So I'd say if you want the best experience pay the extra and make sure it's a clear day so your photos are good & you can see & enjoy more.Written 7 March 2024

So we’re premium map holders meaning that we got free entry with fast pass ( of which is really worth while as the queues looked to be an hour long).
The attraction itself lasts about 30-40 minutes depending on how many times it stops.
It goes quite high as you can imagine- however I have a serious issue with heights and I did it 3 times over 2 days, so I guess it’s not that bad.
The pods during the day can be quite crowded with about 14 people on average making it hard to get your perfect photo. However at night time it’s a lot quieter with half the size, and sometimes single groups having a pod to themselves.
It’s so much better at night firstly as it’s less busy but also due to the night time skyline. So either way I’d recommend it, but due to the queues and day time business it’s a 2, however the nighttime experience is a 5. So I feel 4 is a good midpoint.

We booked on the official website on the same day that we wanted to go as the weather was sunny and clear and opted for Fast Track tickets with flexibility of going at any time. This worked brilliantly as we did not want to be committed to a set time and when we arrived there was a queue. We were able to get on the ride in about 5 minutes and it meant we were not standing in a crowd for a while. The staff were friendly and efficient with excellent security with bags being scanned etc We also felt Covid safe and the pods were spacious with the ability to socially distance and numbers in the pod limited. The views were absolutely fantastic and show cased our brilliant capital city. You could see many iconic buildings and great photo opportunities. To make it more memorable it would have been great to have some information on what you could see,

Short trip to London with the aim of going on the London Eye, Bought the ticket online and paying extra for a fast track ticket. It was worth the extra as we queued for 5mins before getting on we heard that there were waits of up to 3 hours for people buying tickets on the day.
We had good views of the Houses of Parliament and good views over London but it was all over in half an hour.
All in all it was worth doing as an experience.

I went with a Russian friend who was visiting London and purchased fast track tickets which were expensive but meant you could jump the long queue. It was worth the expense not just for that reason but for the wonderful views of the iconic sites of London’s skyline, the Houses of Parliament and St Paul’s Cathedral. Even though the afternoon was dull we could see the views clearly and took lots of photographs all the way up to the top. The London Eye also have a staff photographer at the entrance and automatic cameras to record you on the Eye which can be purchased at the end of the trip.

Got my ticket in advance to avoid the line which I'd recommend. I went at night and felt that although it looked cool in person, I couldn't convey that via camera or phone. I would be interested in seeing it during the day to see if I could spot parts of London better. It's pricey and everything around it is extremely touristy but if you're walking around a lot, it's not a bad place to pause.

Really nice experience and fantastic views of London especially on a lovely clear day like it was today.
I thought the tickets were too expensive for this even standard tickets were about £36 each and the Fast-track tickets weren’t that more expensive which is what we bought.
£138 for tickets for 3 adults is excessive in my opinion.
I also thought that too many passengers are in a capsule at a time as it was hard to see all angles/views of the city as people were blocking the view due to the numbers of families inside. It would of been a much more pleasant attraction visit with less people.

My husband, Aunt and I took my 10 year old son on the London Eye today. He has special needs and came home from school with a 50% off voucher. We booked 2 adult tickets and 1 Child. As our son receives DLA we knew we would be entitled to a free Carer ticket (to be purchased on the day.) At 50% off it seemed a great deal.
The process was fairly painless. We purchased our carer ticket from kiosk 1&2 (showing appropriate evidence) and were given Fast Track access for us all. There was a queue as you would expect but it moved smoothly and we went through security painlessly.
The flight was good fun. Be aware that the bubbles don’t stop for boarding so be prepared to be hussled on like in a ski lift! The views were fantastic and our son thoroughly enjoyed spotting trains and boats from the air whilst we scoured the skyline for the sights.
I’m not sure we would pay full price for fast track tickets given the option so we were glad of the free upgrade. Our son wears a sunflower lanyard signifying hidden disabilities and feel that was a good visual marker for security etc.
Lovely day out.

Horrendous experience - wouldn’t go again, paid well over 100GBP with fast track tickets to be crammed into a capsule with half of London and couldn’t really get to enjoy the experience at all or admire the views properly and the next capsule down had like 7 people. Doesn’t make sense - would recommend paying for fast track if you want to risk going cost me an extra 30GBP but avoided the horrendous queues. Last time I’m ever stepping foot on that thing again. Save your money, overrated attraction just admire it from the outside.

Myself and my partner arranged for the champagne experience of the London eye and it was totally worth it. Skipped the line, had a photo before going on the eye and had a glass of champagne on the way around. It was amazing along with the views, definitely a romantic activity to do.
Big shout out to Matthew who took charge of our capsule, knew lots about the surrounding sights and gave myself a cork of the champagne bottle for our anniversary

We visited on June 19 after booking online one month in advance because it was the only way we could get a fast-track ticket plus the flex option which allows you fast entrance with no timeslot, you just show up there the moment you want to and get in! Ride lasts about 30 min. and there's a building right in front of the wheel with restrooms and ticket stations for those who purchase them right on the spot. The view was magnificent and you get to see everything, if possible try to go straight to the back of the capsule and keep on your left as soon as you get in, this way you'll get the best of both sides. Souvenirs from shops are also worth the price and staff is well organized, also the wheel moves slowly, not only to let everyone enjoy the view but also to prevent motion sickness(I'm prone to it however I felt good the entire ride)...

Dear Joanie
There is a website where you can buy fast track tickets, but TripAdvisor does not allow me to paste the link in a message. Please put "London Eye fast track tickets link" into your search browser and it should take you to the tickets you want.
I'm very cross with TripAdvisor about this. It's pointless not letting me help you. So sorry. Hope you can find it this way.

We waited about 5 minutes in the queue and then the ride lasts 30-40 minutes. Well worth it the views are just stunning. As long as you have good weather. When we did ours you couldn’t see one side as pouring with rain but when we went round to the other side it was sunny with lovely views.

I can’t tell you exactly, on the day we went it was very busy but still plenty of room in the Gondola,
I think from a safety point of view this is strictly managed
I’m guessing but there were probably no more than 25 people in the car - hope this helps
